There will be no Camp Sunrise or Sunset Week 10. Field Trips Week 10 25 Fees: $25 per week for each hour chosen. Class Descriptions 26 - 29 Field Trip Weeks 1 & 6: $5 per hour per day. Lunch Information 29 For your child’s safety, all students enrolled in Camp Sunrise must be signed into class by a parent or guardian. Valley View Early Learning Center 30 Parent sign-out is required for Camp Sunset. Students should arrive no earlier than their designated time. Get Ready for Middle School! For Incoming 6th Graders Tuesday, July 28th - Friday, July 31st $60 Esperero 6th Grade Boot Camp Kids, worried about middle school? Parents, are you concerned that your student will be lost and won't know what to do in that new world that is middle school? This is a mini-camp for incoming 6th graders right before school starts to help students get ready for the year. Taught by Jason Grobe and staff, students will learn about study skills, learning styles, time management, schedules, writing, note taking, grading procedures, and generally everything you need to know to start the school year out confident and successful! Don't just worry and hope things go well; take control of your success and sign up today! Instructor: Jason Grobe Sessions: 8:30am - 10am, 10:30am - 12pm, or 1:00 - 2:30pm (Register for only one) Orange Grove 6th Grade Prep Camp This is a mini-camp for incoming Orange Grove Middle School 6th Graders right before school starts to help students get ready for the year. Taught by Carol Schaedler and staff, students will learn the secrets to be successful in Middle School. Students will learn everything from what supplies they will need, figuring out how to keep organized, to learning how to use StudentVUE. Don’t just worry and hope things go well; take control of your success and sign up today! Student Safety •Students must be enrolled in class or supervised at all times while on campus between 7:00am-6:00pm. •Students are not permitted to leave campus on their own at any time. •Please only use the designated Camp Foothills doors to drop off or pick up your student. •All visitors must check in and get a visitor sticker at the entrance to Camp Foothills. •Students should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to class. Lemmon Bound 3-8 mile hikes daily, 1500-3000 ft in elevation change. Moderate physical exertion sustained for longer periods of time. Supportive soled shoes required. No flat soled shoes permitted. Suitable for those with moderate outdoor experiences. Students should have some experience hiking prior to this camp. Join us for a week of adventure as we escape the Tucson heat and head up to Mt. Lemmon. Hike a different trail each day ranging from 2-5 miles on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday with day trips up the mountain. Thursday will be our overnight adventure in the wilderness! Thursday morning we will set up camp at Showers Point campground and then go out for a long hike. Spend the night under the stars and then return to school on Friday with tales of our experience. During the week learn outdoor survival skills, knot tying, practice orienteering & map reading skills, observe wildlife and keep a detailed journal of your discoveries during the week. An itinerary and pack list will be emailed prior to the start of camp. Mini-Mt. Lemmon Bound Guides: Jessica Harris & Polly Tanner 1-3 mile hikes daily, 500-1500 ft in elevation change. Moderate physical Grades: 4-8 exertion sustained for short periods of time. Supportive soled shoes Week 4: June 15-19, 2020 required. No flat soled shoes permitted. Suitable for those with Fee: $315 beginning outdoor experiences. June 15-17th: 9:00 am Drop-off - 4:00pm Pick-up @ CFHS This week is for the beginner hiker and outdoor adventurer! Get to know June 18th: Depart @ 9:00am from CFHS Tucson’s fun summer escape with day hikes on Mt. Lemmon. Be introduced to Leave No Trace techniques, basic survival skills, map reading and plant June 19th: Return @ 4:00pm & animal identification as you become more comfortable with the natural world! Hike different trails each morning and enjoy a team building lesson and activity in the afternoon! Friday lunch will be a campfire cookout complete with Smores’! An itinerary and pack list will be emailed prior to Southern Arizona Riparian the start of camp. Wetlands Exploration! Guides: Jessica Harris & Polly Tanner Grades: 3-5 Less than 3 miles and 500ft elevation change. Low to moderate physical Week 2: June 1-5, 2020 9:00am - 4:00pm exertion. Supportive soled shoes required. No flat soled shoes Fee: $240 permitted. Suitable for those with beginning outdoor experiences. Think you can’t find water in the desert in the summer? Think again! Join us for a week of adventure as we visit riparian areas like the De Anza Southern Arizona Hop-thru-History and Sweetwater Wetlands, the Sonoita Creek Preserve and Ramsey Canyon, the hummingbird capital of the world! We will even try to visit Geocaching Adventure! the San Pedro, Gila and Salt Rivers. If the idea of scouting for birds, observing and discovering the bio-diversity of our native waterways, or 1-3 mile hikes daily, 500-1500 ft in elevation change.
