Social Secretary Lyn again produced a very special themed party night. Attendance at this function is growing year by year, and the imaginative costumes reflect the friendly spirit within the club. Congratulations to the trophy winners, particularly to Club Champion Chris Wren and the crew of frequentflyer. The competition was very close with runner up Hasta La Vista only 8 points adrift. The experiment of breaking the year into four series of races has received positive feedback and will continue, with some fine tuning, in 2017. Planning is underway for the B2G Race, and some exciting new features are to be announced soon. Stay tuned!! Cruising events on Moreton Bay this year seemed to be affected by weather, with several cancelled, but with the exception of the November cruise to beautiful Lucinda Bay. Those big multis which sailed north for the regattas enjoyed great sailing conditions in the north, but experienced a mixed bag of conditions for the passages. Renaissance and PurrFik did manage leisurely cruises north. There will be no organized Christmas Cruise this year as all effort is going towards a Gladstone Cruise, similar to the 50th Anniversary Cruise, built around the race during Easter 2017.
