Nick Gotta followed with a two-run triple to centre field that put the Canaries ahead. Former Major League left-hander Caleb Frare retired the Goldeyes in order in the top of the ninth to earn the save. Winnipeg had just tied the game in the top of the eighth against Canaries’ reliever Robbie Gordon. -

Winnipeg took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Dominic Ficociello and Alex Perez opened the inning with back-to-back walks. Two batters later, Kevin Garcia lined a single to right-centre that scored Ficociello. Gary SouthShore went in front 2-1 in the top of the third on a solo home run from Marcus Mooney and an RBI single from Randy Santiesteban. The Goldeyes answered backing the bottom of the third when Willy Garcia smacked a two-run home run to right field. Winnipeg scored five times in the bottom of the fourth to open an 8-2 advantage. Kevin Garcia doubled down the right field line with one out and scored on a Tyler Marincov single to centre.
