MacDermid Wadsworth Page 2 2017 In recognition of my contributions to the work and family research community, the Work-Family Researchers’ Network created an endowment fund to support the Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellence in Research on Work and Family, which I created and have administered since 1999. 2018 Appointed Member, Committee on the Well-Being of Military Families. Wheeler Behavioral Health Champion Award, Army National Guard Behavioral Health Subcommittee. 2016 Higher Education Civic Engagement Award, Washington Center. Awarded to Purdue University in recognition of the work of the Military Family Research Institute. 2016 W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Scholarship Award, Association of Public and Land Grant Universities, awarded to the Military Family Research Institute. 2015 Seed for Success Award, given to faculty members who attract large sponsored research grants ($1,000,000 or more) to Purdue University. This award was also received in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. 2014 Nominee, Leading Light Award for Leadership, Women and High Tech Association, Indianapolis 2012 Morrill Award, created by Purdue University honor of the 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act and given to faculty at the rank of professor in recognition of outstanding career achievements that have had impact on society. The award carries a $30,000 prize. 2011 Violet Haas Award, given by the Council on the Status of Women to individuals, programs, or departments at Purdue that have facilitated the advancement of women in hiring, promotion, education and salary, or have enhanced a positive professional climate for women at the University. 2011 Hall & MacDermid (2009) was nominated by a panel of external reviewers for the annual Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellence in Work-Family Research. 2011 Invited guest, President and Mrs. Obama’s launch of the Joining Forces initiative in support of Military Families at a White House ceremony. 2010 Woman of Purdue, Recognition by Purdue Mortar Board for leadership at the university. 2010 - Re-appointed to the Institute of Medicine Committee on Readjustment Needs of Military Personnel, Veterans, and 2012 their Families for Phase Two. 2009 Invited attendee, White House signing of the National Defense Authorization Bill. 2008 Appointed to the Institute of Medicine Committee on Readjustment Needs of Military Personnel, Veterans, and their Families, Phase One. 2008 Appointed to the Department of Defense External Advisory Committee on Psychological Health of the Defense Health Board. The 14 committee members were selected by the Secretary of Defense from over 200 nominees (appointment was renewed in 2009). 2008 - Faculty Fellow, CIC Academic Leadership Program. One of 6 selected from over 40 nominees. 2009 2007 Nominee, Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, the highest honorary award presented by DoD to private citizens. Nomination was supported by the Surgeon General of the Navy and endorsed by the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs. 2006 With approval from the White House, appointed by the Secretary of Defense to the Department of Defense Task Force on Mental Health. Elected co-chair. 2006 Work-Life Legacy Award from the Families and Work Institute, awarded to ‘exemplary individuals who have made an indelible mark on the work-life movement.’ 2005 Awarded Fellow status by the National Council on Family Relations.
