PRESIDENT’S REPORT 2016-2017

As President of CURLSASK, I embarked on a mission to promote and develop curling in . I was dedicated to improving the image of curling and provide leadership to the CURLSASK Board of Directors and the CURLSASK Executive Director. Together, we continually assessed and improved our services and programs for the curling community.

Perhaps one year is not enough time to make a difference. Perhaps it is. With dedication and commitment, we were able to achieve many of the goals we had set forth for my year as President. I tactfully dealt with the flipped out turns that came my way and took great pride in celebrating the perfect draws to the pin that we experienced as a sport governing body.

Contributing to my success was the exemplary mentorship and guidance I received from Past-President, Dennis Smith. Dennis allowed me to grow as a leader and, through and transparent communication, made sure that I was ready to hit the ice sliding when it was my turn to throw. My working relationship with incoming President, Mitch Minken, is second to none. My weaknesses were overcome by his strengths and vice versa. We were a powerful team both provincially and nationally. Together, we lead CURLSASK to put the best interest of curling front and center in every decision we made.

Although my car may complain, the hours spent driving to events, meetings, and sendoffs paid off in exponential dividends as I made many new friends and acquaintances. I did my best to help our members to understand the purpose of CURLSASK, the future of CURLSASK and how CURLSASK benefits them as a member. With the support of my fiancé, Brad Bibby, I was able to focus on making connections with our members while he ate pasta and sauce night after night.

I look at the nasty emails, phone calls, text messages, cracks on Twitter and the odd threat to be sued, as a positive reflection of my approachability and willingness to listen and work with player members and member clubs. Together, we are all yearning for the growth and development of curling in Saskatchewan and together it is happening. Although some clubs are seeing a decline in their number of members, other are seeing an improvement. Many clubs are seeing the benefit of junior programs as their young stars are starting to shine on the provincial and stage. There is nothing better than handing out a green jacket. Period.

CURLSASK is not just a job for our employees. It is a passion. They live, eat and breathe curling and give of their time in and out of work hours to the success of our programs and events. For this, I commend and thank them. CURLSASK could not run without the countless volunteers at the club and provincial level. Thank you to those who have, and continue to, give of their time and expertise for the hopes and dreams of others. The CURLSASK Board of Directors is a volunteer group of individuals who, for varying reasons, make a commitment to provide direction for CURLSASK. I don't think anyone completely understands the magnitude and scope of the work that CURLSASK does prior to joining the Board of Directors. The doughy eyed look in new Directors eyes is an indication of their realization that they are part of something much bigger than competition format and residency rules. As part of CURLSASK, our Staff and Board of Directors are part of a team that provides direction for all facets and levels of curling in Saskatchewan and represents curling in Saskatchewan at a national level with Curling Canada. The CURLSASK team exemplifies the values of CURLSASK. They are leaders, team players, accessible, approachable, innovative, responsible and accountable and I thank them for their continued commitment to the sport I love.

Thank you, Saskatchewan, for giving me the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the many aspects of curling and for trusting that I could make the right call when it mattered most. 'The worst battle you have to fight is between what you know and what you feel.', UNKNOWN

Yours in curling, Patricia Yeske President CURLSASK 2016 - 2017

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT 2016-2017

The 2016 -2017 curling season has come and gone and it has been a year of great change for our organization. From an operational perspective, I am pleased to report it has been a successful year. We experienced a number of staffing changes, including my first year as Executive Director. Overall, pleased with the position of the organization and happy to report we have finished the year on budget.

The CURLSASK administration is pleased that we maintained reasonably consistent in our number of curling clubs for the 2016-2017 season at 132-member curling clubs. A total of 5 Associate Members renewed their membership with CURLSASK. The total player membership for CURLSASK, including Associate Members, for 2016-2017 was 15,161 (14,056 regular player members and 1,105 under 12 years of age). This was the third year of the per member fee and most curling clubs are accustomed to the process.

Technology was a major contributor to the change we experienced this year. Our office staff transitioned from an office based server to Google drive. This has allowed for less duplication in files, remote access and decreased costs. Another major project was the renewed CURLSASK website. Our team devoted countless hours, over the summer months, to launch an updated and more mobile friendly website. The project allowed us to work closely with our friends at Curling Canada. We hope our members are as pleased with the results as we are! Our organization was rewarded for its hard work by the renewed website seeing an 82% increase in Google Ad revenues. We look forward to the next chapters for our website and online registration systems.

On January 25, 2017, we celebrated the third annual Provincial Day of Curling in Saskatchewan. Each year we have seen more traction and uptake from our member curling clubs. In year three, we brought Provincial Day of Curling to a new level by involving the Saskatchewan Roughriders, The Sports Cage and Access Communications in the celebration. We also saw an impressive uptake from our member clubs who hosted events such as Human Curling and open houses after receiving funds from CURLSASK.

I attended national meetings and Curling Canada’s AGM this past season. This was an eye-opening experience – It was beneficial to meet with fellow Executive Directors across the country and discuss things from club development, competitions and high performance. I stepped forward to represent Saskatchewan on a number of national committees including Communications Protocols, Residency, Wheelchair and Curling IO implementation. I continue to take part in regular meetings with the Operations Advisory Council.

This past year I was assigned as staff support to the Executive, Finance & Audit, Strategic Planning Committees and Volunteer Screening Committee. I am presently the Chair of the Competition Committee, as per the CURLSASK Bylaws – see the Competition Committee Report for additional information.

I assist the Executive Committee with the coordination of meetings throughout the year and update them on information from Curling Canada, Sask Sport, CURLSASK competitions issues and member curling clubs. I also ensure that the sponsorships and partnerships that CURLSASK are presently engaged in are positive, while continuing to look for future opportunities. In 2016-2017, we brought new sponsors on board and renewed old partnerships to leverage those relationships to benefit our organization and our members. Jet Ice has stepped up to become the title sponsor of our Ice Technicians Courses. There are numerous benefits to this new agreement, our host clubs to receive a Jet Ice credit; CURLSASK a major cost savings on in ice logos; and a financial contribution. We were pleased to renew our agreement with Ramada Hotels in Regina and Saskatoon – we now take advantage of a rebate program. We also benefited from enhanced sponsorship from Viterra to sponsor our Youth Programs. The sponsorship was used to increase the grants to host curling clubs and help support the continued development of the FUNCURL program. Additional supplier and partner contracts were renegotiated which led to thousands of dollars in savings.

