1.2 Housing rates Housing rates at Bocconi university residence halls vary depending on the type of residence, room and economic status of the student's family. Details of the rates are published and can be consulted online: www.unibocconi.eu/housing

For reduced rates, the rates of the assigned housing service are defined according to the economic status of the applicant's family assessed on the basis of data and documentation submitted by the student. For reduced rate housing, the ISU bracket assigned when initially entering the residence hall is not automatically maintained in subsequent years. Housing service rates are re-determined each year based upon the new economic-financial documentation submitted.

1.3 Who may reside in Bocconi Residence Halls Students duly registered/enrolled for the A/Y 2018-19 in a Bachelor, Integrated Master of Arts in Law, Master of Science or PhD program are eligible to stay in one of the university residence halls. In addition, students enrolled for the 2018-19 A/Y in single programs, Specialized and SDA Bocconi Master programs are also eligible to stay, but may only apply for the “residual assignments”.

In “New housing admission - first assignments” (section 3), only “non-resident” students may apply for housing. Students resident in one of the “resident” or “commuting” municipalities, identified in Attachment D, are therefore excluded from the housing assignment.

In addition to the above rules, if they have the necessary requirements, students may submit only one type of application:

- Reduced Rate - Full Rate

In “New housing admission - residual assignments” (section 4), all students, irrespective of their home address, academic merit and family economic status, may submit a housing application, provided that residual places are available.

4

1.4 General access and cohabitation rules When staying at the residence halls, students must comply with the rules indicated in these requirements and regulations and respect the provisions of the Regulations and the signed “Housing Acceptance”.

Cohabitation in university housing is governed by the Regulations, which are considered to be known by students when submitting the application (Attachment A). Behaviors contrary to the rules of the Regulations may lead to expulsion from the residence hall and a referral to the Disciplinary Committee.

Please note that:

- The security deposit is paid on a one-off basis for the right of withdrawal when leaving early (section 6) and for “damages”; - The annual Housing fee is applied to assignments covering the full academic year, from September to July, and it is split into three installments for students' convenience. - The first installment of the annual fee, to cover the period September-December, must be paid before check-in. Check-in must take place by and not beyond September 10, 2018. The payment terms of the 2nd and 3rd installment are published online. - The monthly Housing fee is, on the other hand, applied to those who: o enter after September 30 and stay for a period exceeding 10 days; o temporarily sublease or take on a sublet housing for participation in the Exchange Program; and it is calculated as follows:

Monthly rate = [(annual rate / 10) X months of stay]

- The daily fee is considered for periods of stay of less than 10 days in the same month, and it is calculated as follows:

Daily rate = [(annual rate / 100) X days of stay]

To calculate the rates applied, the final departure date must be proven by the check-out, which can only be done online.

- €20.00 will be added to the first payment made each year for the resident activity fee, along with, at each payment, any costs involved for stamping and shipping the MAV or other payment slip.

The €20.00 contribution paid with the first installment will be used as a cash fund for each residence hall for leisure activities and for any planned and unplanned maintenance of the building, furniture and equipment incumbent on the students. The fund may be used at the request of each individual residence hall's student representatives, in agreement with the ISU Bocconi Director.

SECTION 2: HOUSING RENEWAL

2.1 REDUCED RATE: RENEWAL APPLICATION The housing renewal for students currently resident will not be sent automatically; those students must complete the renewal in the set timescales and methods. Such housing will be lost if a renewal application is not submitted.

2.1.1 Requirements for submitting application Reduced rate housing for the A/Y 2018-19 will only be available for those already assigned a reduced rate room when the housing renewal application is opened. Students may only request renewal of the room occupied in the A/Y 2017-18 and room changes may not be requested. Students wishing to change room and/or residence hall must not submit a renewal application but must instead enter a new application for reduced rate admission (3.1). Room assignments will in any case be subject to the available places.

Students who, in the A/Y 2017-18, were housed at reduced rate and enrolled in the 3rd year of a Bachelor program and who have enrolled for the A/Y 2018-19 in the first year of a Bocconi Master of Science program may confirm their reduced rate housing for 2018-19. In this case, the merit requirements do not apply and the renewal will only be subject to meeting the economic requirements indicated below.

Students who, in the A/Y 2017-18, are assigned reduced rate housing after April 18, 2018 may not confirm their housing for the A/Y 2018-19, but must submit an application for new admission for the A/Y 2018 -19 and must leave the room at the end of the A/Y 2017-18 assignment.

Students occupying a room on temporary sublet are not entitled to request its renewal but, if interested, they must submit an application for one of the other possibilities indicated by these requirements and regulations.

The housing renewal for students enrolled in the A/Y 2017-18 in the 1st year of a Bachelor program or Integrated Master program positioned in the 4th bracket in the A/Y 2017-18 for exceeded earning/financial limits, will follow the rules laid down for full rate renewal applications for the A/Y 2017-18. Only students in Bachelor programs or Integrated Master programs who enroll in the second year of the program for the A/Y 2018-19 may therefore confirm their housing. These students may not in future confirm their housing for the third year of the program but must submit a housing application for new full rate admission.

