New rolling stock from South Western Railway Arriving soon at a station near you… An entirely new class of trains will soon be entering service on all suburban lines out of Waterloo including the Guildford via Cobham and Guildford via lines. The first sets of 90 Class 701 trains are currently undergoing trials and driver training at South Western Railway depots at Wimbledon and Eastleigh before progressively entering service over the next two years. The new trains feature air conditioning, wi-fi, at-seat charging points and fully accessible toilets. SWR promises that the new Class 701s will offer a smoother, more comfortable and more reliable ride – can’t wait!