For the Finance Committee, I assisted in the preparation of the 2017-2018 Annual Budget, the 2015-2016 Sask Sport Follow-up, and the 2018-2019 Sask Sport Funding Application. This year also saw the formal three-year Funding Assessment of CURLSASK. In 2016, CURLSASK was assessed, and was graded “Good”. This result remains consistent with the 2010 and 2013 assessments. The office manager, Shirley Stefanson, prepares the monthly financial statements that are reviewed by the Board. The audit process is completed immediately following year-

5

end. Shirley and I work with the auditor to provide the detail they require. We continue to be impressed by KPMG and their great work to turn around our audit in such a tight time frame.

The Strategic Planning Committee is tasked with creating and monitoring the operational plans. The staff created an Operational Plan from this Strategic Plan to assist in ensuring the plan details were followed and objectives/targets were met. The staff meets quarterly to review and update the document in advance of Committee meetings. Looking into the future year we will see the Strategic Planning committee review the strategic plan.

The Volunteer Screening Committee is still relatively new. The committee oversees the screening of volunteers to ensure participation at CURLSASK sanctioned events is safe. I was responsible for ensuring the requirements of volunteers were met. This included coaches working with junior or youth athletes provide a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search. I was responsible for the initial communication to coaches, ensuring documents submitted, reviewing all documents and forwarding any concerns to the Screening Committee to review.

The staff continues to be busy all year round with the operations of CURLSASK including the administration of Coach, Officials and Ice Tech education, the CURLSASK awards program, Youth Camps and Clinics, Competitions, Athletes with a Disability programming and much more.

The administration staff of myself, Shirley Stefanson, Anne Marie Dezotell and Mat Ring work very well together. I thank Shirley and Anne Marie for providing consistency to our members and competitions and their experience to provide historical perspective. I am appreciative of my team’s patience with me as I was often learning on the fly. In September, Mat Ring joined our organization and has taken our social media and website to a new level. We are now the leader amongst all provincial and territorial curling associations in Facebook likes! We pride ourselves on working hard for our members, being approachable and forward thinking. As a staff, we worked together to provide a high-performance program for 11 teams in the province, and to all of our provincial champions. In the absence of a High-Performance Coach, I thank the administration staff and numerous consultants for lending a hand to ensure this important service continued to be provided to our teams.

In my first year as Executive Director, I had the opportunity to attend numerous CURLSASK competitions and see the talent of our athletes first hand. I am struck by the passion of our athletes and coaches. I had the opportunity to meet with our Junior Women’s champions shortly after their first junior provincial championship in Melfort. The girls were extremely excited to represent our province. I was energized by their passions for our sport. This was a true high point in the season for me. There is nothing better than winning a green jacket! I was energized and motivated by our hard-working volunteer base – your willingness to pitch in is second to none.

My sincerest thank you to the CURLSASK Board of Directors, the Region Coordinators and their Assistant Coordinators, Officials, Facilitators, Clinicians and all the curling membership for their continued efforts to volunteer their time for curling in the province. We simply cannot do it without you!

Respectfully submitted, Ashley Howard, Executive Director

PROVINCIAL HIGH PERFORMANCE COACH’S REPORT 2016-2017

With the departure of long time High Performance Coach Wayne Kiel in early fiscal 17, this year’s training program looked different than years past. Office staff picked up the extra responsibilities of the position, including the training program, HP Camps, champions meetings and coaching certifications. A special thank you to Jason Ackerman who administered the fall high performance camp featuring 12 teams from around the province.

The focus of the high-performance program remains centered around the following major areas of operation: the Training Group teams, High Performance camps, and instruction to all interested High Performance curling teams, individual athletes, coaches and preparation for our teams attending national championships.

The CURLSASK High Performance Training Group Program We are fortunate to partner with the Saskatchewan Sports Medicine and Science Council to provide 11 selected teams with a comprehensive program that will assist and allow them to achieve status in provincial and national events. The teams in the High-Performance Program are identified by using the existing CURLSASK playdown structure for Men’s, Women’s, and Junior’s.

The provincial men’s, women’s winners, along with the junior team’s winners and runner ups are offered a direct berth into the program if they have at least three of their winning team members remaining.

Selected teams are provided with up to six technical sessions with CURLSASK High Performance consultants and up to six hours of allotted time with the Saskatchewan Sport Medicine and Science Program; where teams can access guidance and program development in the following areas: nutrition, fitness, and sport psychology. Teams were also provided space on our website to advertise/thank their main team sponsor.

Once teams were confirmed, a group conference call was held to inform the HP members of the benefits of the program and the resources available to them. This year the program was extended to a mixed doubles team.

Teams accepted into the High-Performance Program 2016-2017 were: Women’s Teams Men’s Teams Team Campbell Team Laycock Team Mitchell Team Jacobson Team Silvernagle Team Dales Team Eberle Team Kleiter Team Jones Team Ackerman Team Team Martin/Schneider

Provincial Championship Teams Following the final of their respective provincial championship, Ashley Howard met to review the national competitor guide and provided a presentation to the team to help prepare for the national championship. In addition, teams were provided six hours of on ice consultation with or a High-Performance Consultant of their choice. The teams also received funding from CURLSASK and six hours of time with the Saskatchewan Sport Medicine and Science consultants.

MARKETING & MEMBER SERVICES REPORT 2016-2017 Hello everyone,

My first year in the Marketing & Membership Coordinator position has been a learning curve to say the least. This year I built on tasks that had been focused on in the past while my comfort and confidence grew. This season flew by and I did not feel like I wanted to do all that I had planned to do. Now that one full season has passed, I can prepare myself for my basic tasks, and start implementing my ideas I have for the future of curling. I will take some time during the offseason to do some research and gather information for the upcoming 2017/2018 season. I would like to encourage and would appreciate everyone to take the time to fill out the survey I have emailed out to club contacts, which will help me gain a better understanding of what went well, what we need to work on, and to help us prepare for a successful upcoming season.

Marketing

Our social media platforms are an easy tool for CURLSASK to get information to a large number of people, and will use every ounce of it’s ability. Since I started in September, it was one of my main goals to promote and create awareness for curling in Saskatchewan. I strive to create a balance of information for all curlers. We currently have three platforms that we use to deliver information to the world; Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We have also created a promotional YouTube account which was motivated by the fantastic Board of Directors on the Participation and Development Committee. We will continue to information that advertise, promote and engage all types of curlers.

