Sleeping Beauty is a classic fairy tale which is about a beautiful princess and a handsome prince. The story happened a long time ago. There lived a king and a queen, who had no children. Luckily, after many years, the queen had a daughter. They felt very delighted so they held a great feast to celebrate the birth of their baby daughter. The king invited three fairy godmothers, and each of them brought a special gift for the little Princess. When the last fluttered over to the cradle, the fairy, called , was furious that she had not been invited to the celebration. So, she gave the baby a curse. Before the sun set on the baby’s sixteenth birthday, she would prick her finger on the spindle of a and die. To weaken the curse, the last fairy godmother said that the baby would not die but would fall into an enchanted sleep. The king and the queen were worried about the safety of their daughter. The King ordered every spinning wheel in the kingdom to be burned. The three fairy godmothers took the princess far away to a little cottage in the woods and put away their magic wands and renamed the princess, , so that Maleficent wouldn’t be able to find them. At the Princess’s sixteenth birthday, Maleficent sent her trusted pet raven to try and find her. Briar Rose felt very excited in the morning, and she joined some games, danced and sang with her friends, such as the animals and birds. A prince called Philip was enchanted by the beautiful voice coming through the tree and went to find the singer. They fell in love and danced together.

The three fairy godmothers gave Briar Rose a beautiful new gown and a delicious cake as her birthday presents. Briar Rose was heartbroken when she learnt that she could not marry the prince. They went to the palace, the raven had heard enough so he told his mistress that the search for princess was finally over. The Princess rested in a quiet room. Maleficent was waiting by a spinning wheel and she urged the Princess to touch the spinning wheel. The Princess pricked her finger on the spindle and fell on the floor. Everyone was asleep, only prince Philip’s kiss could wake up the princess .So, the fairies found Philip and brought him back to the palace. When Philip went to the palace, Maleficent and her soldiers trapped him and captured him. The fairies waved their wands and armed him with a magic shield of virtue and a sword of truth. Then, he hurled his magic sword at the dragon. Maleficent was dead. The prince kissed the princess and the princess opened her eyes. Then

1 Prince Phillip and Aurora, Sleeping Beauty, were married and lived happily ever after.

I think this story is easy to understand, I choose this book to write my book report because I think this book is very touching. My favourite character is Prince Philip because he is a brave ambitious and aggressive man. I admire him very much. He knew that the palace was very dangerous and he wasn’t afraid to rescue the princess. If I could talk to one character in the story , I would talk to the Princess because I have never seen a princess and I also want to see her .I would try to know her and make friends with her. I like the ending of this story because the prince and princess got married and it is a happy ending. I will recommend this book to other students because I think this book is very interesting!
