ABSTRACT
Legion is a movie which tells a story about two archangels, Michael and Gabriel that are sent by God to kill the last baby who will be born on the earth before God brings destruction to human race. The movie is interesting because Michael and Gabriel are never presented in the same story in the Old Testament and New Testament. In her thesis, the writer discusses Michael’s journey as a hero and Gabriel’s as a villain. The writer also compares the descriptions of the angels’ appearance and assignment, and their religiously based art form in the Scripture to those in the Legion. The writer finds out that the descriptions of the angels’ appearance and assignments in their religiously based art form in the scripture are different from the description of angels’ appearance and assignment in the Legion.
ABSTRAK
Legion adalah film yang bercerita tentang dua malaikat tertinggi Tuhan, Michael dan Gabriel yang diutus datang ke bumi untuk membunuh bayi terakhir di bumi sebelum Tuhan memusnahkan kehidupan di bumi. Penulis merasa film ini sangat menarik karena Michael dan Gabriel tidak pernah diceritakan bersama di dalam kitab suci baik di Perjanjian Lama maupun Perjanjian Baru. Pada Skripsi ini, penulis membahas perjalanan malaikat Michael sebagai seorang pahlawan dan malaikat Gabriel sebagai tokoh antagonis. Selain itu, penulis juga membandingkan penggambaran penampilan dan tugas malaikat berdasarkan penggambaran di kitab suci dengan penampilan yang ada di Legion. Penulis menemukan bahwa penampilan dan tugas malaikat yang ada di penggambaran kitab suci dengan di film Legion berbeda.
