Florida Supreme Court Justice R. Fred Lewis to Lead Civic Learning Program
FOR ALUMNI AND FRIENDS OF FLORIDA SOUTHERN COLLEGE OUTHERNNEWS S VOLUME 64 FALL 2019 A letter from the president With great excitement, we began our new academic year in August, welcoming 3,558 new and returning students to campus. The highly talented Class of 2023 arrived here from 37 states and the territory of Puerto Rico, and from 18 countries. This edition of Southernnews highlights exciting changes that have been taking place at FSC, including the introduction of several high-profile academic programs, recently completed and ongoing construction projects, faculty promotions, student honors, and alumni profiles. The start of the fall semester saw the launch of our much-anticipated Doctor of Physical Therapy program in its distinctively designed new home, the Campisi Academic Center for Physical Therapy. This state-of-the-art facility eectively brings unique aspects of FSC’s renowned architectural heritage to Lakeland’s Dixieland Historic District on South Florida Avenue. As part of the program’s curriculum, students will be performing clinical rotations locally and around the country, and will join faculty members in providing pro bono services through outreach eorts to underserved populations in our community. In these pages, you’ll also find an update about plans for another architecturally significant structure that will accommodate a major expansion of our computer science program, the Carole and Marcus Weinstein Computer Sciences Center, beginning to take shape in a prime spot overlooking Lake Hollingsworth. During a special Celebration of Our Freedoms luncheon in February, I was extremely pleased to announce that recently retired Florida Supreme Court Justice R. -
You Should Consider Nothing Good Which Has Its Beginning in Evil

Annalove DJ/PRODUCER (TRILLWAVE, BASS, ATMOSPHERIC)
AnnaLove DJ/PRODUCER (TRILLWAVE, BASS, ATMOSPHERIC) Austin, TX [email protected] "Within the interspecies breeding between genres, few are as aptly titled as Austin, Texas’s Annalove. A self-described purveyor of ‘trill-wave’ and ‘dripstep’, her music exudes a whiff of bass-filled gangsterism, but in the most sophisticated way possible, akin to fully tinted windows and neon undercarriage lights on a stately Rolls. A drummer and student in audio engineering, as a producer she combines dubby subtle rhythmic syncopations with ethereal fog-filled atmospheres and R&B phantasms to concoct a syrupy stew. This is night-drive music at its finest." - RBMA Red Bull Music Academy Participant 2013 Production: AbletonLive 8 Logic Pro 8 Performance: Ableton Live 8 Serato Scratch Live Livid Instruments Ohm64 RGB Experience DJ/Producer/Promoter NYC/Dallas/Austin//Berlin Jun 2009 - Present BrokenTeeth Art collective. Singing Together Enhances Our Own School Community and Creates a Positive Environment
let’s sing! Songbank resources These songs can all be used in class, in assembly or by children at home. They can be used as videos or listening resources to complement and enhance PHSE topics, to generate discussion and reflection, and as starting points for extended work and activities. They all also directly support and underpin work on core values. One Voice - Brian May and Kerry Ellis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd8ySMk5TUs Themes and ideas: • Focus on the clear, simple, powerful lyrics of the song • The importance and strength of our individual voice. One voice can make a difference. • Think of examples of people who stood up and spoke out to make a difference; for example, Malala, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Mother Theresa. • The power and strength we find in working together. • The power of singing itself to bring people together. How singing builds relationships and communities. Reflect on how singing together enhances our own school community and creates a positive environment. How does singing together make us feel? • Focus on the clear, simple, powerful lyrics of the song • The song was written by Ruth Moody of The Wailin’ Jennys and has been recorded by a number of artists.