Students positioned in the 4th bracket in the A/Y 2017-18 due to missing, incomplete and/or incorrect documentation, may not confirm their housing for the A/Y 2018-19 but must leave that housing at the end of the assignment scheduled for the A/Y 2017-18. If they wish, those students may submit a new application for one of the other possibilities indicated by these requirements and regulations.

Reduced rate housing will only be confirmed, in the presence of the requirements described above, if the economic and merit requirements indicated below are met.

6

Economic requirements

Students may confirm reduced rate housing provided that the following economic requirements are met.

The student's economic condition will be identified based upon the ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator), issued for benefits to the right to university study, and the ISPE (Equivalent Financial Situation Indicator). The ISEE must be issued in reference to the student's tax code and must not contain “omissions/deformities/discordances”.

The ISPE, on the other hand, will be calculated by the University based upon the data provided by INPS, dividing the ISP (Financial Situation Indicator) value by the equivalence scale.

Students (Italian or foreign) not resident in and non-autonomous foreign students with a family unit residing abroad must request a replacement indicator of the ISEE and ISPE value for the purpose of “subsidized benefits for the right to university study”, known as ISEEU/ISPEU parificato. The ISEEU/ISPEU parificato may only be issued by the CAF (Tax Assistance Center) partnered with the Bocconi University (see Attachment E).

For the academic year 2018-19, the approved limits are the following:

 ISEE/ISEEU parificato no higher than €23,000  ISPE/ISPEU parificato no higher than €50,000

The assignment of reduced rate housing and the tariffs of the housing service are applied on the basis of the economic status of the applicant's family, assessed in light of the data entered online and the documentation uploaded in the application.

Students in possession of the indicated economic requirements may enjoy reduced rate service tariffs according to the following table:

ISU Bracket ISEE/ISEEU parificato value 1st Bracket from € 0.00 to € 14,420.31 2nd Bracket from € 14,420.32 to € 17,709.34 3rd Bracket from € 17,709.35 to € 23,000.00

If, during later checks, the office identifies omissions or false or untrue declarations revealing a higher ISEE or ISPE than the maximum permitted value, students will be required to pay a sum equal to triple the benefit unduly received and will be referred to Bocconi University's Disciplinary Committee.

Students resident at reduced rate in the A/Y 2017-18 who submit, for the A/Y 2018-19, an ISEE/ISEEU higher than €23,000 and/or an ISPE/ISPEU higher than €50,000 may not confirm their reduced rate housing, but may request renewal of full rate housing according to the terms scheduled for the full rates; in particular, only students enrolled in the A/Y 2017-18 in the 1st year of a Bachelor program or Integrated Master program who enroll in the second year of the program for the A/Y 2018-19 may request renewal. If students later intend to submit an application for an ISU Bocconi Scholarship and in the meantime their ISEE/ISPE is changed and/or adjusted compared to what was submitted for the reduced rate

7

housing renewal application, the ISU bracket for the housing tariffs for the A/Y 2018-19 will be that established by the final ISU Scholarship ranking.

For applicant students who are citizens of non-European Union member states, whose family unit holds assets at December 31, 2017 or has produced income in 2016 in countries other than Italy, in accordance with the Decree of the Regional Council 2017, Italian Legislative Decree 286/98 and Italian Presidential Decree August 31, 1999 no. 394, declarations certifying income of less than 5,889 Euro per annum will not be deemed valid for suitability purposes as they are incompatible with the immigration rules.

Merit requirements Students enrolling for the A/Y 2018-19 after the first year and wishing to confirm their housing must also, in addition to the economic requirements, meet the merit requirements indicated below.

Bachelor (CDL) and Integrated Credits required at Max useable bonus Master (CLMG) August 10, 2018 (if not used in previous years) Renewal for 2nd year 49 5

Renewal for 3rd year 95 12 Renewal for 1st FC CDL 150 15 (only disabled persons) Renewal for 4th year CLMG 150 15

Renewal for 5th year CLMG 220 15 Renewal for 1st FC CLMG 274 15 (only disabled persons) Credits required at Max useable bonus Master of Science programs August 10, 2018 (if not used in previous years) Renewal for 2nd year 50 15 Renewal for 1st FC 94 15 (only disabled persons)

Students who, in the A/Y 2017-18, were housed at reduced rate and enrolled in the 3rd year of a Bachelor program and who have enrolled for the A/Y 2018-19 in the first year of a Bocconi Master program may confirm their reduced rate housing for the A/Y 2018-19. In this case, the merit requirements do not apply and the renewal will only be subject to meeting the economic requirements indicated below.

For program changes, for calculating the merit, only credits valid for the study program for which the benefit is requested or for the Bachelor, Master or Integrated Master program in which the student is enrolled in the A/Y 2018-19 will be considered.

To achieve the minimum merit requirements, all students enrolled in program years after the first may use, in addition to the credits actually achieved, a “bonus” by the following methods:

- If students have never used the bonus, they may claim bonus credits as indicated in the table. Using the bonus interrupts the right to accrue additional bonus credits. - If students have already used the bonus, they may in any case benefit from any residual credits not used in the year in which the bonus was used.