The CURLSASK staff has worked closely with Glenn Van Gulik and Curling Canada over the past year on the new CURLSASK website. The fresh revamp of our website will create a more effective and efficient resource for current and prospective curlers and fans. We appreciate feedback and would suggest comments submitted in the survey I will be sending out. We hope everyone is pleased with all of our services.

Development & Participation

Although a challenge at times, I focused much of my attention on the promotion, preparing, and instructing of curling clinics across the province. Once we get the participants out to the club, they always have a blast taking part in curling. The trouble is that we struggle to compete for time and precious dollars allocated by Saskatchewanians for sport and recreation purposes. We will continue to target school aged children and work closely with schools to increase awareness and participation. I enjoy working with children. I find it refreshing when they say they would love to curl again! I already have in clubs/schools interested in next year and I have ideas of activities to change up clinic material to keep the kids interested!

Summary

My sincere thanks to all the helping hands that assisted in organizing and putting on the various youth spiels, clinics, and programming this past curling season. Without the efforts of all the local volunteers throughout the province, these events simply would not exist and the opportunities for all our youth participants would not be available. Our corporate sponsor of Viterra for our youth clinics and for sponsoring for their financial generosity assisting clubs around the province to put on these events.

As a new employee to the organization, I appreciated the warm and welcoming hospitality and greetings from each club I attended. I was overwhelmed and greatly appreciated the kindness from each club and cannot wait to revisit these clubs in the future. I look forward to visiting new clubs to experience the greatness of the curling communities that our province has. The assistance that everyone provided to help me ease into my position, I appreciate all the feedback to help me grow and be even better in my role.

Moving forward, I feel that more on-site visits to clubs and becoming in touch with what is going on around the province will definitely be a focus of mine. I look forward to the upcoming curling season and the opportunities it has in store.

The curling community consists of some of the most genuine people in our province. They are participation in curling increase in their community. They want everyone to have a chance to curl. We all have a common love for the game. The spirit in this province is outstanding, and it will be a key ingredient in the recipe for the success of curling for many years to come.

Yours in curling,

Mat Ring Marketing & Membership Services Coordinator

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT 2016-2017

CURLSASK Executive Committee Members 2016 - 2017; Patricia Yeske, President Mitch Minken, Vice-President Chad Gareau, Finance Officer Ashley Howard, CURLSASK Executive Director

The CURLSASK Executive Committee leads the CURLSASK Board of Directors and CURLSASK Executive Director by providing policy development and a budget which guides the operation and day to day workings of our sport governing body. The Executive Committee strives to have a positive relationship with all of our stakeholders. CURLSASK received a positive review from Sask Sport this past season and we are proud of the renewed and strengthened relationship we have with Curling Canada. Curling Canada meetings were attended in person and via conference call and tasks assigned were completed in a timely and professional manner.

We are extremely pleased with the work of our staff. In particular, kudos to our newest staff members, Ashley Howard and Mat Ring, as they tackle new challenges and continue to show professionalism and growth within CURLSASK. Ashley has committed the time to developing strong relationships throughout the curling community and Mat's work with our social media platforms has taken our communication and branding to new heights.

The whole Executive Committee continues to work as a cohesive unit and has implemented several strategies for a smooth transition between members and leadership. At times, we are hampered by the short length of our Executive Committee terms and this is reflected in our initial discomfort at national meetings. The Executive Committee has committed to improving communication methods and looking at ways to preserve and transfer the knowledge that is gained each year.

As an organization, CURLSASK has implemented several cost cutting measures, least of which our movement towards using low cost technology to converse and communicate. Yet, we still struggle to meet the demands of increasing costs for product and services. The increase to per member fees is a necessary one. The CURLSASK Staff and Board of Directors have been prudent in their spending but it is time to increase our services to all members and increase participation in curling through promotion of our sport.

The Executive Committee would like to thank the dedicated CURLSASK Staff, our Board of Directors and the many volunteers that contribute to the success of CURLSASK and the growth of curling in the province of Saskatchewan.

Respectfully submitted, Patricia Yeske, President and Executive Committee Chair

This past year the Governance and Policy Committee consisted of: Gord Bell (chair), Christy Walker, Murray Stroeder, and Shirley Stefanson.

The Governance and Policy Committee is tasked to review and oversee all the CURLSASK Policies and accordingly, gives direction to the CURLSASK Committees throughout the year.

Throughout the year, the Committee reviews the Committee’s objectives and timelines for completion of the CURLSASK Board of Directors Operational Plan and develops strategies and plans to ensure that tasks are completed each year.

This year the Governance and Policy Committee determined that remote voting technology was too expensive of a venture to pursue at this time for usage at the CURLSASK AGM, however will keep informed of new options going forward.

I thank the committee for all their time and efforts this past year.

This committee oversees all CURLSASK Competitions and the areas listed below within competitions that ensure everything runs smoothly in the Competition season. A special thank you to the host clubs, committees and volunteers that make each competition a success. Your willingness to host and dedicate your time ensures that participants have the opportunity to play and your local curling clubs can showcase what they have to offer.

Policies: The Competition Committee is tasked with reviewing all policies on an annual basis. Over the past season the Committee has worked on updating the following policies; Competitions Policy, Competition Attendance Policy, Athlete Development, Coach Development Policy, Officials Development, Host Grant Policy, Competition Finance Policy, Residency Policy/ Free Agent Policy.

Player and Host Surveys: Each year the Competition Committee is tasked with surveying all players and coaches. This feedback is collected and discussed at committee meetings. Player and coach recommendations help the committee to determine appropriate action with respect to events, formats, rules, policies and complaints. These surveys help the organization improve year over year.

Officiating & Rules: The Head Officials Seminar was held October 15th in Regina and was well attended by Officials, Region Coordinators, Competition Liaisons and CURLSASK Board Members. This year, much of the discussion involved the new WCF Brushing regulations. A strong discussion at the Head Officials Seminar led to an event protocol, monitoring method and the required supporting documentation was provided from the office.

Sixteen (16) Head/Alternate Head Officials were assigned to CURLSASK events this year. Thank you to all our Provincial and local volunteer officials in the province. Your commitment and effort is so greatly appreciated. CURLSASK could not run these events without you.

