GIRLS - ALLOWED GIRLS - NOT ALLOWED

Knit sweaters/ knit cardigans may be worn over collared shirts.
*Winter Dress: After Thanksgiving recess until Spring Recess Girls may replace their blazers with a knit sweater over their collared shirt when wearing pants. If wearing a turtleneck-style sweater a blazer must be worn with pants.

Special Events are important traditions at Rumsey Hall. Keeping modesty in mind, skirts and dresses should be no more than 3 inches above the knee, conservative dress tops may be strapless, halter or spaghetti strap, dress tops should fall mid-back, in line with bottom of shoulder blades. No cut-outs. Shoe heels should be no higher than three inches.
COMMENCEMENT
White dress with conservative neckline and back. Hemline no more than 3 inches above the knee (slips may be necessary). Shoes or sandals with a low heel.
Upper School Girls’ Dress Code
DRESS COLLARED SHIRTS: Girls may wear dress collared shirts, oxford and polo shirts for School Dress.

FORMAL SCHOOL DRESS SHIRT Girls must wear solid white or blue oxford-style shirt on Formal School Dress days.
Examples:
DRESS PANTS, SLACKS, TROUSERS: Pants or slacks may be of any color. Chino/khaki cotton twill fabric, linen, and corduroy are acceptable. Slim leg/ankle pants are permitted. Pants may not be jeans or made of denim material. Lycra leggings with or without pockets are not considered School Dress pants.

Skirt lengths should be no more than 3 inches above the knee. Skirts should not have side slits.