8

Students enrolled in Master of Science programs may use the residual bonus not used during the Bachelor program. The bonus is 15 credits if it has never been used during the Bachelor program.

Reasons for exclusion. The reduced rate housing renewal will exclude students who, in the A/Y 2018-19:

- are already in possession of a qualification at equivalent or higher level than the program for which the reduced rate housing is requested for the academic year 2018-19, achieved in Italy or abroad (including qualifications issued prior to the implementation of Italian Ministerial Decree 509/1999); - enrolling in a Master program, have already obtained a four-year qualification higher than Bachelor level; - enroll in the first year repeating or later, after the regular study program, unless they are in a condition of disability equal to or higher than 66%; - repeat or have repeated the enrollment in a program year already attended, even for transfers of Bachelor, Integrated Master, Master of Science or PhD programs or for changes of faculty and/or university campus; - students participating in double degree programs, selected or enrolled in the program by the partner University (DDIB CEU-Bocconi program, Double/Joint Degree programs), as they are not in possession of the requirements provided by the applications requirements and regulations; - are beneficiaries of a study scholarship to cover housing costs in Milan; - are beneficiaries of a Merit Award that includes free housing; - are resident in one of the “on campus” or “commuting” municipalities in accordance with Attachment D; - present an ISEE/ISEEU and/or ISPE/ISPEU higher than the set limits; - who in the A/Y 2017-18 have not submitted correct, true and full documentation; - who in the A/Y 2017-18 are assignees of the 4th bracket ISU Bocconi for having exceeded the economic-financial limits and who intend to enroll in the A/Y 2018-19 in years after the second for Bachelor and Integrated Master programs and for years after the first in Master of Science programs.

2.1.2 Timescales and methods for submitting application and necessary documentation

The reduced rate housing renewal application may be submitted from April 18, 2018 at 12:00 to May 10, 2018 at 12:00 (noon, Italian time), mandatory deadline. To submit the renewal application, students must:

- complete the online application through the procedure available on the website pages Fees, Funding and Housing;

- upload the necessary documentation: • for all students: o signed Bocconi Residence regulations;

• for Italian students resident in Italy: o ISEE certification for subsidized benefits for the right to university study issued in 2018; o financial statement for sole proprietorships or business activities at 12/31/2017, whether or not they are obligated to prepare financial statements;

• for students resident in countries other than Italy: o ISEEU parificato certification issued by the partnered CAF (Attachment E).

9

That document is mandatory for students enrolled in 2018-19 A/Y in a year after the first year of the program;

• for autonomous foreign students resident in Italy: o ISEE certifications for subsidized benefits for the right to university study issued in 2018; o financial statement for sole proprietorships or business activities at 12/31/2017, whether or not they are obligated to prepare financial statements.

Applications will only be accepted if accompanied by all information and necessary documentation.

If the renewal application is not submitted, students must leave their housing permanently at the end of the A/Y 2017-18 assignment.

Submission of the renewal application implies, in the case of suitability, automatic acceptance of the housing for the A/Y 2018-19. Students may withdraw from the housing only based upon the provisions of section 6.

2.1.3 Publication of outcomes and assignment Students will be informed of the outcome of the reduced rate housing renewal application from May 15, 2018. The renewal eligibility refers to possession of the necessary economic requirements based upon the economic documentation uploaded when submitting the application and is understood to be with “reserve” as to possession of the other requirements to be verified, for students assigned housing, by the end of August.

Students who receive the eligibility outcome must upload online the signed “Housing Acceptance” by the dates published in the outcome.

The uploaded documentation will be verified and validated by the office.

By the end of August, the office will verify possession of those requirements that could not be checked when communicating the outcome and thus the reason for the “reserve”. In particular, the following will be verified:

- Respect of the set merit requirements at 08/10/2018 (only for students in years after the first);

- Enrollment in the A/Y 2018-19.

Students are responsible for checking that the credits obtained are actually registered by August 10, 2018 and for enrolling in the academic year by August 31, 2018. If the conditions described above are not met, the assignment is lost and students who have already checked-in must leave the housing by August 31, 2018.

Students who have lost their housing due to insufficient academic merit may submit an application for “new admission - residual assignments”; if they are assigned a reduced rate room commencing from October they will pay the rate scheduled for their ISU bracket. Applications will only be considered if there is actual room availability.

The initial housing installment, corresponding to the four months September-December, including €20 for the resident activity fee, must be paid before check-in. Check-in must take place by September 10, 2018.

10

2.2 FULL RATE: RENEWAL APPLICATION

The housing renewal for students currently resident will not be sent automatically; those students must complete the renewal in the set timescales and methods. Such housing will be lost if a renewal application is not submitted.

2.2.1 Requirements for submitting application

Full rate housing for the A/Y 2018-19 may only be confirmed for those already assigned a full rate room when the housing renewal application is opened. Students may only request renewal for the room occupied in the A/Y 2017-18 and room changes may not be requested. Students wishing to change room and/or residence hall must not submit a renewal application but must instead enter a new admission application. Room assignments are in any case subject to the available places.