The Competition Committee also overviews all the rules, procedures and processes for the competitions. These are outlined in each Competitor Guide, which the committee is responsible for producing. Mike McClelland, served as Chief Official, to assist in rule enforcement or deal with any issues that arise not covered by the rules, policies or procedures. In addition the committee is responsible for player complaints and disputes.

Site Selection: The upcoming sites and dates for next year are provided on Page 36. With some vacancies on the schedule for 17/18 we continue to encourage clubs to be proactive and to let CURLSASK know their interest. Our organization will do our best to accommodate all requests.

Competition Liaisons: The Competition Committee is charged with ensuring a Liaison is assigned to CURLSASK events across the province. A pool of CURLSASK Board Members, Region Coordinators, Past Presidents and other enthusiastic volunteers who know the CURLSASK competitions were drawn from and assigned as Liaisons to various events. Thank you to all those who volunteered their time.

Competition Formats and Playdown Structure: The committee continues to gather Competition Feedback through a number of avenues: 1) the Competition Liaisons, 2) electronic surveys that have been sent to all participants for each specific competition, 3) the Saskatchewan Curlers Players Association and 4) the Sask Women’s Curling Tour Committee to make decisions on potential ways to improve competitions. The committee continues to work towards a win-win situation for all. As per the Competition Policy, the Committee will provide the Board of Directors their report for the upcoming season formats prior to June 30th for approval.

This season brought a change to the Viterra Scotties Playdowns and Provincial Championship. The committee reviewed player surveys and found an overwhelming majority of women’s teams were ready to make a change. The committee reviewed a number of alternative draws before arriving at a 9-team round robin with a traditional page playoff. According to this year’s surveys, 96.4% of players are in favour of the 9-team round robin format.

We look forward to next season where we continue to make strides towards memorable events at all levels.

The volunteers under the leadership of Gerald MacGillivray, the curling club staff and ice maker put on a great event for the teams. The Rylan Kleiter rink banked on previous experience at the junior level, having lost the past two provincial finals, and it worked out well for the team as they went undefeated en-route to winning the title. Once playoff time rolled around, it was the Brayden Stewart team rattling off two straight wins against Carson Ackerman (9-5), and Travis Tokarz (7-4) to set up the all Saskatoon Sutherland final against Kleiter. Kleiter won the final 6-2 after scoring a big three in the 5th end to ultimately decide it. Junior Women Provincial – Melfort Curling Club -12 Team (2 pools) The Melfort Curling Club had double duty this year hosting both the Junior Men and Junior Women Provincial Championships.

Once playoff time rolled around it was the Jessica Mitchell rink out of Saskatoon who finished first in Pool B faced off against Stasia Wisniewski who finished first in Pool A, in the Page 1vs1 game. Great start to the game with each team scoring nothing but single point ends heading into the break with Mitchell holding on to a 3-2 score. But a big score of three in the 7th end, as well as back to back steals in the 8th & 9th lead Mitchell to an 8-4 win and a bye into the provincial final. The Kaitlyn Jones rink out of the Regina Callie came all the way through the 3vs4 game (5-4 win over Kaitlin Corbin), and 25

a semi final win (9-8 over Wisniewski) to earn her a spot in the final. This final was nothing but entertaining and nerve racking as it was a back and forth contest right into the 6th end with Mitchell leading this one 6-4. Jones responded rather quickly with a score of four in the 9th end leading her to the provincial title over Mitchell 8-7.

Team Saskatchewan at the national championship (first appearance at a junior national) did very well finishing in a tie for 5th place with former Canadian Junior Champion Corryn Brown of British Columbia. Congratulations on a great season to all junior teams!

After round robin play, it was the Robyn Silvernagle rink out of North Battleford with the top spot in the 1vs2 Page Playoff game against Stefanie Lawton out of Saskatoon. Silvernagle came out of that game with a victory after scoring her deuce in an extra end thriller, which earned herself a bye into the championship final. Lawton then dropped to face Barker in the semi final. This was after Barker rattled off three straight sudden death wins through her final round robin game, tiebreaker, and the 3vs4 game against Nancy Martin which came down to the final shot in the 10th end.

The semi final game between Lawton and Barker was again a 10th end finale that had everyone at the edge of their seats who saw Barker come out with the win by Lawton coming up a little heavy on her draw. Barker then moved on to face Silvernagle in the final where Barker was faced to make a difficult final shot takeout to score four points and the right to represent Saskatchewan at the 2017 Scotties of Hearts in St. Catharines, Ontario. At the Canadian Championship, Team Saskatchewan finished with an overall record throughout the week of 1-10.

Casey then dropped down into the B and ended up winning the B Event final against Kody Hartung with an 11-3 victory. The two C Event finals featured a 10-7 win for Bruce Korte over Jason Jacobson, and the Kody Hartung rink pulling out the victory against Jason Ackerman 7-5.

Once playoff time came around, the 1vs2 page playoff saw another tight battle between Laycock and Casey, with Casey scoring a big end of three in the 8th leading them to an 8-5 victory and a bye into the championship final! The 3vs4 page game was a back and forth battle between Korte and Hartung, with Kore scoring the only deuce of the game in the 8th end which lead to the 5-3 victory. Mixed Doubles

The Saskatoon CN Curling Club hosted the 2017 Mixed Doubles Provincial Championship in February. The open entry provincial had a CURLSASK record setting 23 teams competing for the right to be Saskatchewan Champions and to represent out province at the 2017 Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship which was held at the Saskatoon Nutana Curling Club. The team of Sam Wills and Mackenzie Schwartz put together an impressive five straight victories to win the provincial title and claim their green jackets! The draw consisted of four pools of 6 teams (1 pool of 5 teams) with the top two teams in each pool to meet in the playoffs. The final witnessed two teams who are fairly new to the mixed doubles scene,

28

but sure did not show it in their performance as both the Sam Wills/Mackenzie Schwartz and Travis/Fenwick rinks both finishing the pool play with 4-1 records, followed up with quarter and semi final wins to meet in the provincial final. It was a close affair heading into the fourth end break with the Wills/Schwartz rink clinging on to a 4-2 lead. But after the break it was back to back single point steals for Wills/Schwartz that ultimately decided this one, leading to a 6-3 championship win. Team Saskatchewan enjoyed their time at the national competition in Saskatoon, where they gained a lot of experience at this level, finishing with a 2-5 record at the event. The support from the Lumsden community, both before and at the event was simply amazing!

