Seyie Putsure founded Seyie Design to create fashionable & functional branded interiors for luxury and design-conscious residential and beauty, fashion & lifestyle companies. Having started her career as an executive with Saks Fifth Avenue, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana in New York City, she brings a deep understanding of branding, merchandising and special consumer experience strategy, and a high level of sophistication into the interiors that Seyie Design creates.

Since its founding in 2007, Seyie Design’s body of work has

grown internationally to include corporate office, mixed-use

development, retail, high-end salons and spas, boutique bakeries, event lounges and private residences. Seyie was Fendi Casa’s Designer of the Month, the exclusive designer for the 54th and 55th

Annual GRAMMY Awards® Official Talent Gift Lounge, and has

been featured in TIME, LUCK Y , V o gue, Elle, and DDI Magazine,

among others. She has also been named by Vogue India as one of “the new women of interiors.” Understanding an individual’s personal style or a company’s brand image, along with their unique lifestyle or practical business needs, Seyie Design works directly with clients on all levels to discover the best harmony for spaces from concept to execution. It balances fashionable interiors that capture the essence of the individual or company’s brand identity, and functional spaces that support lifestyle or promote business productivity. Seyie Design creates environments

that evoke specific emotional responses for clients; spaces that are filled with character and soul while enhancing their

life or business.

Seyie earned her Bachelor’s degree from Clark University and graduated from UCLA Extension’s Professional Interior

Design program. She is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers and a member of the Costume

Council at LACMA.

This paper takes up the study of fashion with a "theoretical facelift." English as an original theoretical framework delineates fashion's communicative frameworks as cloth, drape and belt, this work analyses the conceptual meaning of runway performances. Profundiza en un estudio semántico de las composiciones relacionadas con la "etno-iconografía" desarrolladas por tres ediciones occidentales de Vogue desde 1948 a 2016. Para esta investigación, hemos examinado 100 editoriales fotográficos. Ortner, Chair This dissertation is about the making of the Indian fashion designer and highlights how the birth of the industry has fashioned new subjects and subjectivities. It traces constitutive shifts and tensions in the fashion industry over the last three decades, including the rise of bridal wear or couture, the appropriation of craft and resistances to it, and the return of ready-to-wear production via e-commerce. I argue that the professional identity of the fashion designer was crafted in opposition to the low-skilled darzi (tailor) and distinct from the ‘traditional’ craftsman with low cultural capital. However, while the designer’s identity was originally celebrated as modern, creative, and entrepreneurial, paradoxically, the most successful designers are those who appropriate and prioritize craft above his or her own skill. To make this argument, this dissertation engages with, and contributes to, scholarship on class and caste in India, anthropological literature on fashion and other creative industries, as well as work on kinship and family.
