The Easton-McCarney Memorial Fund was established in 1973 as a living memorial to two student leaders in the Faculty of Social Work – John Easton and Christopher McCarney – who died in a car accident. The goal of the fund is to bring distinguished individuals to Laurier to speak to the University and professional communities. The Easton-McCarney lecturers are chosen by the fund's trustees and program planning committee to reflect social issues of interest to both professional social workers and the community as a whole. Scope and content This fonds contains records of the Easton McCarney Memorial Lectures presented by the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University.
