Miro Cerar je častni pokrovitelj 3. Akademsko gospodarskega kongresa – AEC 2016. Pozdravni nagovor direktorice Life Learning Academie Marjetke Kastner, mag. posl. ved Začetki povezovanja znanj in izkušenj Osem let mineva, odkar sem pričela z odkrivanjem učinkov povezovanja in prenosa znanj. Marjetka Kastner Life Learning Academia, direktorica The Beginnings of Knowledge and Experience Connection It has been eight years since I first encountered the effects of knowledge connection and transfer. The first steps were anything but easy. Not many colleagues and others were enthusiastic about this, ensuring me that these processes had been going on for several years already and that this had already been common practice. Information from various sources led me to realize that these many projects and collaborations had actually been active, but I later realized that such collaborations had been established as an answer to various calls for tenders. Once the tenders were closed, the collaborations ended. What a shame! To end something that had been established and for which the basic elements had been laid down, and should have been followed by development?! The rest was written in the form of reports, and such documentation was either archived or published in accordance with the rules of the tenders. And that was all there was to it. Yet, on the other hand, we are all emphasising that change is the only constant, the driving force of development, creativity and the way to a better life. Are we really unable to establish permanent programmes based not just on a two to four-year-long strategy but on a strategy that ensures continuity and permanent development? This was the question I was asking myself all the time. But there was a certain moment when changes and turn-overs occurred. It was the year 2012. I received an opportunity to get into contact with some directors at a meeting at the University of Maribor. Most of them were facing the same problem. They had development departments, but were realizing that there were no permanent connections between business and the school system. I am really glad that they did not have any doubts about me when I presented the programme of the Life Learning Academia which covered this gap with one of its activities. The first collaborations started; they were followed by others and new projects began to open up. We have become a global family. A group of organizations and individuals forming a common way. It is not always easy, but together we are strong, assertive and loud. We have made good business ties that inspire us when we start losing our strength, when we think we will stop. This is what we see as a new approach and method of collaboration. I hope it stays that strong, expands and upgrades also in the future. Thankful for everything that has been built, transferred, newly formed, I am welcoming you to the third Academic Economic Congress (AEC) where we will talk about the effects of connections. Marjetka Kastner Life Learning Academia, Director Pozdravni nagovor predsednice Učečih se organizacij mag. Hvala, ker jo soustvarjate, podpirate, nesebično delite in si upate. Mag. Andreja Jernejčič, predsednica Učečih se organizacij Each and every one of you is a gem I am lucky to be able to meet exceptional people on my path of life and work. Exceptional, as you are, with your knowledge and experience. Meeting new people always brings something special into my life. I can learn something, get a new perspective or thought from each and every one of them. Sometimes without even realizing. I was lucky enough to sit next to Thoraya Al Awadhi, a successful business woman from Dubai, at a gathering of spectacular women. Even though we only chatted over a cup of tea with the princess, who is related to the sheikh, you could feel a certain energy in the air. The words had a power, that can bring new ideas and projects to life. I always long for this feeling. That is why every encounter is an opportunity you can – 'count' on.

1 JULIAN ALPS TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK www.slovenia.info 2The Julian Alps The Julian Alps are the southeast- ernmost part of the Alpine arc and at the same time the mountain range that marks the border between Slo- venia and Italy. They are usually divided into the East- ern and Western Julian Alps. The East- ern Julian Alps, which make up approx- imately three-quarters of the range and cover an area of 1,542 km2, lie entirely on the Slovenian side of the border and are the largest and highest Alpine range in Slovenia. The highest peak is Triglav (2,864 metres), but there are more than 150 other peaks over 2,000 metres high. The emerald river Soča rises on one side of the Julian Alps, in the Primorska re- gion; the two headwaters of the river Sava – the Sava Dolinka and the Sava Bohinjka – rise on the other side, in the Gorenjska region. The Julian Alps – the kingdom of Zlatorog According to an ancient legend a white chamois with golden horns lived in the mountains. The people of the area named him Zlatorog, or “Goldhorn”. He guarded the treasures of nature. One day a greedy hunter set off into the mountains and, ignoring the warnings, tracked down Zlatorog and shot him. Blood ran from his wounds Chamois The Triglav rose and fell to the ground. Where it landed, a miraculous plant, the Triglav rose, sprang up. Zlatorog ate the flowers of this plant and its magical healing powers made him invulnerable. At the same time, however, he was saddened by the greed of human beings.

The method is based on the expert assessment and comprises three main steps: (1) identification of the independent experts considering their expertise and knowledge of the local context; (2) identification of the local stakeholders based on expert assessment; and (3) analytical categorisation of stakeholders taking into account the professional relationship network. Using forest biomass (bioenergy) production as example, the stakeholder analy- sis is illustrated on the case study of Triglav National Park, which is characterised by a high potential of woody biomass production and a large number of stakeholders involved in land use and management.

INTRODUCTION The European Diploma for Protected Areas was awarded to the Triglav National Park in 2004. An on-the-spot appraisal was undertaken in 2008 and subsequently the Diploma was renewed in 2009, for a ten years period. 10 recommendations were attached to the renewal decision CM/ResDip(2009)8 of 21 October 2009. I visited the Park on 4th – 6th September 2018. The visit was very well organised by the Park’s staff and I warmly thank all those who participated in the mission and the discussions. They all showed a deep commitment in favour of their area and they very thoroughly answered to all the questions during the field and indoor discussions. The mission actually was very short in regards to the size and geographical complexity of the area; however due to my previous knowledge of the park I could have a very comprehensive overview of the situation and the current challenges. I met also representatives of local authorities and from the tourism sector. In addition, I met 2 of the former Park directors, Mrs Marija Zupančič-Vičar and Mr Peter Skoberne.
