Hutchison Engineering, Inc. is a full-service civil engineering firm with offices in Jacksonville, Peoria, Shorewood, and Moline Illinois. With a 75 year history of working in Illinois, we have a well-established client base throughout the state. We routinely work on some of the biggest transportation projects in Illinois. We are looking to hire a talented, enthusiastic Resident Engineer to oversee roadway and bridge construction projects for IDOT and local agencies throughout the Peoria area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Resident Engineer at HEI, you will be responsible for overseeing construction of some of the largest roadway and bridge construction projects in central Illinois for a variety of public agencies including the Illinois Department of Transportation, County Highway Departments, and Municipalities. In this role, your job duties will include, but are not limited to overseeing construction operations, project documentation including the use of IDOT’s ICORS system, materials testing, resolving construction issues with contractors and clients to keep projects on schedule and within budget, acting as liaison with clients, and managing construction inspection staff.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

The specific requirements for the position include:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program • Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois • 5-10 years of Resident Engineer/Construction Inspector experience • ICORS certified • IDOT Documentation certified • IDOT Level I and II HMA & PCC certified • Full-time employment • Microstation or AutoCad experience, preferred • Ability to work overtime as needed • Must be willing to work outside in various weather conditions as required • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds • Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License • Live within 30 minutes of the HEI Peoria office
