Maleficent is my favorite “Villain” because she's not that bad people just misunderstand her. Maleficent is a well known villain in sleeping beauty. Little do most people know, she wasn't always like this. In the earliest versions of the story, Maleficent was married to the King who cheats on her with the younger princess Talia. Maleficent orders that Talia and the King’s children must be killed, cooked and fed to her husband still the King.The children that the King had Talia were conceived of rape. The King raped Talia in her sleep! That's how Aurora came into all this .Then Maleficent orders that Talia be should be put into a large fiery pit to die. The King has Maleficent burned in place of Talia. He and Talia start a family together. Maleficent really wasn't in the wrong. she was mad because her husband cheated on her.

Every hero or villain has a backstory. In the newest version of the story, a movie just about Maleficent, you find out why she hates King Stefan. As a young fairy girl who lives in the Moors with other magical creatures. She meets a boy who later becomes King Stefan. He comes from the castle. Both lands don't get along very well. Stefan and Maleficent meet all the time and become friends as young children. When they are much older the two lands fight and Stefan must kill Maleficent for his father to prove that he is worthy. Stefan cannot bring himself to kill her, so he poisons her and cuts off her wings as proof that she is dead. Later when she wakes up there is a bird caught in a trap so she uses her magic to turn him into a human. His name is Diaval, and he agrees to spy on King Stefan for her. Maleficent puts the death spell on Aurora. The pair watch Arora grow up and eventually on Aurora's 16th birthday King Stefan wants Maleficent dead to break the curse. Maleficent eventually breaks the curse and gets her wings back, and everyone lives happily ever after.

Maleficent is known to be the most powerful Disney villain. She describes her own skills as “All the powers of Hell.” Her powers are all magic based. With her staff she can conjure up spells for example projection, divination, telepathy, superhuman strength, petrification, protection charms and teleportation. She can also make frost storms and use powerful dark magic like a forest of thorns. Her most powerful ability is that she can transform into a huge fire breathing dragon. She also has huge wings that can make strong gusts of wind.

All superheros and villans have costumes. Maleficent's is very unique. Maleficent is tall, slender and has pale green or grey skin. She has yellow eyes and horns. No one is sure if the horns are hers or a headdress. She wears a black and purple robe with bat wing like edges. She also wears a gold ring with a mysterious black stone in it. Her staff is mainly a walKing stick because she hasn't gotten use to walKing all the time. When she lost her wings she was so use to flying that she was struggling.

Maleficent's enemy is King Stefan. He betrayed her and tried to kill her. Who wouldn't have him as an enemy after that. The King cheated on her or betrayed her. Maleficent was sticKing up for herself. Maleficent’s weakness is metals.

Overall I think that Maleficent really isn't a villain because she was wronged and was sticKing up for herself. King Stefan was a jerk! Even in both stories he was the real villain. He cheated in his wife and had children with another princess in the first story and in the second, he rips off her wings and tries to kill her multiple times! Villains are so stereotyped that there is no chance for her to redeem herself. people are just so judgemental toward these villains and don't give them a chance to stick up for themselves. Maleficent on the other hand got that chance but was still criticized! In conclusion, Maleficent isn't really bad, she was just infuriated with Stefan and she is actually good.
