He trusts this record will be welcomed by des.cendants. All data has been carefully checked and recheeked agalnst originals. The author had difficulty in making out some of the written records sent to him and will appreciate it if ariyone discovering errors in spelling or data will notify him so corrections can be made in librar·y copies. I HISTORY OF THE FAMILY NP.ME ''BROWN" 2 The origin of the surname "Brown" was English. I' At the period when the growth of the population de manded something more than a given name to distin guish one 'individual from another, there were many dark-complexioned persons who were known as "John . le Brun", or "Wymore le Broune ", and these word.s came to distinguish their children as well as themselves, though many of the children may have been blonds. Thus the name "Brown" means brown. The name has many orthographic peculiarities. Browning was the son of Brown; Brownell was the mighty Brown; Brownlee the Brown who lived in a pasture; Brownlow, the Brown who lived on a hill. Varlous forms a.re: Boown, Bown, Bra.um, Brouun, Brow:r;i.e., Borwnn, Brune, Brune, Brownson, Bronson, Broune, Brunnell and . Burnett. The name Brown is of frequent oecurrance in early New.England records. One hundred and twenty severi Browns emigrated to America before 1700. over thirteen hundred, a regiment by themselves, served in the Revolution from Massachusetts alone. According to the Herald1 s College, England, the Browns have . been grante~ one hundred fifty-six coats-of-arms. The name has been borne in the United States by men \ ., of mark in law,. politics., business .and letters •. 2a DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM BROWN OF BLANDFORD MASS ./ Agnes b 1728 m 1754* John Beard William b 1731 m 1757-See chart page 2b for d.esc- Nancy King enda.nts ·1n.cluding ROBERT the subject of this record. This practice- based research explores the rich history of radio as an artistic medium and the relationship between the artist and technology, emphasising the role of the artist as a mediator between broadcast institutions and a listening public. It considers how radio art might be defined in relation to sound art, music and media art, mapping its shifting parameters in the digital era and prompting a consideration of how radio appears to be moving from a dispersed „live‟ event to one consumed „on demand‟ by a segmented audience across multiple platforms.

Wysing Polyphonic: The Ungoverned Long Biographies Mixes: Christelle Oyiri aka CRYSTALLMESS is a Paris-based multidisciplinary artist. She also goes by the moniker CRYSTALLMESS when she operates as a composer and DJ and released music on experimental electronic music labels such as PAN or Country Music in 2019, and self-released her EP Mere Noises in 2018. “The mix INTROLUDO is built around Interludes and Intros - sonic interstices that often allow musicians to be their most vulnerable and reveal the psyche behind their project.” Her work highlights the intersection between forgotten mythologies, memory and alienation. Whether she explores black french music erasure with her film and performance Collective Amnesia : In Memory of Logobi (2018), reflects on the idea of progress and linearity of time with Necessary Evil (2019) or dives into her own family history and indulges in sonic hauntology with Kiss & Tell (2020), music always occupies a place of choice in her work. During a residency at Wysing in August 2020 she will be working on her new sonic piece Poison Paradise 0, demystifying the supposed heavenly nature of the French Caribbean life. mobilegirl is a Munich-born-and-raised and Berlin-based DJ and producer. Her endeavours are best described as a constant stretch of the comfortable and the finding of a new comfort therein. Reflecting a general personal stance, as well as a result of her upbringing, mobilegirl's inspirations draw from a broad pool that makes her rather difficult to categorize. Being quite uninhibited but thoughtful in her selection, her style behind the decks is focused on a highly energetic dancefloor but allows for emotionality, for softer moments but also attention-demanding breaks.
