Mike has produced a beautiful musical arrangement of ‘ONE VOICE’ to promote unity and togetherness and lift the spirits of his choir which, has only been able to meet on Zoom during the Covid pandemic. The song was originally by The Wailin’ Jennys – a folk group from Canada, but Brian May of Queen fame and Kerry Ellis, West End and Musical Theatre Star did a cover of the song a few years ago. One of Mike’s choir members posted their version on the choir’s Instagram page and ‘tagged’ Kerry Ellis and Brian May. Kerry responded to this and kindly offered to sing with the choir! Kerry now stars in the video singing with Mike King and 56 choir members. The video can be viewed via this link https://youtu.be/qmADkwbVHiE The video helps raise awareness of the MyCool Music Foundation which is planning to fund song-writing workshops for frontline NHS workers affected by the stress and challenges of the pandemic. If you would like to help fund these courses please go to www.mycoolmusicfoundation.org where you will be able to donate. Mike has already had much publicity during lockdown with his NHS choir, Breathe Harmony, and his arrangement of ‘Anytime You Need a Friend’, which has now had over 75,000 views. Mariah Carey personally loved it and said it had bought her to tears! https://youtu.be/_mpT2vJgzp0 If you would like more information or to interview Kerry Ellis or Mike King please contact Carol Ashfield on 07941 236593 .
