Located 1’400 meters (4’600 feet) above sea level and thanks to its conformation and breezy climate, it is an ideal starting point for delightful walks in a natural land- scape, to indulge in one’s passion for flight with paragliding and is also a unique setting for rock-climbing on gneiss. And finally, in Monte Carasso, discover the ancient Augus- tinian Convent and in Sementina the “Hungerforts”.

IL PONTE TIBETANO E I SENTIERI DA VIVERE
IT Da Bellinzona, oltre il fiume Ticino, nasce una regione che annovera numerose testimonianze storico-architettoniche, ricca di itinerari escursionistici, anche impegnativi. Dal 2015 quest’area è caratterizzata dalla forte e significativa presenza del Ponte Tibetano. Lungo 270 m e posto ad un’al- tezza di 130 m dal fondovalle, esso collega Curzútt – unico e pittoresco nucleo dell’antico comune di Monte Carasso resi- stito nel tempo – alla suggestiva Via delle Vigne, cammino sensoriale che si affaccia sulle colline di Sementina e Gudo. Appena partiti da Curzútt incontriamo San Bernardo, la cui omonima chiesetta è uno dei cinque monumenti d’impor- tanza nazionale presenti nel Bellinzonese. Attraversato il Ponte Tibetano troviamo l’Oratorio di San Defendente che testimonia di analoghi insediamenti sull’altro versante del- la Valle di Sementina. Ce sen- tier permet donc de parcourir à pied l’itinéraire qui relie idéa- lement le patrimoine de l’UNESCO des Châteaux de Bellinzona au Lac Majeur, en se régalant – pourquoi pas – de quelques dégustations de produits locaux et de vins de quali- té. D’autres parcours, vers les sommets, conduisent aux ca- banes des alpages de Orino, Mognone et Albagno. Signalons en particulier Mornera que l’on peut atteindre en téléphé- rique.
