  • FERRARI 330 P4 E' Certamente Riduttivo Considerare La Ferrari 330 P4 Una Semplice Auto Da Corsa

  • Lola at Le Mans 2007 Media Guide
Lola at Le Mans 2007 Media Guide B08/60 LMP1 Coupe Preview Test Day Report Lola Team Profiles Complete Lola Le Mans Results A Message from Martin Birrane It goes without saying that Le Mans is the jewel in the crown of global sportscar competition. Indeed, having both raced and entered cars at La Sarthe, it is to my mind the biggest and best motor race in the world. This year, Lola is privileged to have six teams running Huntingdon-built chassis. It is extremely pleasing to see three each of our LMP1 and LMP2 cars here and with such a variety of engines, too. You will find elsewhere in this media guide Lola’s complete results at Le Mans – an invitation to conjure up your own memories from the wonderful past of this uniquely demanding race – and also a peek into the future with the first images of our new LMP1 coupe. I have long believed that Lola’s fortunes are a barometer of the health of sportscar racing and at the moment the market is looking strong, with this weekend’s six Lola entries and the imminent arrival of the first-ever customer LMP1 coupe, the Lola B08/60. As we look ahead to Lola’s 50th anniversary in 2008, the commitment to state-of-the-art technical facilities and outstanding engineering talent will remain the cornerstone of our success and appeal to both manufacturers and privateers seeking sportscar success. I would like to close by personally wishing our customers – and all of our friends throughout the sportscar racing community – the very best of luck in what promises to be an exceptional 75th running of the classic 24 Hours of Le Mans.

  • Porsche 962 Chassis 118 Group C Series
Porsche 962 Chassis 118 Group C Series The Porsche 962 was built by Porsche as the successor to the infamous 956, together these Group C cars had arguably the longest frontline international career in motorsport history totally dominating an era of Group C racing that is still talked about and fondly remembered today. The reason for the introduction of the 962 was to allow the car into IMSA racing in the States as the 956 was banned as the drivers feet were ahead of the front axle centre line. Hence the 962 was made with a longer tub to bring the drivers feet further back. During the early years of the career of the 962, the car was one of the most dominant cars in motorsport. The championships won by teams campaigning the 962 included the World Sportscar Championship title in 1985 and 1986, the IMSA GT Championship every year from 1985 to 1988, the Interserie championship from 1987 until 1992, all four years of the Supercup series (1986 to 1989), and the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship from 1985 until 1989. The 962 also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1986 and 1987 as well as later winning under the Dauer 962 badge in 1994. The presence of strong factory teams, such as Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, and Toyota, competing against privateer 962s eventually led to the car becoming less successful in the later 1980s. Despite the presence of new cars and manufacturers, 962s would continue to win races into 1993. Technical Specifications: Chassis: Bonded and riveted aluminum monocoque.
