Lithuania will look to get some points on the board in UEFA EURO 2016 Group E as they take on a San Marino side who have not scored a competitive away goal in over 14 years. • The following players are a yellow card away from a ban: Deividas Česnauskis, Karolis Chvedukas, Deivydas Matulevičius, Marius Žaliukas (Lithuania), Manuel Battistini, Alex Gasperoni, Mirko Palazzi, Andy Selva and Davide Simoncini (San Marino). Previous meetings • Strikes from Deivydas Matulevičius and secured a 2-0 win for Lithuania in the sides' first Group E meeting. • Lithuania have won all three games against San Marino without conceding. • The teams were paired in 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying. Algimantas Liubinskas's Lithuania beat Giampaolo Mazza's San Marino 4-0 in the sides' initial encounter in Kaunas on 9 September 2004. (18 50), Tomas Danilevičus (65) and Andrius Gedgaudas (90+2) were all on target. • The return leg in Serravalle on 17 November the same year was much tighter, Deividas Česnauskis (42) getting the only goal as Lithuania prevailed 1-0. Form guide • Lithuania have lost three of their last four home qualifiers. Moreover they suffered defeat on their travels on Saturday, 1-0 in Estonia, while San Marino were being hit for six by England in Serravalle. • San Marino have lost their last 34 competitive away games without scoring, their last away goal coming in a 1-1 draw against Latvia in April 2001. Their competitive away record in all competitions reads D1 L58, with just four goals scored. Trivia and links • In seven UEFA age-group meetings with Lithuania, San Marino's record is W0 D1 L6. However, four of those victories were by one-goal margins; most recently, Lithuania won 2-1 at home and 1-0 in Serravalle in qualifying for the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

5 Lithuania - San Marino Tuesday 8 September 2015 - 20.45CET (21.45 local time) Match press kit LFF Stadionas, Vilnius Head coach Igoris Pankratjevas Date of birth: 9 August 1964 Nationality: Lithuanian Playing career: FK Kelininkas Kaunas, FK Atlantas, VMFD Žalgiris, SC Westfalia Herne, KSV Hessen Kassel, FC Dinamo Moskva, FC Dynamo Kyiv, FK Lietuvos Makabi, FC Nyva Borysfen, FC Šiauliai, FC Zorya Luhansk (twice), FC Podillya Khmelnytskyi, FC Nyva Ternopil Coaching career: FK Inkaras Kaunas, FK Atlantas, FBK Kaunas, VMFD Žalgiris (twice), Lithuania Under-21s, FK Sūduva, FK Standard Sumqayıt • A towering midfielder, Pankratjevas started his playing days at home-town team Kelininkas, before a short spell at Atlantas followed by a move to Žalgiris. • Spent six seasons with Žalgiris and played in the 1988/89 UEFA Cup – the first time a Lithuanian club had been involved in UEFA competition. • After brief stints in Germany and Russia, Pankratjevas eventually settled in Ukraine. First signed for Dynamo Kyiv before playing periods with four other sides, ending his career at Zorya. Earned four international caps. • Began his coaching life with Inkaras, before returning to former teams Atlantas, Kaunas, Žalgiris and Sūduva. Won the Lithuanian Cup with Atlantas and Kaunas, and was named club coach of the year in 2010 during his second Žalgiris tenure. • Took over the Lithuania U21s in 2007 and five years later was appointed assistant to senior coach Csaba László. Named caretaker boss in September 2013 and received a permanent deal three months later. Pierangelo Manzaroli Date of birth: 25 March 1969 Nationality: Sammarinese Playing career: SS Cosmos, SP Cailungo, , SS Pennarossa Coaching career: SS Pennarossa, AC Libertas, San Marino Under-15, San Marino Under-21, San Marino • After starting his career in the local league, the midfielder had a successful two-year spell with San Marino Calcio in the Italian fourth division before returning to the Sammarinese league to play for Pennarossa, where he started to work as a coach in 2006/07, leading the team to the league title in his first season on charge. • Capped 38 times for San Marino between 1991 and 2001, Manzaroli left Pennarossa at the end of the 2006/07 season to join AC Libertas and led his new team to a historic 1-1 draw against Irish club Drogheda United FC in a 2007/08 UEFA Cup game. • Manzaroli than earned another notable coup when he led a San Marino side through the preliminary round of the 2008/09 UEFA Regions' Cup before being appointed as coach of the Under-21 national team in 2010. • He led the U21s to some hugely surprising results in qualifying for the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship – a stalemate against Greece in June 2012 and a 1-0 victory against Wales in September 2013 – before being appointed to replace long-standing San Marino senior coach Giampaolo Mazza in 2014.

EURO finals: The UEFA European Championship was a four-team event in 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972 and 1976 (when the preliminary round and quarter-finals were considered part of qualifying).

From 1980 it was expanded to an eight-team finals and remained in that format in 1984, 1988 and 1992 until 1996, when the 16-team format was adopted. UEFA EURO 2016 was the first tournament to be played as a 24-team finals.

Records of inactive countries A number of UEFA associations have been affected by dissolution or splits of member associations. For statistical purposes, the records of these inactive countries have been allocated elsewhere: therefore, all Soviet Union matches are awarded to Russia; all West Germany – but not East Germany – matches are awarded to Germany; all Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro matches are awarded to Serbia; all Czechoslovakia matches are allocated to both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Abandoned/forfeited matches For statisical purposes, when a match has been started and then abandoned but later forfeited, the result on the pitch at the time of abandonment is counted. Matches that never started and were either cancelled or forfeited are not included in the overall statistics.