Only students enrolled for the A/Y 2017-18 in the 1st year of a Bachelor or Integrated Master program who have enrolled for the A/Y 2018-2019 in the second year of the program may confirm their housing for the year 2018-19. For students confirming their housing from the first to the second year of the program in the A/Y 2018-19, the merit assessments do not apply and the renewal will only be subject to respecting the ”Housing Acceptance” and submitting the application.

Full rate students enrolled for the A/Y 2018-19 in the second year of the program may not request renewal for subsequent years. Only students in a condition of disability equal to or higher than 66% may request renewal of the housing in subsequent years. The condition of disability will be verified by the office.

Students enrolled in the 1st year of a Bachelor or Integrated Master program in the A/Y 2017-18 who, in the same academic year, are assigned full rate housing after April 18, 2018 may not confirm their housing for the A/Y 2018-19; they may submit a new admission application and must leave their housing at the end of the assignment for the A/Y 2017-18.

Students occupying a room on temporary transfer are not entitled to request its renewal but may submit an application for one of the other possibilities indicated by these requirements and regulations.

Reasons for exclusion The full rate housing assignment will be excluded for students who, in the A/Y 2018-19: - repeat or have repeated the enrollment in a program year already attended, even for transfers of Bachelor, Integrated Master, Master of Science or PhD programs or for changes of faculty and/or university campus; - students participating in double degree programs, selected or enrolled in the program by the partner University (DDIB CEU-Bocconi program, Double/Joint Degree programs), as they are not in possession of the requirements provided by the application requirements and regulations; - are beneficiaries of a Merit Award that includes free housing; - are resident in one of the “on campus” or “commuting” municipalities in accordance with Attachment D; - present an ISEE/ISEEU and/or ISPE/ISPEU higher than the set limits; - students who in the A/Y 2018-19 enroll in years after the second of a Bachelor or Integrated Master program; - students who in the A/Y 2018-19 enroll in the second year of a Master of Science program.

11

2.2.2 Timescales and methods for submitting application

The full rate housing renewal application may be submitted from April 18, 2018 at 12:00 to May 10, 2018 at 12:00 (noon, Italian time), mandatory deadline.

To submit a renewal application, students must complete the online application and upload the necessary documentation via the procedure available on the website pages Fees, Funding and Housing.

If they fail to submit a renewal application, students must leave their housing permanently at the end of the A/Y 2017-18 assignment.

Students currently accommodated at full rate, interested in submitting a reduced rate application for the academic year 2018-19, may not request housing renewal but must submit an application for new reduced rate admission (3.1); any assignment will be subject to priority given to new admission students enrolled in the first year.

Submission of the renewal application implies, in the case of eligibility, automatic acceptance of the housing for the A/Y 2018-19. Students may withdraw from the housing only based upon the provisions of section 6.

2.2.3 Publication of outcomes and assignment

Students will be informed of the outcome of the full rate housing renewal application from May 15, 2018.

Students receiving a positive outcome and wishing to accept the housing must upload online the signed “Housing Acceptance” by the dates published in the outcome.

Once the uploaded documentation has been verified by the office, students will be considered to be assignees “with reserve” relating to the enrollment for the A/Y 2018-19 in the second year of a Bachelor or Integrated Master program (or subsequent years only for those in a condition of disability equal to or higher than 66%).

Students are responsible for enrolling in the academic year by August 31, 2018. The check of enrollment in the A/Y 2018-19 will be performed by August and those who have not enrolled for the academic year must leave the residence hall by August 31, 2018.

Those students may submit a new request with possible assignment commencing from October. Requests will only be considered if there is actual room availability.

The first housing installment, corresponding to the four months September-December, including €20 for the resident activity fee, must be paid before check-in. Check-in must take place by September 10, 2018.

12

SECTION 3: NEW HOUSING ADMISSION – FIRST ASSIGNMENTS

3.1 REDUCED RATE: NEW ADMISSION APPLICATION FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS AND LATER YEARS

3.1.1 Requirements for submitting application

In addition to what is defined in point 1.3, students in possession of the economic and merit requirements indicated below may submit an application for reduced rate housing. The assignment will be made based upon the ranking.

The assignment ranking order for new admission students will be constructed as follows:

1. new admission students in a situation of disability, with invalidity equal to or greater than 66% 2. first year students in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd bracket based upon the ISEE indicator for subsidized benefits for the right to university study; 3. students in years after the first in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd bracket based upon the academic merit achieved (3.1.1).

There is also a reserve for PhD students: only for housing intended for new reduced rate admissions, there will be a reserve of 4 places exclusively for students enrolled on PhD programs, as follows:

- 1 for the first program year - 1 for the second program year - 1 for the third program year - 1 for the fourth program year

If those students request reduced rate housing and are suitable in accordance with these requirements and regulations, they may apply exclusively for the assignment of housing included in that reserve.

Economic requirements

Students may request reduced rate housing provided that they meet the economic requirements indicated below. The student's economic condition will be identified based upon the ISEE issued for benefits for the right to university study, and the ISPE.

