OWA – Finding & Bookmarking the OWA Login Page

This tutorial will show how to locate OWA (or Outlook Web Access), the tool we use to access our district email over the .

In this tutorial, we'll learn how to:

• Navigate to the district's web site, • Access the District Staff page, • Get to the OWA Login page, and • Bookmark that page (for or ), or • Mark the page as a Favorite (in ).

There are a number of ways to get to the district's OWA login page to check your email. The easiest way is to start at the District Web Site. You can get there by typing the district URL into your internet browser’s Address field. Just type in sandi.net (you don't have to worry about the http, or the www, or any slashes or colons).

...at the District Staff page, you'll probably need to scroll down, ...so you can see all of the items in the Quick section at the right.

Click Check Email (OWA Login).

The Outlook Web Access login page appears. Once you get to this District Email page, It's a good idea to Bookmark it.

Both the Firefox and Safari browsers (Browsers that run on both Macs and Windows PCs) feature a Bookmarks drop-down menu.

For 's Internet Explorer, you'll save web pages using the Favorites menu.

For this demonstration, we'll stay in Firefox, and click on Bookmarks. Select Bookmark This Page... at the top of the menu

(Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut by holding down the Ctrl key and pressing D).

All three web browsers, Internet Explorer, Firefox & Safari, allow you to Rename your new bookmark.

Once you've typed in a bookmark name, click OK.

Now when we go back to the Bookmark menu, we see that our District Email bookmark has been added to the bottom of the list.

We've stepped through the basics of Navigating from the District web site to the Outlook Web Access page, including:

• Getting to the District site, • Navigating to the OWA Login page, and • Bookmarking that page to make it easy to get back.

Now that we can find Outlook Web Access, we need to learn how to:

• Log In, • Read Emails and Open Attachments, • Reply to Email messages and delete old or unneeded messages, and • Use some of the other features within OWA, like • Options to set your signature, • the Calendar feature to keep track of your schedule, and • Contacts to save email addresses and contact information
