Pamidi Ph.D. December 2017 mailto:[email protected] Executive Summary Machine Learning (ML), a major component of Artificial Intelligence (AI), is rapidly evolving and significantly improving growth, profits and operational efficiencies in virtually every industry. This is being driven – in large part – by continuing improvements in High Performance Computing (HPC) systems and related innovations in software and algorithms to harness these HPC systems. However, there are several barriers to implement Machine Learning (particularly Deep Learning – DL, a subset of ML) at scale: • It is hard for HPC systems to perform and scale to handle the massive growth of the volume, velocity and variety of data that must be processed. • Implementing DL requires deploying several technologies: applications, frameworks, libraries, development tools and reliable HPC processors, fabrics and storage. This is www.cabotpartners.com hard, laborious and very time-consuming. • Training followed by Inference are two separate ML steps. Training traditionally took days/weeks, whereas Inference was near real-time. Increasingly, to make more accurate inferences, faster re-Training on new data is required. So, Training must now be done in a few hours. This requires novel parallel computing methods and large-scale high- performance systems/fabrics. To help clients overcome these barriers and unleash AI/ML innovation, Intel provides a comprehensive ML solution stack with multiple technology options. Intel’s pioneering research in parallel ML algorithms and the Intel® Omni-Path Architecture (OPA) fabric minimize communications overhead and improve ML computational efficiency at scale. -

The Lack of Interpretation at Fortresses Along the Danube in Serbia

One of the rules in tourism is that visitor demand depends on and is based on attractions. Talking about attraction interpretation necessitates is considering why a visitor at any time would like to visit a place, event or a site. Tourism in heritage sites is a relatively young and immature activity in Serbia, and the interpretation on these sites are lacking. This discussion examines the potential benefits of linking interpretation and heritage sites. Many heritage sites only recently have begun to pay serious attention to the implications of increasing visitor numbers and, that the level of tourism management and interpretation fall short of that appropriate for such important sites. Based on the literature and an exploratory study this paper argues that interpretation is essential to the management of such sites. The research focuses upon a case of Serbian fortresses, namely the observation of several well preserved fortresses along Danube river. It examines the activities and possibilities for visitation and interpretation on these fortresses, as it is considered that these fortresses have the great potential for tourism development. Rezumat. Lipsa de interpretare la cetăŃile din lungul Dunării din Serbia. Una dintre reguli în turism este aceea că cererea vizitatorilor depinde şi se bazează pe atracŃii. Interpretarea acestei reguli are în vedere raspunsul la întrebarea de ce un vizitator doreşte să viziteze intr-un anume moment, un anumit loc. -

Quality drenage is very important for coal mining. Creating a hydrodynamic model of deposit is very important as a starting sentence for successful system design to protect the mine from groundwater. Keywords: Drmno, hydrodynamic model, coal 1. INTRODUCTION Coal deposit Drmno covers land area of about 52 km2. Open pit mine Drmno is located northeast of the village of Drmno (Picture 1). East of Belgrade open pit mine Drmno is about 100 km away. Border deposits represents the Danube River in the north and the west of the river Mlava. Picture 1. Geographical position of open pit Drmno For protection of open pit Drmno from surface water, apply standard object of protection: bench channels, water-collectors, pump stations and pressure pipelines. The system of protection of groundwater in the open pit Drmno the combined type, and consists of drainage wells, sealing wall, bench channels, water collector and pump stations.