The ISEE must be issued in reference to the student's tax code and must not contain “omissions/deformities/discordances”.

The ISPE, on the other hand, will be calculated by the University based upon the data provided by INPS dividing the ISP (Financial Situation Indicator) value by the equivalence scale.

Students (Italian or foreign) not resident in Italy and non-autonomous foreign students with a family unit residing abroad must request a replacement indicator of the ISEE and ISPE value for the purpose of “subsidized benefits for the right to university study” known as ISEEU/ISPEU parificato. The ISEEU/ISPEU parificato may only be issued by the CAF (Tax Assistance Center) partnered with the Bocconi University (Attachment E).

13

For the academic year 2018-19, the approved limits are the following:

 ISEE/ISEEU parificato no higher than €23,000

 ISPE/ISPEU parificato no higher than €50,000 The assignment of reduced rate housing and the tariffs of the housing service are made based upon the economic status of the applicant's family, assessed in light of the data entered online and the documentation uploaded in the application. Students in possession of the indicated economic requirements may enjoy reduced rate services according to the following table:

ISU Bracket ISEE/ISEEU parificato value 1st Bracket from € 0.00 to € 14,420.31 2nd Bracket from € 14,420.32 to € 17,709.34 3rd Bracket from € 17,709.35 to € 23,000.00

If, during later checks, the office identifies omissions or false or untrue declarations revealing a higher ISEE or ISPE than the maximum permitted value, students will be required to pay a sum equal to triple the benefit unduly received and will be referred to Bocconi University's Disciplinary Committee.

Students who present an ISEE higher than €23,000 and/or an ISPE higher than €50,000 may not be assigned reduced rate housing and will automatically be excluded from the ranking. Applicants may then submit a full rate housing application according to the set timescales and methods.

If students later intend to submit an application for an ISU Bocconi Scholarship and in the meantime their ISEE/ISPE is changed and/or adjusted compared to that submitted for the application for new admission to reduced rate housing, the ISU bracket for the housing tariffs for the 2018-19 A/Y will be that established by the final ISU Scholarship ranking.

394, declarations certifying income less than 5,889 Euro per annum will not be deemed valid for suitability purposes as they are incompatible with the immigration rules. Those students may not be assigned reduced rate housing and will be automatically excluded from the ranking. Applicants may then submit full rate housing applications according to the set timescales and methods.

Merit requirements Students who are enrolled in the first year in A/Y 2018-19 do not have to meet the merit requirements. Only students who enroll for the A/Y 2018-19 in a year after the first and who wish to apply for reduced rate housing must meet, in addition to the economic requirements, also the merit requirements indicated below.

For program changes, for the purposes of calculating the merit, only credits valid for the study program for which the benefit is requested or for the Bachelor, Master of Science or Integrated Master program on which the student is enrolled in the A/Y 2018-19 will be considered.

To achieve the minimum merit requirements, all students enrolled in program years after the first may use, in addition to the credits actually achieved, a “bonus” by the following methods:

- If students have never used the bonus, they may claim bonus credits as indicated in the above table. Using the bonus interrupts the right to accrue additional bonus credits.

- If students have already used the bonus, they may in any case benefit from any residual credits not used in the year in which the bonus was used.

Students enrolled in Master of Science programs may use the residual bonus not used during the Bachelor program. The bonus is 15 credits if it has never been used during the Bachelor program.

Reasons for exclusion. The reduced rate housing assignment will exclude students who, in the A/Y 2018-19:

- are already in possession of a qualification of equivalent or higher level than the program for which the reduced rate housing is requested for the academic year 2018-19, achieved in Italy or abroad (including qualifications issued prior to the implementation of Italian Ministerial Decree 509/1999); - enrolling in a Master degree program, have already obtained a four-year qualification higher than Bachelor level; - enroll in the first year repeating or later, after the regular study program, unless they are in a condition of disability equal to or higher than 66%; - repeat or have repeated the enrollment in a program year already attended, even for transfers of Bachelor, Integrated Master, Master of Science or PhD programs or for changes of faculty and/or university campus; - students participating in double degree programs, selected or enrolled in the program by the partner University (DDIB CEU-Bocconi program, Double/Joint Degree programs), as they are not in possession of the requirements provided by the application requirements and regulations; - are beneficiaries of a study scholarship to cover housing costs in Milan; - are beneficiaries of a Merit Award that includes free housing; - present an ISEE/ISEEU and/or ISPE/ISPEU higher than the set limits. 15

3.1.2 - Timescales and methods for submitting application and documentation

The application for new reduced rate admission, both for first year students and for later years, must be submitted exclusively online following the procedure available on the website pages Fees, Funding and Housing from May 14, 2018 at 12:00 to May 28, 2018 at 12:00 (noon, Italian time), mandatory deadline.

When submitting the reduced rate application, students do not choose the preferred residence hall and/or room but, if deemed eligible, they are automatically attributed one of the residences reserved for reduced rate students.

To submit an application for new reduced rate admission, the student must:

- complete the online application - upload the necessary documentation:

• for all students: o signed Bocconi Residence regulations;

• for Italian students resident in Italy: o ISEE certification for subsidized benefits for the right to university study issued in 2018; o financial statement for sole proprietorships or business activities at 12/31/2017, whether or not they are obligated to prepare financial statements;

• for students resident in countries other than Italy: o ISEEU parificato certification issued by the partnered CSF (Attachment E). That document is mandatory for students enrolled in 2018-19 A/Y in a year after the first year of the program;

• for autonomous foreign students resident in Italy: o ISEE certifications for subsidized benefits for the right to university study issued in 2018; o Financial statement for sole proprietorships or business activities at 12/31/2017, whether or not they are obligated to prepare financial statements.

If first year students in A/Y 2018-19 resident abroad are unable to obtain the ISEEU certification in good time, they must, at the application stage, upload the following “alternative documentation” issued by the competent authorities of the State in which the income was produced, legalized by the Italian diplomatic or consular representative abroad and accompanied by an Italian translation of the foreign text, certified by the competent diplomatic or consular representative, or by an official translator:

• Copy of a valid identity document (passport, identity card) and tax code; • Document certifying composition of the foreign family unit; • Income declaration for the 2016 calendar year for each family member (the document must clearly show income referring to the 2016 calendar year. If, during 2016, one or more family unit members aged above or equal to 18 has not received income, they are in any case obliged to submit a declaration accordingly); • Official document certifying buildings owned by the family at the date of 12.31.2017 indicating their area in square meters (the document must be issued by the competent public authority in that regard). If no buildings were owned in 2017, a respective certificate must be produced certifying that non-ownership for each member aged above or equal to 18; • Official documents attesting movable assets of the family household as of 31.12.2017:

16

- balance of bank and/or deposit accounts, - account balance of shares, dividends, shareholdings, - financial statement provided by Bocconi University attesting equity of business activities to be filled out by the accountant in charge of tax assistance

If students having income and assets in countries other than Italy do not upload the ISEEU certification but do upload the “alternative documentation”, the suitability outcome will be conditional until the Office has completed its documentary checks. Those checks may even be concluded after the housing has been assigned. If the “alternative documentation” check reveals that the ISEE and/or ISPE exceeds the set limits, the housing assignment will be invalidated.

3.1.3 - Publication of outcomes and assignment

Students will be informed of the outcome of the new admission application for reduced rate housing from 06/04/2018.

The suitability in the ranking refers to possession of the economic requirements based upon the economic documentation uploaded when submitting the application and is understood to be with “reserve” relating to possession of the other requirements which will be verified, for students assigned housing, by the end of August. The suitability outcome does not imply the actual assignment of housing, as the housing availability will depend upon the places confirmed by resident students for 2017-18.

Housing attributions for suitable students will be made in the ranking order, as specified in point 3.1.1, starting from 06/05/2018 and will be communicated online and/or by email. Offers made may not be changed even if further housing becomes available later.

Suitable students who are offered housing may accept it, by uploading the following documentation via the online procedure, by and not beyond the deadlines scheduled by the offer:

- Signed “Housing Acceptance”; - Payment receipt of the €500 security deposit.

If the housing is not accepted and the security deposit is not paid by the indicated deadline, the benefit will be forfeited and will be re-assigned to the student listed next in the ranking.

The uploaded documentation will be checked and validated by the office.

If the student withdraws early from the housing assignment, the conditions on withdrawal (section 6) shall apply.

By the end of August, the office will verify possession of those requirements that could not be checked when publishing the ranking and thus the reason for the “reserve”. In particular, the following will be verified:

- respect of the necessary merit requirements at 08/10/2018 (only for students of years after the first); - enrollment in the A/Y 2018-19;

17

- the “alternative documentation” for 1st year students having income and assets in countries other than Italy who have not obtained and uploaded in good time the ISEEU certification issued by the CAF partnered with the University.

The applicant student is responsible for checking that the credits obtained are actually registered by August 10, 2018 and enrolling in the academic year by August 31, 2018. If the conditions described above are not met, the assignment is lost and students who have already checked in must leave the residence by August 31, 2018. Students who have forfeited their housing due to insufficient academic merit may submit an application for “new admission - residual assignments” and if assigned a room at reduced rate commencing from October they will pay the rate scheduled for their ISU bracket. Requests are only considered if there are actually rooms available.

The first housing installment, corresponding to the four months September-December, including €20 for the resident activity fee, must be paid before check-in. Check-in must take place by September 10, 2018.

3.1.4 - Housing renewal criteria from A/Y 2019-20

Renewal of housing for students enrolled in the first year in the A/Y 2018-19 and who enroll in the second year in A/Y 2019-20, is guaranteed for those who:

To achieve the minimum merit requirements, all students enrolled in program years after the first may use, in addition to the credits actually obtained, a “bonus” by the following methods:

- If students have never used the bonus, they may claim bonus credits as indicated in the above table. Using the bonus interrupts the right to accrue additional bonus credits;

- If students have already used the bonus, they may in any case benefit from any residual credits not used in the year in which the bonus was used.