Great game again by both teams, with Carey/Hodsgon needing a single in the final end to take it 6-4. The duo of / are your 2017 Mixed Doubles Canadian Champions!

Congratulations to the Darrell McKee rink out of the Saskatoon Nutana Curling Club who took home the provincial final Sunday afternoon at the Swift Current Curling Club. The final was an all Saskatoon showdown with McKee taking on Brian Humble of the Sutherland Curling Club. This one turned out to be a low scoring affair, as there were only single points traded off by both teams throughout this game. It was all tied up at 2-2 heading into the 8th and final end, with McKee having the last rock advantage and picking up his single point to earn the right to represent Saskatchewan at the 2017 Everest Canadian Senior Championship in , Mar.20-25, 2017. The Senior Women's provincial final game took place Sunday afternoon at the Swift Current Curling Club, where we saw the defending champion in Team Sherry Anderson of the Saskatoon Nutana Curling Club take on Team Lorraine Arguin out of the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre. There was no shortage in scoring from both teams, as it was Arguin holding on to a 4-3 lead after five ends of play. But Anderson responded nicely as she picked up her deuce with hammer, followed up by a big steal of three to take the eventual win by a score of 8-4. Team Anderson then went on to represent Saskatchewan at the 2017 Everest Canadian Senior Curling Championship in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

At the Canadian Championship, Team Saskatchewan went on a magical run grabbing the fourth and final playoff spot. They would go on to win the championship final 7-3 over Ontario’s Jo-Ann Rizzo. Team Anderson will now represent Canada at the 2018 World Senior Women’s Curling Championship, with the location to be determined.

Masters Men

The Shellbrook Curling Club played host to the top twelve masters men's teams at this year’s provincial championship. It was a two pool of six pool play with a set for this year’s event, with the winner to represent Saskatchewan at the 2017 Canadian Masters Men's Championship Apr. 3-9 in Guelph, Ontario! After pool play was completed, we saw another tiebreaker frenzy on our hands, with five teams battling it out for that fourth and final playoff spot. After it was all said and done, the Peter Thiele rink (Regina) defeated Wayne Schieble (North Battleford) 8-6 to book a ticket into that 2vs2 playoff game.

Meanwhile in the 1vs1 playoff game, it was a battle between two former provincial champions and teammates with taking on Jim Wilson. They won the national championship together back in 2014, and were bronze medalists at last years’ national competition. But in this one, it was Wilson with a huge score of four in the 5th end followed up with a steal of one to take the 8-2 final score after six ends of play. Hritzuk then dropped down to play Thiele (winner over Fiest in 2vs2 playoff game), where it was Hritzuk coming away with a 6-4 victory setting up a rematch with Wilson for the provincial title. This final was a great contest which saw Wilson jump out to a early 4-1 lead after three ends of play. But Hritzuk fought back to bring this to a one point game heading into the 8th and final end, where it was Wilson taking that last stone advantage to his benefit scoring a single point to win this one 6-4. Great weekend by all teams and thank you to Shellbrook for hosting a successful event! Team Wilson went on to the 2017 Canadian Masters Men’s Championship, bringing home the second straight bronze medal for Team Saskatchewan at this event!

31

Masters Women

The Birch Hills Curling Club played host to this years Masters Women's Provincial Championship with the top ten women's teams attending this year’s event. The two pools of five got things rolling before heading into championship weekend, and it proved that the field was an even and competitive battle between all teams. At the end of pool play, two tiebreaker games were determined to decide that fourth and final spot into the four-team page playoff system. It was teams Kay Montgomery (North Battleford) who defeated Ada Lacoursiere (Saskatoon) & Pat Bibby to find herself a spot in that 2vs2 playoff game.

Meanwhile, in the 1vs1 playoff game it was all tied up heading into the 8th and final end with Delores Syrota (Wadena) having hammer over Wendy Leach (Regina) and taking advantage scoring her single and earning that bye straight into the final! Leach then dropped down and played the winner of that 2vs2 game, where we saw a back and forth battle with teams trading two & three point ends all game long. But it was Merie Kopach (Saskatoon) who used that last rock advantage in the last end to score her deuce and take the tight game with a score of 8-7. It was a nerve racking playoff round leading into the semi final, where it was Leach scoring three straight single point ends to take the 5-4 victory over Kopach, setting up a rematch of the 1vs1 game against Syrota.

With Leach defeating Kopach, who was the five-time defending champion, we would now know a new provincial winner would be on our hands! In the final, again it was a back and forth battle with Syrota hanging on to a 3-2 lead heading into the break. But it was a big steal of two in the 7th end by Syrota that sealed the deal in this one declaring them provincial champions. Syrota has now won a provincial championship at the junior, women's, senior's, and masters levels! It was a great weekend had by all, and thank you to the Birch Hills Curling Club for hosting such a wonderful event! Team Syrota went on to the 2017 Canadian Masters Curling Championships, bringing home gold and a second straight gold medal for Team Saskatchewan at this event!

Travelers Curling Club Championships - Men

The 2017 Men’s Traveler’s Provincial Club Curling Championship was held at the Estevan Power Dodge Curling Centre for this year’s event, which was a joint provincial with the community also hosting the women’s provincial on the same weekend.

Twelve club champions qualified for the Provincial Championship through Region playdowns and the Host Curling Club Champion receiving a spot. The provincial event featured two pools of 6 team’s, in a round robin format with the top 2 teams in each pool advancing to the semi-final championship.

The men began a round robin play (2 pools of 6 teams) Friday afternoon, with the top two teams from each pool moving on to the playoff round Sunday morning. In one pool, we saw a tight battle between three teams who ended up tied for top spot at 4-1 records. Teams Brent Gedak, Sheldon Obst, and Shane Vollman all split wins amongst each other, setting up a tiebreaker game between the Gedak and Vollman rinks. This one was a great matchup with teams trading deuces and singles all game long leading to a 5-5 tie heading into the extra end. Where it was Gedak with the last stone advantage and used that to score his single and book his squad a spot into the 32

semi finals against Christopher Mass. In the other men's pool, the Mass rink (5-0) and the Brad Kennedy rink (4-1) finished a top of their pool and found themselves a semi final spot heading into Sunday mornings action! Once playoffs rolled around, it was the Gedak rink (defeated Mass in the semi final 8-5) and the Obst rink (defeated Kennedy 4-2 in the semi final), who met up Sunday afternoon for the provincial title. A relatively low scoring game as the first four ends resulted in blank ends, followed up by teams trading singles heading into the 8th end. But it was Gedak with that last stone advantage and using it to score his two points and claim a 3-2 victory securing that provincial title! Congratulations to Team Gedak! The 2017 Canadian Travelers Curling Club Championship will be held Nov. 20-26 in Kingston, Ontario.

