President: Requested that the discussion regarding Cove and taxes be held until the end of the meeting. She explained the upcoming elections; votes are cast for “at large” board members, not for specific offices, with the exception of the Area Di- rectors. Four of the five “at large” positions will be vacant as well as 2 area directors. Weekly meetings with Cove will be on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m., with the exception that the 3rd Monday of the month will be an evening meeting at 6:00 p.m. There continues to be a need for volunteers. The annual spaghetti dinner, the major HOA fundraiser, will need a chair person and committee members. The monies raised at this dinner covers HOA expenses.

Commentators Tom Mullen, chair of the nominating committee spoke and reiterated the need for more people to step up and run. There are 4 out of 5 open positions for at large; 3 are for 2 year terms and 1 for 1 year term; plus 2 area directors. Explanation given regarding the duties of each job; one member of the audience stood and volunteered to run for Area 1 as long as Bunny would help.

Gail Morrison chair of the election committee explained the process and stressed that there is only 1 vote per household. The NE Club be- gins on October 10th with the annual pizza party. Either respond to the email or sign up by Friday, October 4th in order that adequate pizzas can be purchased.

Charles Pennington- The RGVFD pancakes breakfasts will begin on October 12th. They run monthly on the 2nd Saturday from October- April. Costs remains $3.00. He pointed out that the RGVFD owned the current Fire and Rescue building and leased it to Marion County. It has now been sold to Cove. The ribbon cutting on the new building will be on October 23rd at 10:00a.m.

Linda Lee Krebs announced that NY club will be beginning the season on 10/17/19. It will have pulled pork or chicken sandwiches, with a side dish large enough to feed 8-10 brought by members and guests. Yearly dues of $8.00 will be collected and tickets ($8.00) for Thanksgiving meal will be available for purchase. Entertainment in October will consist of an auction with proceeds going to Bahamian relief. Please bring a wrapped new/almost new item for the auction. The Arts and Crafts show will be held in November. There will be a bake sale in conjunction with the fair. Robin Cunningham and Fran Misterly are co-chairs of the bake sale. Need volunteers to bake goods for sale.

Kaye Loper thanked all for their donations to Operation Shoebox. Money is needed for shipping. She reminded all that it is necessary to sup- port our troops who are defending our freedoms, that Christmas is coming, and the troops need our gifts more than ever at that time.

Sandy Leach, president, read a letter from Cove regarding the tax pass through to the membership. A brief discussion followed. Motion made and carried for Charles Pennington to submit a 30 day letter to Cove to negotiate this matter. The HOA attorney will be contacted to determine the legality of Cove’s actions.

Share the Wealth: There were 9 $10.00 winners.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted

New England Club November 2019

The New England Club had the first monthly meeting on Thursday, October 10. Everyone enjoyed pizza provided by the club. After dinner we had a short business meeting. Our next meeting, November 7, will be a Thanksgiving dinner. Social hour from 5-6pm (please arrive by 5:30). Dinner will be served at 6:00pm. The club will provide the turkeys and dessert (several members volunteered to cook the turkeys). A list was sent around for everyone to sign up to bring a side dish. If you were not at the meeting please respond to Rich Allen’s email to let him know if you will be attending and what side dish you will bring. Everyone was reminded to please bring a dish large enough to feed 8-10 people. We will be having a joint Christmas party with the New York Club on December 19th. Tickets will be on sale at our No- vember meeting for $10.00 each. Dues for the year are $8.00 per person. If you have not paid your dues please pay at our November meeting. Please bring exact cash or a check made out to Rich Allen. Dues are collected to pay for entertainment and to purchase meat and other items that the club provides. We recognized all our birthday and anniversaries from May through October. We had the 50/50 drawing then Linda Lee had a very chal- lenging Trivia game for everyone to enjoy! We are all looking forward to a wonderful year.

Rolling Greens will be hosting the January 22, 2020 meeting here in the auditorium at 12:30 pm for refreshments and a 1:00 meeting. You need not be a member to attend. The speaker will be someone from the American Red Cross speaking on hurricane and disaster relief. In the meantime, the Red Cross is sponsoring a program with the generous contribution by The Kidde Corporation, to install one free smoke alarm in each mobile home. The free smoke alarm will have a 10-year battery and will be installed by a Red Cross volunteer. Signup sheet on the FMO notice board in the auditorium. The FMO monthly meeting was held at Oak Bend in Ocala on September 26, 2019. The guest speaker was Rob Boulware from Storm Ready Services. With the use of an actual mobile home tie down, Rob demonstrated how and where tie downs are installed under a mobile home. He explained the Code and the State Tie Down program. The qualifications for getting on this free program have changed slightly. Mobile homes older than 1999 with removable stacked brick and a 15” clearance now qualify. W can apply individually, not as a community. Ap- plications are on the FMO notice board in the auditorium. Rob also discussed the importance of a vapor barrier. Vapor barriers should be checked every 5 years and/or after a plumb- er has made repairs or an exterminator has cut the barrier to look for termites or mold. He stated that the holes can be patched and that it is rare when the complete barrier has to be replaced. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DESSERT?

LIGHT UP NIGHT IN ROLLING GREENS VILLAGE By: Mary Hill

We have many trees to light up and they will be seen from Lakewood Dr. We do this to raise money for Operation Shoebox which sends gifts to our troops overseas. We accept donations, and every cent we raise goes to support our troops. They are so grateful Stretch and Tone when they know that people back home have remembered Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 AM them. So mark your calendars now for Sunday evening, De- In the auditorium cember 1st. We will light the trees at 6:00 pm and have some Bring a mat and light hand weights drinks, snacks and even carolers.