Students enrolled in Master of Science programs may use the residual bonus not used during the Bachelor program. The bonus is 15 credits if it has never been used during the Bachelor program.

For students who are enrolled in the 3rd year of a Bachelor program in the A/Y 2020-2021 and who intend to enroll in the 1st year of a Master of Science program in the A/Y 2021-2022, the merit requirements do not apply and the renewal will only be subject to meeting the economic requirements indicated in the relevant regulations.

3.2 FULL RATE: NEW ADMISSION APPLICATION FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

For new admission applications for first year students at full rate for A/Y 2018-19, rooms previously not occupied by renewals for any reason or by assignments at reduced rate are made available, in the number of at least 500.

o a Bachelor program; o an Integrated Master program; o a Master of Science program; o a PhD program at the Bocconi University.

Only students with a disability equal to or greater than 66% may submit an application irrespective of the municipality of residence.

Reasons for exclusion

The full rate housing assignment will exclude students who, in the A/Y 2018-19:

- are already in possession of a qualification of equivalent or higher level than the program for which the full rate housing is requested for the academic year 2018-19, achieved in Italy or abroad (including qualifications issued prior to the implementation of Italian Ministerial Decree 509/1999);

20

1) Access the online procedure available at the website pages Fees, Funding and Housing by entering the credentials (user ID and password) already used for the enrollment application;

2) Complete and confirm the application as soon as possible.

The first 100 applicants will be positioned in the first slot; the next 100 in the second slot and so on.

In this phase, all students assigned to the same slot may at the same time view the types of available room and select the preferred room until there are no more places available for each site and/or room type.

Rooms with shared bathroom may only be assigned to students of the same sex and therefore the applicant's gender may limit room availability.

Once the chosen option has been selected, students must confirm the reservation and upload the “Housing Acceptance” and the signed Residence Regulations.

In order for the reservation to become a final room booking, students must, by the deadlines communicated when making the reservation: a) Pay the €500 security deposit by the methods published online; b) Upload the security deposit payment receipt; c) Conclude the online procedure.

If the housing is not accepted and the security deposit is not paid by the indicated deadline, the assignment will be forfeited.

The first housing installment, corresponding to the four months September-December, including €20 for the resident activity fee, must be paid before check-in. Check-in must take place by September 10, 2018.

Any rooms available at the end of the assignments will once again be made available to all students, both first years and those enrolled in years after the first, in the application “New housing admissions - residual assignments” commencing from 3pm on 08/28/2018 (section 4). 21

Students assigned a type of housing provided also at reduced rate may ask the Office to benefit from the reduced rate only if they are assignees of an ISU Bocconi bracket after the publication of the final ranking of the ISU Bocconi scholarship.

26

Students who become assignees in this phase for the A/Y 2018-19, later wishing to confirm the room in subsequent academic years, must comply with all merit, income and residence requirements in place at that time for each separate housing admission method.

27

29

SECTION 7: ATTACHMENTS

Each attachment is an integral part of the Housing Application Requirements and Regulations.

ATTACHMENT A: Bocconi Residence Regulations

Introduction Bocconi Housing assignments are made with the aim of offering off-campus students the possibility to study at Bocconi in a comfortable and scholastic environment. The residences meet a variety of student needs: from the fundamental and practical need to have a stable base from which to attend university to the need to develop social relationships. The Bocconi residences provide an environment for cultural and educational enrichment.

Students are considered personally responsible for misconduct or negligence carried out in violation of the rules of these Regulations and/or the rules of civil coexistence and/or legal provisions or, in any case, any conduct that is contrary to public order. The University assumes no responsibility, including financial responsibility (civil, criminal or administrative) for direct or indirect damage of any nature caused to things and/or persons deriving from the abovementioned conduct.

Article 1

Residents for the entire period of the housing assignment, in accordance with the regulations, will enjoy access to the residence premises within the limits set forth in current regulations and with regard to the rights and freedoms of other students. As housing assignments are strictly non-transferable, an assigned placement shall not be given to, used by or shared with any third parties, even temporarily. A breach of this rule will result in the immediate termination of a resident’s housing assignment, loss of the security deposit and referral to the Disciplinary Board, and may result in civil and criminal penalties for the resident.

Article 2

Residents must practice good and appropriate conduct that is respectful of the personal integrity and dignity of others, as well as the integrity and decorum of the places wherein university life takes place. Residents will not disturb or prevent other residents from living and studying in a comfortable environment in any way. Anyone who does not comply with these regulations will be removed from the Bocconi residences, with the loss of their security deposit and referral to the Disciplinary Board.

Article 3

Residents are responsible for maintaining their assigned rooms in good order, as well as the common areas, furniture and fittings, fixtures and equipment, floors and walls. Bocconi University staff and residence management may undertake periodic inspections of rooms for service purposes. A second key to each room is available for the use of residence management. Residents may not install any door-locking device in their rooms other than that which is in place. Resident students must allow maintenance, cleaning and security staff to have access to their rooms. It is the specific obligation of residents to provide timely communications – through the proper online form – to the head of residence management of any damage or malfunctioning of the housing that s/he is aware of.