Travelers Curling Club Championships - Women

The Women’s Traveler’s Provincial Club Curling Championships was hosted by the Estevan Curling Club, with the same two pools round robin format as the men’s provincial.

Meanwhile on the women's side of things, the teams made it a little more difficult on themselves to find a spot into the playoffs on Sunday. After pool play concluded, it was a tiebreaker like no other to confirm the final two teams into the semi finals. In the first tiebreaker game, we saw a convincing win for the Rebecca Ryde rink (Saskatoon) 7-1 over the Lindsay Huish rink (Gainsborough), moving her onto the second tiebreaker game against Kristi Frolek (North Battleford), where it was Frolek taking this one by a score of 6-3 booking her a ticket into the semi final game. In the third tiebreaker game, it was the Heather Burnett rink (Martensville) losing a close match to Elaine Osmachenko (Moose Jaw) 6-5 in the final end, allowing Osmachenko a spot in the other semi final.

After the mess of tiebreakers, the semi finals were set with Osmachenko scoring four points in the final two ends to defeat Lisa Wyatt (Lumsden) to earn her a spot into the provincial final. In the other semi, it was Frolek taking on the hometown squad in Alexandra Williamson, where it was Frolek scoring two three end scores to secure her an 8-3 win. The provincial final began a little later than expected with the few extra games, but it got off to an exciting start with the score all locked up at 3-3 after the 5th end. Frolek responded nicely with a deuce in the 7th end followed up by a steal in the final end of play to crown them as provincial champions! Congratulations to Team Kristi Frolek! The 2017 Canadian Travelers Curling Club Championship will be held Nov. 20-26 in Kingston, Ontario.

U18 All three U18 Competitions (Open, Women’s & Men’s) were all hosted by the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre Mar.23-26, and what an event it was! Let us take a look at how the weekend turned out:

Open Division The 2017 U18 Open Provincial Championship consisted of a two pool play round robin with the top two teams of each pool taking part in a page playoff system to decide the champion. In Pool A, we saw the Cody Sutherland rink out of Rosetwon (3-0) as well as the Rachel Kramer rink of Estevan (2-1) move on to the playoff round. While in Pool B, it was the Hailey Silversides rink of Balgonie (3-0) and the Sean Thompson rink (2-1) also reach the playoff round.

Once championship Sunday hit, Sutherland battled with Silversides in that 1vs1 playoff game, taking a convincing victory 8-1 after a score of two in the 3rd end followed by a steal of three in the 4th end. This win found themselves a bye straight into the championship final. Meanwhile in the 2vs2 game, the Thompson foursome faced off with Kramer hopping out to a 5-0 lead after three ends and not looking back as they take the eventual final score of 7-2. To the semi final game 33

we went and what a matchup it was. With Thompson scoring a big score of five in the 3rd end to go up 5-2, Silversides started their comeback scoring four straight points in three ends, moving on to the final by a score of 8- 6. A rematch of the 1vs1 game would decide this years provincial champion, both teams providing solid shot making at a 2-2 tie heading into the break. But the factor in this one was a score of four in the 7th end by Sutherland, earning them the 2017 Provincial Open Championship 8-3.

U18 Women’s Division The 2017 U18 Women’s Provincial Championship consisted of the top eight teams from around the province competing for this year’s championship. The triple knockout format saw three different teams meeting in the page playoff system. The A Event final saw the Ashley Thevenot club out of Naicam take on team Karla Friesen of Wadena. Thevenot hopped out to an early lead in this one, scoring back to back steals in the 2nd and 3rd ends taking a 5-2 lead into the break. Friesen responded nicely with a huge score of five in the 6th end knotting this up at 7-7. But Thevenot got the upper hand with her score of four in the 7th end taking this game 11-7. The B Event Final witnessed two different teams in the Rachel Erickson rink out of Maryfield, and the Jessica Thompson squad out of Saskatoon. Erickson opened up the game with a score of three in the 1st end, and never looking back following it up with three straight steals to take make the final a 6-0 score.

In the C Event Final, Thevenot was back in action giving her a chance to earn a direct bye into the provincial final with a win. But it was the hometown rink of Skylar Ackerman playing a well-rounded game and taking this event final by a score of 7-5. Since there were three separate event winners, Thevenot (A Winner) received the direct berth into the final. While the Erickson (B Winner) and Ackerman (C Winner) will play off in the semi final game to see who will play against Thevenot.

It shaped up to be a wonderful championship Sunday with all three teams giving the fans their money’s worth! In the semi final game, it was low scoring affair with Erickson holding on to a 2-1 lead heading into the break. The team came out firing nicely with a big score of three in the 5th end to take a 5-1 lead. But Ackerman came right back with a nice deuce and a steal of one making it a great ending coming home. But Erickson using hammer to her advantage took the provincial title by a score of 5-4. Rachel Erickson and her team of Sarah Hoag, Rachel Ryan and Kelly Kay will now represent Saskatchewan at the very first Canadian Under-18 Boys and Girls Curling Championships, which are being held April 17-22 in , New Brunswick.

U18 Men’s Division A highly competitive and very strong field was out at this years 2017 U18 Men’s Provincial Championship with the top eight teams from around the province meeting in Moose Jaw.

What a year it has been so far for the Rylan Kleiter rink out of the Saskatoon Sutherland Curling Club. Back in January, the team won the 2017 Provincial Junior Men’s Championship representing Saskatchewan at the 2017 Canadian Junior Championships in Victoria, British Columbia. This will be the third U18 Provincial Championship for Team Kleiter in the past three years! The Kleiter rink of Rylan Kleiter, Trevor Johnson, Joshua Mattern, Matthieu Taillon & Coach Dean Kleiter won all three events (A,B,C) that lead to the provincial title. In the A Event final, they faced off against the Garrett Reddekopp rink of the Spiritwood Curling Club. A great game had by both teams heading into the 5th end, as it was all tied up at 2-2. Kleiter then scored a big score of three in the 6th followed up by a steal of two to take this one by a final score of 7- 2. In the B Event final game, it was a rematch between Kleiter and Reddekopp, where a couple bad breaks lead Kleiter to an early 9-0 lead after three ends of play with them taking the final score over Reddekopp of 9-1 after 4 ends.

Meanwhile in the C Event, Reddekopp won a close game against the hometown rink in Brendan Moss by a score of 4-1. In the other C semi final, it was Kleiter up against the Dustin Mikush rink who plays out of the Humboldt

34

Curling Club. This was a very close game that lead to an extra end finish where it was Kleiter scoring the single point he needed to take the score by a final of 5-4. In the C Event final game, it was another great game had by both teams, as it was a 3-1 contest in favour of Kleiter heading into the 4th end break. Kleiter responded with a score of three and a steal of one to take the 7-1 final capturing another provincial championship. Congratulations to all teams who put on a great show for the fans in Moose Jaw all weekend long. Kleiter will now represent Saskatchewan at the 2017 Canadian U-18 Boys Curling Championships April 17-22 in Moncton, New Brunswick!

Mixed

The Tim Hortons Mixed Provincial was held at the Meadow Lake Curling Club featuring sixteen teams competing for the right to be Mixed Champions. We want to thank the host committee in the surrounding town and area for such a successful event for players and fans.

The triple knockout format saw the Colton Flasch rink out of the Prince Albert Golf & Curling Club win the A Event and that first spot into the page playoffs on championship Sunday. They defeated the team of Dave Wetsch out of Weyburn 7-2. In the B Event final, it was the two former champions in the rinks of Jason Ackerman and Brady Scharbacks rink who were the defending champions. Ackerman jumped out to an early 4-0 lead heading into the break, and scoring his deuce in the final end to take this one 7-3. Ackerman secured his spot in the 1vs2 page playoff game against Flasch. The last two remaining spots into the playoffs came through the two C Event finals. Final number one began with the young team out of juniors in Saskatoon’s Brayden Stewart taking a 7-1 against Kyle Cherpin of Regina. They would then face off against the Shawn Joyce rink who defeated Scharback 5-1.

Championship Sunday rolled around with Ackerman narrowing Flasch 5-4 to earn a direct bye into the final, lining up Flasch to play Shawn Joyce, who defeated Stewart 5-3 in the second page playoff game. The semi final saw this one all tied up at 3-3 after five ends of play, where it was Flasch who responded with a big score of three in the 6th end which made the difference in this one, allowing Flasch to have a rematch with Ackerman in the provincial final.

The final game was a roller coaster to say the least. Ackerman first jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first end, holding on to a 5-2 lead heading into the break. After six ends of play, Flasch broke out with a score of four to take an 8-6 lead heading into the last end. But Ackerman responded nicely with a deuce of his own to take this one to an extra. And it was Flasch with the last stone advantage scoring his single point and taking home the title. Team Flasch and his rink of Brett Barber, Jayden Shwaga, and Robyn Despins will now represent Saskatchewan at the 2017 Canadian Mixed Championships in November, hosted by the Swan River, Manitoba curling club.

Wheelchair The following Team Saskatchewan Wheelchair team was selected by the team’s head coach:

PARTICIPATION DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE – 2016-2017

Participation Committee Year End Report

April 29, 2017

The purpose of the Participation Committee is to bring curling to more people in Saskatchewan, whether it is to introduce or re-introduce them to the sport. This committee supports the CURLSASK Vision: “That Saskatchewan Residents have the Opportunity to Participate in the Province’s Official Sport of Curling”.

For the 2016-2017 season the Participation Committee consisted of Board Members Jim Wilson, Micheal Dudar, Christy Walker and Staff Member Anne Marie Dezotell, and Mat Ring.

In 2016, the Committee’s first major initiative was to create and launch a Government of Saskatchewan proclaimed “Curling Day in Saskatchewan”. This day, also known as House Calls, is meant to be a celebration for all that is great about curling and to promote the sport to those that may not be involved. New this year for Curling Day was the introduction of commemorative special edition Toques to promote the day, we also relooked at the Curling Day Celebration Grant. The Grant invited Clubs to submit their curling day plans, we where once again overwhelmed with the response from Saskatchewan clubs.

For the 2016-2017 season the Participation Committee continued work for the Tim Horton’s Youth Curling circuit. The Tim Hortons Curling goal is to continue increasing participation, the U18 Tim’s bonspiels was instituted for the 2016-2017 season. This past season we had a total of 94 Under 15 & 65 U18 teams compete in bonspiels all across the province.

In collaboration with the Media Arts program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Prince Albert, a 60 second CURLSASK promotional video was produced by the program students as a work project. CURLSASK will be gauging the use expanded use of video messaging and social media to attract a younger demographic to provincial clubs in the next year.

The Participation Committee is looking to an initiative of Specialized License Plates and work towards gauging interest in this project is now underway. A minimum of 500 plates must be committed to make this project viable.

Under Member Services, the Participation and Development Committee is now offering clubs who may be looking at capital upgrades, volunteer project management advice. Details are available on the CURLSASK website.

The Participation Committee has found its stride in the past couple of seasons and continues to look for new ways to reach into communities, clubs and schools to keep promoting our sport.

Respectfully submitted,

Jim Wilson

VOLUNTEER SCREENING COMMITTEE – 2016-2017

As CURLSASK has a moral, ethical, and legal responsibility to ensure that volunteers who provide a service in certain areas, are individuals who are suitable to work in those areas of service. It is imperative therefore that CURLSASK implement a Volunteer Screening Process to provide certain standards, criteria and enforcement measures in the selection and ongoing supervision of certain volunteers. To oversee the CURLSASK Volunteer Screening Policy, an ad hoc committee chaired by Gord Bell, was struck during August of 2015. The committee become a permanent CURLSASK standing committee at the CURLSASK 2016 AGM in Regina.

This past year the Volunteer Screening Committee consisted of: Gord Bell – CURLSASK BOD (chair), Bob Waller – Regina Lawyer, Gerry Schneider – RCMP officer (now retired), Bill Weppler – long-time Regina curler, and Ashley Howard – CURLSASK Executive Director. The committee meets annually and on an as needed basis. This year’s annual meeting was held September 6 with all members present.

This year Ashley Howard only received seven criminal record checks from new coaches and new CURLSASK Board of Directors. No issues arose from the process, and as a result, the Volunteer Screening Committee was not called to meet again.

