Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Worldwide statistics shows that just as many men as women are victims of domestic violence, and children are just as likely to be abused physically, sexually and emotionally by women as men. Also, women are just as likely to abduct children as men. What is not realised, because Scotland and Northern Ireland are separate jurisdictions to England and Wales, is that it is a criminal offence to remove a child from one jurisdiction to another permanently without the consent of the other parent, or if consent is denied, getting a court order to allow the removal. As well as any removal of a child out of the UK, Both Parents Forever can help any victim of domestic violence or anyone whose child has been abducted, prepare their case, and get a proper investigation.

On 20th June, Both Parents Forever are planning to hold a series of Candlight Vigil at 7.30pm to campaign for Shared residence to be the normal order following divorce or separation. This is part of an international campaign. Phone: 01689 854343

ICIS has been awarded a small grant from West Sussex ChangeUp to help support the objectives of the West Sussex ChangeUp Business Plan. We are using this grant to help develop the 'Support for Services' database which we have been piloting on our website. The aim of this database is to capture and share information that we discover about services that can provide training, support and other opportunities for organisations (mainly but not exclusively) from the voluntary and social enterprise sector. Developing the content of this database will help support a key outcome for ChangeUp, which is to help voluntary and community organisations in West Sussex become better informed about, and accessing, a wide range of support.

To view the 'Support for Services' database visit: http://www.icis-info4life.org.uk/ForOrganisations/SforS.htm

We welcome your comments on this resource, or suggestions for other support that could be added.

ICIS and the new ‘Supporting People Directory of Services’

ICIS has been working with West Sussex Supporting People to create an online directory of Supporting People services, enabling people to search for services based on type of support, location and by keyword.

The Supporting People Directory is accessible via a link to the ‘Supporting People Directory of Services’ on the home page of the ICIS website. The Directory will be refreshed every night with amendments made that day. An online, printable, help manual is available from the ‘Search help’ tab, and there is an email address on the home page of the Directory so you can feed back your comments about using the Directory at any time. ICIS will gather data on site traffic and visitor activity to monitor usage.

For more information about ICIS or the Supporting People Directory contact:
