Et si vous débranchez l'appareil, aucune de vos données personnelles ne sera 2 laissée sur l'ordinateur. » Compatibilité Les programmes sur PortableApps.com sont des programmes informatiques qui peuvent être stockés sur un périphérique de stockage portable et, ou amovible, sans être installés sur l'ordinateur hôte. Les applications fournies par PortableApps.com sont des versions modifiées des logiciels existants, qui fonctionnent à partir de l'accès direct sur des supports permettant la lecture et l'écriture, y compris les lecteurs flash, lecteurs MP3, disques durs externes, disquettes (si la capacité est suffisante), ou même à partir d'un ordinateur sur son propre disque dur. Les applications sont installées dans des dossiers individuels afin que les modifications se limitent au dossier et ne laissent pas de traces sur le système hôte. Étant donné que l'application utilise la RAM de l'ordinateur hôte, elle ne modifie pas les paramètres de la base de registre et elle n'exige pas l'utilisation des privilèges administratifs. Historique PortableApps.com a commencé comme un script pour lancer Firefox à 4 partir d'un lecteur flash . John T. Haller a ensuite élargi le projet pour inclure la version portable de Mozilla Thunderbird et OpenOffice.org. Face au succès des applications portables, John T. Haller transféra les programmes sur un nouveau site communautaire qui sert maintenant de lieu afin de centraliser les connaissances et les efforts de développement de plusieurs projets d'applications portables. Mozilla Firefox es un navegador web multiplataforma, que funciona en distintos sistema operativos, Windows, Linux, MacOS, etc... Es un producto gratuito y de código abierto, “open source”. Once again, the Handbook has been revised and updated to reflect the evolution of this discipline, and the many strategic, operational and technical challenges OSINT practitioners have to grapple with. Given the speed of change on the web, some might question the wisdom of pulling together such a resource. What’s wrong with the Top 10 tools, or the Top 100? There are only so many resources one can bookmark after all. Such arguments are not without merit. My fear, however, is that they are also shortsighted. I offer four reasons why. To begin, a shortlist betrays the widening spectrum of OSINT practice. Whereas OSINT was once the preserve of analysts working in national security, it now embraces a growing class of professionals in fields as diverse as journalism, cybersecurity, investment research, crisis management and human rights. A limited toolkit can never satisfy all of these constituencies. Second, a good OSINT practitioner is someone who is comfortable working with different tools, sources and collection strategies. The temptation toward narrow specialisation in OSINT is one that has to be resisted. Why? Because no research task is ever as tidy as the customer’s requirements are likely to suggest. Third, is the inevitable realisation that good tool awareness is equivalent to good source awareness. Indeed, the right tool can determine whether you harvest the right information.
