It’s a great way for little ones to imagine and grow. In this kit are group event ideas, stickers, and reproducible activity sheets that invite children to play and create like Peppa. Peppa Plays Peppa is a very active pig! She loves to bike, swim, and jump rope with her family and friends. What is your favorite thing to do? Find out if others enjoy the same outdoor activities you do! Instructions: Gather a group in a circle. Ask volunteers to stand in the middle one at a time and silently act out their favorite outdoor activity. Have the rest of the group guess what it is. After the action is guessed correctly, poll the audience to find out who else likes that activity. Peppa Says Peppa’s friends follow her everywhere! Whether it’s biking to the playground or jumping into a muddy puddle, Peppa’s friends listen when she leads the way. Can you follow along with Peppa, too? Instructions: Gather a group in a circle. Ask for a volunteer to be Peppa and lead the others in some simple actions. To get things started, have “Peppa” choose one of the actions listed below, then say, “Peppa says . .” and describe the movement while acting it out. Fraught with misrepresentations, cinema has been held responsible, and occasionally credited, for influencing cultural practices and helping to shape discourses in American society. This study suggests that the media representations of nonhuman animals also have a profound effect on how Americans think about animals and that these representations warrant examination to uncover the naturalized messages and assumptions that are presented about animals. Explored here are the extent to which these images depict animal-ness – moments of authentic nonhuman behavior or experience that are not simply a reflection of humanity but have meaning for the animals themselves. This study highlights the case of “food animals” – specifically pigs. The disjunction between how we represent them – the narratological roles they fill in animal films – and the way that actual pigs are used in American society is vast and disturbing.

    Two faced… I received a comment this morning on my recent blog post about being Jealous of Peppa Pig because she is living life to the max. The Ski trips, sunny holidays, trips to the shops, museums, you name it, she’s done it. And I hate her for it. She has done more than me in her lifetime…and she is only 4. I digress, I received a comment on it by the wonderful R is for Hoppit (do check out her blog, she is just hilarious) and she said I shouldn’t be too jealous of Peppa because she can only see what’s going on, on one side of her head due to the positioning of her eyes, so she is missing out on all the other fun things that are going on the other side. Just Brilliant and a very valid point. () This cracked me up, and also got me thinking… (Which we should all know by now is dangerous in itself) What is on the other side of Peppa’s face?? Maybe she has a good and bad side like most of us do when it comes to cameras…? After some research (and maybe photoshop) I made a shocking discovery. She only has makeup done on one side of her face, her good side. The bad side is, well, take a look for yourselves…it’s the stuff nightmares are made of. Sleep well tonight children…. An all time low… I’m coming to realise part of my hatred for Peppa Pig may be due to jealousy.
