Hello everyone, Hope everyone is having a nice summer. I thought you would enjoy the following:

“The 10 Commandments of Bingo” 1 Thou shalt not sit in thy neighbor's lucky seat. 2 Thou shalt not take the callers name in vain. 3 Thou shalt not call a false “Bingo”. 4 Thou shalt not stare at thy neighbor's cards. 5 Thou shalt not wish bad luck on thy neighbor. 6 Thou shalt not threaten to kill the “caller”. 7 Thou shalt not steal thy husband's money for Bingo. (oh al- right, you can do this one). 8 Thou shalt not brag about how much thou has won. 9 Thou shalt not whine about how much thou has lost. 10 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's winnings.

Please come and join us. We have new neighbors coming. We look forward to seeing you. Bingo starts at 12:15. Please be there anytime from 11-12:15 to check in. We usually end by 3pm.

6 Kingdom of the Sun Concert Band Les Muncaster, Conductor

Mentioning the names and Glenn Miller will bring a smile to the lips of most of our genera- tion and, in virtually every instance, a song to their hearts. From the symphonic melodies of Gershwin’s folk opera “Porgy & Bess” to the swinging, toe-tapping big-band sounds of “In the Mood,” few composers/ musicians have left such an indelible mark on the culture of American music. Their songs are timeless, with melodies that follow you home and beyond.

That’s why we’re excited to invite you to join the Kingdom of the Sun Concert Band for our September concert series, “Strike Up the Band,” on Saturday, September 28th, 2:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 29th, 3:00 p.m. at the Marion Technical Institute auditorium, 1614 Ft. King Street, in Ocala. Beginning with our title number, Gershwin’s “Strike Up the Band” to his “I Got Rhythm” and “Symphonic Gershwin,” including the haunting “Rhapsody in Blue,” during the first half of our program, to the big-band sounds of “In a Miller Mood,” featuring the songs of Glenn Miller, “I Feel a Song Coming On,” and the swinging “Sing, Sing, Sing,” believe me, these and our other featured selections, will follow you home, with, as they say, “a song in your heart.”

What more could you ask for – except, maybe, someone to enjoy it with – so why not invite a friend or two to join you? The price is right and it’s a wonderful way to spend an afternoon; after all, all our performances are free and open to the public.

The Kingdom of the Sun Concert Band is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) symphonic concert band; the only band of its kind in Marion County. We currently have 100+ members in the band. Our youngest musician is 13 and our most senior member is 92. We come from all walks of life – students, former military, music ed- ucators, engineers, pilots, homemakers, educators, medical professionals, administrative assistants – you name it. From professional musicians to middle school students, we all come together through our shared love of music.

Conductor Les Muncaster and his wife Marcia are former members of the U.S. Air Force Band and long-time residents of Rolling Greens.

We hope you will join the Kingdom of the Sun Concert Band for “Strike Up the Band” on Saturday, Septem- ber 28th, 2:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 29th, 3:00 p.m. at the Marion Technical Institute auditorium, 1614 Ft. King Street, in Ocala. It’s always great to see so many friends and neighbors in the audience. We look forward to seeing you there. For more information, please call 624-9291 or visit our website at http:// kingdomofhesunband.org. As always, admission is free and all performances are open to the public.

In another month, my husband Mike and I will be closing up the Have you ever thought what you would do if you were left alone? How you house in Ohio, packing the car and heading down to Rolling would feel if your husband drove off and left you in a rest park, miles from Greens. What a short summer! We are getting anxious to return home? Well it happened to me! While we were helping our son move to and join in all the activities with friends again. Memphis TN, we were pulling a trailer behind our truck. My husband and grandson were in the front seat, I was in the back. Jim (my husband) got See you at the Library in October. out to go to the restroom at a rest par, as did I after he got out. He was in a hurry. After I finished, I came outside. No one on that side. I went to other side and no one there but the big trucks. OMG he has left me. I had no cell phone on me and no money. What will I do? Meanwhile, out on the interstate was Jim and Zac. Zac looks up and says, “Grandpa, aren’t you going to wait on grandma?” Jim looks in the back seat, nope I’m not there. He stops and pulls off the side of the road. He tried calling me, but it only rang in the back seat. He had just had back surgery and couldn't walk that far. He also could not back the big trailer on the interstate. So, my grandson came walking back to me. What a beauti- ful site he was. I was a little mad at first, but soon we were laughing all the way to Nashville. Note!
