Total Commercial Radio Audience Measurement 21 July 2016 Survey 1 – 2016 Contact New Zealand: Libby May , July 21, 2016 – Results of the Total New Zealand 2016 T +64 27 5677 333 [email protected] Commercial Radio Audience Measurement Survey 1 conducted by GfK were released today at 1pm.

For the first time a Commercial Radio Audience Measurement Survey has been conducted across the whole of New Zealand, giving valuable insights into the strength and scope of commercial radio listening across the country. The survey was conducted over 18 weeks and sampled 10,863 people aged 10+.

Department of Statistics estimated population data at 30 June 2015 indicates approximately 4,010,000 people aged 10+ years live in New Zealand. The Total New Zealand Commercial Radio Audience Measurement Survey shows over 3,134,000 or 78.2% of them listen to a commercial radio station each week.

The new survey has shown that commercial radio continues to deliver across a wide range of demographics across New Zealand:

 People 10-17: 72.4% listen each week  People 18-34: 77.5% listen each week  People 25-44: 82.7% listen each week  People 25-54: 82.8% listen each week  People 45-64: 81.4% listen each week  People 55-74: 78.0% listen each week  Grocery Buyers: 80.8% listen each week Breakfast radio (Monday to Friday 6am-9am) delivers strong audiences GfK SE across New Zealand with over 2,384,000 people 10+ tuning in across Nordwestring 101 90419 Nuremberg Monday to Friday of an average week. Germany Breakfast results show Newstalk ZB Network with the highest share; 14.8% of commercial radio breakfast listening, followed by More FM Network with Tel. +49 911 395-0 Fax +49 911 395-2209 9.3%.
