CHI CHICAGO DOGS STP ST. PAUL SAINTS fargo, nd FM FARGO-MOORHEAD REDHAWKS SF SIOUX FALLS CANARIES franklin, wi MKE WPG WINNIPEG GOLDEYES sioux falls, sd Newman Outdoor Field has been the home of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks since their inaugural season in 1996. The stadium was constructed at a cost of $5.5 million by the architecture firm R.L. Engebretson P.C. & Sink Combs Dethlefs and opened on June 21, 1996.

The Fargo Stadium, affectionately known as “The Nest” when it opened in 1996, also hosts State baseball games during the spring. The 4,513-seat facility was renamed Newman Outdoor Field in 1998 when Harold Newman’s Newman Outdoor Advertising purchased the stadium’s naming rights for $1.5 million. Since opening the gates in 1996, Newman Outdoor Field has welcomed more than four million baseball fans through its doors.

In an homage to former New York Yankee great Roger Maris, who played for the Fargo-Moorhead Twins in the 1950s, the dimensions of Newman Outdoor Field’s outfield walls are a carbon copy of the original Yankee Stadium’s. The park’s dimensions — 318’ to left field, 399’ to left-center field, 408’ to center, and 314’ to right field — create an alley in left-center field that keeps long balls inside the stadium and can be an advantage for pitchers. On the other hand, the short right field fence (314’ down the right field line) makes for an appealing target for left-handed hitters. The field’s surface is natural grass.

Dressing rooms are located under the stadium behind each dugout, and there is an indoor batting cage. A two-tiered press box with radio and television booths provides ample working space high above home plate between 12 spectator suites. An LED video board measuring 26 feet wide and 13 feet high in left field that features highlights, in-game videos, and instant replays is also accompanied by a digital scoreboard.

Newman Outdoor Field has hosted numerous events over the past two decades, from concerts and the annual Fargo Blues Fest to the 2009 American Legion World Series and, of course, RedHawks and NDSU baseball. home bullpen 318’

Newman Outdoor Field will operate with attendance restrictions for the 2020 season. The stadium will operate at a maximum capacity of around 50% attendance with extensive precautions taken to abide by social distancing guidelines. We can assure you that we will adhere to any and all state and local government restrictions, and will follow the guidance provided by the CDC, North Dakota Department of Health and Fargo Cass Public Health. Ensuring the health and safety of our fans, players, coaches, staff and community neighbors is our top priority and will guide our decision making process.

All tickets will be sold as general admission, with rows of seats closed off and a four-seat (six foot) gap in place between groups to ensure fans are a safe distance apart from each other. Your ticket allows you to sit anywhere in the stadium that you feel comfortable. Gates will open an hour before first pitch so that fans will have plenty of time to find a seat and settle in before the start of the game. Please be courteous to all those around you by keeping a safe distance and following all relevant safety guidelines.
