Here, 18 km from Stuttgart, is where engineering genius has been combined with racing passion since 1971: the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach and the Porsche Motorsport headquarters in the district of Flacht. The birthplace of all Porsche models. Every new Porsche originates here. From the first line of a sketch in a notebook to tyre marks on the test track. From the prototype to the final production car. It makes no difference to Porsche whether it’s a sports car or a race car. Because motorsport is integral to Porsche DNA from the outset. And knowledge gained on the racetrack has always played a major role in series development. New ideas are tested here and the true performance ability of concepts is examined. Getting a little closer to realising the dream of a perfect sports car does not simply require more horsepower. Instead, it needs more new ideas. This is the principle at the core of the Porsche brand. And this is what is meant by ‘Porsche Intelligent Performance’. Nowhere is the absolute determination to question one’s own performance and the desire to achieve the most out of every opportunity more apparent than in the Porsche Motorsport Centre in Flacht. In this state-of-the-art complex made of aluminium and glass, every employee lives and breaths the Porsche passion for motorsport every day. Porsche Driver’s Selection has dedicated an entire collection to this Porsche spirit. The collection features modern designs, innovative materials and the Porsche gene in every fibre. From road cars to race cars: every new Porsche completes its first kilometres on the 2.5-km-long Porsche test track in Flacht, Weissach. Sit in the virtual passenger seat and familiarise yourself with the test track in the accompanying video. Connection costs dependent on your mobile phone contract. The LMP1 centre. An LMP1 centre with labora tories and testing sites was set up in Flacht to prepare for the much-anticipated return to the LMP1 class in 2014. The sophisticated infrastructure ensures that everything is close at hand and lends itself to close cooperation. All LMP1 units work together here under one roof to coordinate development – in the workshop where the car is constructed, for example, in the wind tunnel and where the high-voltage system is tested. The test facilities. There are test facilities for a wide range of components in Weissach. Individual parts such as various cylinder geometries can be examined here, new engines can run at full capacity for the first time and finished cars can be tested. Indeed, gear shifts, delimiters and traction control systems can be tried out at the test facilities. The driving simulator. Technical modifications to the car are simulated in the Porsche simulator. The driver’s feedback is then directly integrated into the development process. Driving impressions that precisely reproduce the racetrack’s profile and environment are generated on a motion simulator with a monocoque, a steering wheel and pedals. This means that both car and driver are fully prepared for every straight, bend and detail. Long before the signal light turns green. NEW. Key strap – Racing. With snap hooks. 100 % polyester. IAn LMP1 prototype with an intelligent overall design that fulfils all the requirements of the sports car of tomorrow: highly developed hybrid technology, uncompromising performance and maximum efficiency. Totally ‘Porsche Intelligent Performance’. This principle was reflected in the racing decals used in its first start in 2014: in the large initials at the Porsche brand’s core. The Racing Collection from Porsche Driver’s Selection takes this design and continually reinterprets it. In an authentic way. Technical. Stripped-down. Confident. Totally Porsche. The livery that will adorn this season’s LMP1 prototype, which is constantly undergoing technical improvement, is still top secret. Almost 500 people work towards this goal in Flacht every day whether they are in the 919 Hybrid or 911 RSR works teams or the unit that deals with the brand cup and customer interaction. • Martini Racing Exhibition
“MARTINI RACING, IN PURSUIT OF THE MYTH” RECORD-BREAKING ACHIEVEMENTS Turin, 8th November 2013. The success of a team is largely determined by its organisation and professionalism, and by the preparation and style of its vehicles, but in the competitive world of motor racing, what really counts are the results. And in this respect, Martini Racing occupies a prime position. The famous dark blue, light blue and red stripes have dominated all racing categories, from endurance to Formula 1, and from rallies to touring car racing. The first significant victories came in the year of its official debut, with Porsche: Martini Racing dominated the 12 Hours of Sebring and, in particular, the 24 Hour Le Mans race, the classic French endurance competition alone being worth as much as a world victory. The first world title dates from 1976 when the Porsche-Martini Racing team won both the Group 5 world championship (for series grand touring cars), and Group 6 for two- seater racing cars, in addition to the 24 hour Le Mans, of course. Fans had to wait until 1981 to celebrate another world title, this time with the Lancia team when it returned to win the category with the Beta Montecarlo Turbo. Meanwhile, the Martini Racing achievements table gained Herbert Müller’s European title in the Interserie with a Porsche 917 turbo, a monstrous machine of more than 1000 CV, and two victories in the Brazilian and German Grand Prix with a Ford-powered Brabham. As for the Formula 1 title, there was nothing to be done against the huge power of the Ferrari, McLaren and Lotus teams which dominated the scene at the time.

The call of Rallylegend is always strong. Once again this year, for the sixteenth time, the San Marino rally event presents a menu to make the fans mouths water, with its unique formula that has become tradition. The many initiatives and special guests will see the always welcoming Republic of San Marino take centre stage from 11 to 14 October. One hundred and fifty cars and teams are registered, from twenty-two different countries, with the most beautiful cars of all, so significant and often unknown, coming from a range of places, to be seen in action together only here. Rallylegend is recognised and appreciated not just by the “historic” rally champions, but by many who currently star in the World Rally Championship and who choose to attend this event for the simple fact that Rallylegend brings the cars and champions together, with no barriers, inside the Rallylegend Village that, for four days, becomes the “rally driver’s home”. The already confirmedKris Meeke, with Brannigan and a Ford Fiesta WRC, Mikko Hirvonen, with Lehtinen (Ford Focus WRC) and Craig Breen, with Scott Martin, on board a Citroen C4 WRC, will be joined by Gustavo Trelles, the multi- titled Uruguayan driver, flanked by Jorge Del Buono.