As the volunteer screening process was implemented during the 2015-2016 curling season, and since the criminal record checks are valid for three years, it is anticipated that the screening will substantially increase for the 2018- 2019 curling season. The screenings for 2017-2018 are anticipated to be similar to this year.

Respectfully submitted by, Gord Bell Chairperson, Volunteer Screening Committee

CURLSASK AWARDS & SCA LEGENDS OF CURLING HONOUR ROLL REPORT - 2016-2017

Recognition for excellence and dedication, whether it be the accomplished athletes or a valued curling club volunteer is vital to maintaining a positive awareness of our sport. CURLSASK and the Legends of Curling Committee work together to promote the CURLSASK Awards Program and organize the Annual Awards Evening at which we have the opportunity to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of curling supporters and athletes. The following is a recap of the past year.

CURLSASK and the Legends of Curling Committee continue to encourage curling clubs to nominate their valuable volunteers and stars of the game for the recognition they deserve and are pleased to announce this year’s deserving award recipients. Note: This past year we received no nominations for the Junior Coordinator/Instructor/Coach Award. CURLSASK Scotty Richardson Memorial Award Recognizes those members of the curling community who have made outstanding contributions to the sport of curling for an extended period of time. • Frank Elberg - Estevan

The Estevan Curling Club continues to thrive today largely in part to Frank Elberg’s organization skills. At a time when the Club was facing a financial crisis and infrastructure deficiencies, as Club President, Frank’s leadership and long term planning helped put things on track. Frank loved to curl and he cared enough to ensure that curling in the community remained viable by volunteering countless hours of his time to the club. Coaching, instructing and chairing competition committees locally as well as at the Provincial level, and serving on the SCA Board as Region Director all helped to ensure that the sport not only thrived in his community but in the entire South East Region.

Legends of Curling Honour Roll Inductees • Builder Category Wayne Garinger – Melfort

Wayne has been involved with the Melfort Curling Club for over 50 years as an active member, ice maker, Club Manager and volunteer on many club committees. Wayne served on the Saskatchewan Curling Association (SCA) Board as Region Director for over 12 years and also curled competitively. His overall passion for sports also included Baseball and as a competitor and official but curling seemed to be his sport of choice.

Doug Lyon - Melfort

Doug Lyon started curling in 1947 and his love of the game lead him to volunteer his time tirelessly over the years to ensure the success of the Melfort Curling Club. His competitive curling, involvement on many committees and coaching teams was rewarding but the highlight, first and foremost, was the many friends he made.

39

Gordon Widger - Prince Albert

Gordon’s curling career started on a slough near the family farm using blocks of firewood with bent spike handles. Years later, and joining the Prince Albert Curling Club in the late sixties, lead to a pretty successful competitive curling career over 40 years as well as extensive involvement on the Club volunteer side. Gord also sat on the Saskatchewan Curling Association (SCA) Board as Region Director for over 10 years and was President in 2002-03. In fact Gord served on the SCA committee struck specifically for the purpose of finding a way to honour Saskatchewan’s curling builders and unrecognized heroes that resulted in the Legends of Curling Honour Roll, now in its 14th year.

• Curler Category Pat Buglass – Saskatoon

While a National Championship evaded Pat and her teams, she was a regular on the Provincial scene winning two. One in Senior Women’s and one in Master Women’s competition. In 2005 Pat’s Team was runner-up at the National Masters. In addition to her auspicious competitive curling Pat was a curling volunteer in many capacities over the years. She served on the Granite Curling Club Board, was the Saskatoon Region Coordinator for the Saskatchewan Ladies Curling Association (SLCA) and officiated at many competitions.

Sue Altman – Foam Lake

Sue began curling during her school years and one of her first achievements in the sport was winning a 1973 High School Provincial Championship. She went on to be a regular on the women’s curling scene with many appearances at the Womens Northerns and Provincial competitions with various teams. In 1981 curling with Gloria Leach, Delores Syrota and Joan Sweatman Team Altman won the Saskatchewan Ladies Curling Association Provincial Championship. Sue, a genuine character, loved to compete, always had fun and she valued the sportsmanship of the game. Everyone enjoyed Sue as well. For a number of years Sue would bring her “door prize” to competitions, a real door, and have all the Teams sign it. A history of Saskatchewan Women’s curling is on that door!

2017 AGM MEMBER PROPOSALS

PROPOSAL #1

Submitted by CURLSASK BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Be it Resolved that CURLSASK Board of Directors are requesting that the 2017-2018 Member Fees be as follows:

Affiliate Club Member Fee be $15 per Player Member as listed on the Member Registry submitted by the Curling Club.

Associate Members Fee remains as $300 per organization. The $15 per member fee only charged to those individual members in the Associate Member who are not currently player members of an Affiliated Curling Club.

Background Information:

CURLSASK exists to serve its members and member clubs to grow and develop the sport of curling throughout Saskatchewan. CURLSASK is actively growing and is looking to the future to create new service and programs for the curling community of Saskatchewan.

CURLSASK receives the majority of its revenue through Saskatchewan Lotteries and corporate sponsorship. The Saskatchewan Lotteries funding is based on the number of member curlers in the province. These Saskatchewan Lotteries funds are the monies that are passed back directly to the clubs to assist with club operations and projects.

CURLSASK is proposing to have each member curler pay an additional $5 per season CURLSASK membership fee. This is the first fee increase since the implementation of individual membership fees during the 2014-2015 curling season.

Proposal #2

Submitted by CURLSASK BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Be it Resolved that CURLSASK Board of Directors are requesting the following revision to Section 9: Fiscal Period, Audit and Signing Officers in the Association’s Bylaws:

9.3 The signing officers of the Association are any two of the Executive Director and any member on the Board of Directors.

Background information or rationale:

Currently only any two of the President, Vice-President, Finance Officer and Executvie Director are signing officers. The limited number of signing officers, who may be dispersed throughout Saskatchewan, at times causes delays to CURLSASK activities. Expansion to the entire CURLSASK Board of Directors will minimize this issue and will also results in cost savings.

The above Proposal(s) were received by CURLSASK by the January 27, 2017 deadline for Member Proposals. Any Member Proposal forwarded after January 27 or brought from the floor at the AGM, will require a 75% majority vote by the delegates present at the AGM to be considered.
