Glyn Jones, OBE Principal Welsh Language/Bilingual Provision Pembrokeshire College is committed to promoting the use of the Welsh language and meeting the needs of Welsh speaking students and members of the public. Welsh speaking students are able to undertake aspects of their course such as induction, tutorials, oral and written assessment and Essential Skills either through the medium of Welsh or bilingually and are also able to receive bilingual support in order to maintain and develop their Welsh language/bilingual skills. Non-Welsh speaking students are also given the opportunity to acquire Welsh language skills either within their chosen programme of study or as part of the College's Enrichment and Enhancement programme. We’ll treat you like an adult and you’ll be encouraged to study independently but our team of highly qualified experts will always be on hand to provide help and support when you need it. College students receive the best support in preparation for university and careers. Our A-Level students consistently gain good A-Level results (99% pass rate 2010/11) and receive substantial help in completing their UCAS applications resulting in excellent progression opportunities to degree courses at the UK’s top universities. Helping students to gain progression to medical degrees is a particular speciality of the A-Level support staff at the College. The large choice of AS and A-Levels available (see opposite page) are timetabled as part of the North Pembrokeshire Federation – an agreement between the College, Sir Thomas Picton, Tasker Milward, Ysgol Bro Gwaun, Ysgol Dewi Sant and Portfield Special schools. Free transport between each centre is provided.
