JEC Philippines has been awarded the contract for the design, supply and installation of the Computer Room Air- Conditioning (CRAC) Units and an Uninterruptible Power Supply system at City of Dreams, Manila Bay, a casino, hotel, retail and entertainment property being developed by MCE Leisure (Philippines) Corporation.

JEC will be responsible for a series of works at the data centre at City of Dreams, including the supply of labour, materials and consumables for hauling, lifting, and the installation of Citec Precision Air-Conditioning Units (PACU), as well as the design, supply and installation of the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system.

Completion of the works is scheduled for mid-2014.

JEC Provides Upgrades for Yuen Long Sewage Treatment Works 怡和機器為元朗污水處理廠的輸送管及壓縮機升級

JEC was awarded the contract to upgrade transfer pipes and compressors for the Yuen Long Sewage Treatment Works.

The JEC project team will provide the complete design, upgrade, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of biogas pipes, hot water pipes, sludge transfer pipes, and also three sets of biogas compressors, electronic biogas, hot water and sludge fl owmeters, and a new PLC panel. This service will further enhance the biogas handling facilities to meet the growing concerns of safety and environmental issues of sewage treatment works.

The contract was awarded by the Drainage Services Department in October 2013 and is due to be completed by the end of 2016.

The Apprenticeship Programme is one of the key programmes JEC Thailand uses to recruit university and college students majoring in engineering and other areas to work with the company as an apprentice for two to four months. The programme provides the students with an opportunity to learn, practicse and develop their skills in a real working atmosphere.

During the programme, the apprentices will be supervised by mentors who will coach them through both theory and work. The jobs include cost estimating, M&E installation, Testing and Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance and other related works in JEC Business. The mentors also evaluate the performance of the apprentices.

By using a proactive approach strategy, the Apprentice Programme has been continuously enhanced. The number of students participating in the programme has been increasing signifi cantly year by year. As a result, the number of potential candidates has been increasing, putting JEC in a better position to recruit new staff.

The two-year contract requires JEC Macau to provide both quarterly and annual maintenance service inspections, cleaning, testing and reports on the electrical equipment at these facilities. JEC Caring Team Visit to Lamma Island 怡和機器義工隊探訪南丫島長者

JEC Caring Team Organised Campus Orientation for Children 怡和機器義工隊安排兒童參觀港大校園

On 26th October 2013, the JEC Caring Team entertained a group of 6 to 10-year-old children from the Hong Kong Youth Services with designed activities and games as part of a campus orientation at the University of Hong Kong. The children and JEC volunteers were divided into different teams and had to accomplish certain tasks within a designated timeline. The activities encouraged the children to hunt for campus checkpoints and improved their leadership skills and teamwork spirit.

On 20th October 2013, JEC took part in the Central Rat Race, a fundraising event for MINDSET organised by Hongkong Land. This year, eight contestants from JEC joined the Rat Race along with Tim Parker, General Manager - Corporate Finance. The JEC team dressed in tailor- made “Despicable Me” costumes and enjoyed the exciting event, which raised over HK$3 million.