30

Residents must leave their rooms in the same hygienic and sanitary conditions as when they arrived. Any restoration costs are the responsibility of the student and will be reimbursed to the residence manager. In case of default, the security deposit will be withheld until the student has fully complied with his/her obligations.

Article 4 Pursuant to paragraph 7 of Attachmenture 1/A to Italian Law 180 of 18/7/80, no. 406, the use of any kind of stove for heating food, gas heaters or electric heaters with an open heating element, kerosene or coal-burning or other similar heaters, other than those provided, is prohibited in students’ rooms. The use of electrical appliances and similar equipment for heating or cooling is also prohibited.

Article 5 Students may have visitors, within the limits set out in the articles below and on condition that they do not disturb other residents. Visitors must respect the Regulations in force while they are in the building. The resident is responsible for all aspects of his/her guest’s behavior, including disciplinarily with regards to the University, and is responsible for violations of the Regulations carried out by his/her guests. Meetings with non-residents, as well as meetings of residents, must take place in the designated areas. The management may from time to time authorize non-residents to visit rooms, subject to those visitors leaving a valid ID at reception. Visitors must leave the room and the residence building each day by 12am midnight. Any breach will result in the expulsion from the residence with loss of the security deposit and referral to the Disciplinary Board. Management reserves the right to carry out checks and to seek compensation from those responsible for any theft of or damage to furniture, fittings, structures or anything else in their care. The cost of repair of damage caused shall be billed to those responsible.

Article 6 The management of the residence and the related Students’ Commission are responsible for ensuring compliance with the above rules for communal living, and for notifying Bocconi University, where necessary, of any breach that occurs or is repeated, so that the appropriate measures may be taken. Any complaint about staff, service, other residents or any other kind whatsoever, must be made to ISU Bocconi/Fees, Funding and Housing Office, who will pass the complaint on to management. The use of radios, televisions, etc., must not disturb others and may not be used between 12am midnight and 7am.

Article 7 In the case of inappropriate conduct by residents, serious breaches of the Regulations in force, or damage to residence furniture or fittings, management shall report the occurrence to Bocconi University so that the relevant disciplinary measures may be taken. If the responsible party of the damage is not identified, the cost of damage reparations to return items to state of the art conditions will occur as follows: - damage inside the room: billed to the resident assigned that room; - damage inside the apartment: billed to all residents of that apartment; - damage on a floor: billed to all residents of that floor; - damage in the common areas: billed all residents of the residence.

31

Article 8 Repeated absence without a reason given will result in permanent eviction of the resident from the accommodation building.

Article 9 A resident’s housing assignment will be automatically and immediately terminated in the event: - the resident transfers to another university; - the resident withdraws from Bocconi; - the resident graduates. In this case, the accommodation must be left permanently by the end of the same month. The interested party may request to be allowed the possibility of using the accommodation at the full rate until the end of the housing assignment; - the resident incurs disciplinary sanctions greater than an official reprimand; - the resident is responsible for serious violations of the Bocconi Housing regulations; - the resident does not complete the housing fee payment within 40 days from its deadline. Such students will lose the right to apply for a housing placement for the entire duration of her/his program of studies and will have to vacate his/her assigned room immediately. The academic career will be released only after the student has submitted proof of payment for the pending fees.

Article 10 Resident students who are behind on their payments, or who have been removed from the residence for disciplinary or other reasons, must remove all their property from the building after Bocconi University has exercised its rights over it pursuant to Article 2760 of the Italian Civil Code. If students do not comply with this regulation, residence staff has the right to seize items left behind on the premises, where they will be held for a year for the owner to collect them. Regarding the operation and the possible necessity to open any wardrobes or drawers, a report will be made, witnessed by two persons and a representative of Bocconi University.

Article 11 Bocconi University is not responsible for any goods, valuables, money, etc., that residents keep in their rooms. Students may request management to store valuable objects in a safe, where this service is available.

Article 12 The accommodation fees are annual and may be paid in advance according to the procedures and by the deadlines communicated to guests when required. If the student does not pay the due housing fee within 20 days from the deadline specified on the MAV, her/his academic career will be blocked: s/he will not be able to take exams or access University services, such as the library or the dining hall. The academic career will be released only after the student has submitted proof of payment for the pending fees.

Article 13 Newly assigned residents must pay a housing deposit of €500.00. This deposit shall be returned to the student, without interest, when the student permanently leaves the assigned housing, on condition that the student has no outstanding debts to the University or to the management. The security deposit will not be returned if the student leaves the residence early for personal reasons, and will be kept as a deposit in case of default. The security deposit may also be used to contribute towards compensation for any damage caused to residence facilities as well as to returning the room to proper hygienic and sanitary conditions and maintaining the room in good order.

Article 14

However, residence gatherings, debates among residents, tournaments and movie discussion groups may be organized, unless music and alcoholic drinks are expected.

Article 18 Bocconi University reserves the right to transfer guests, even during the year, to another residence hall at the rate required for the new residence.

Article 19 Residents who do not follow the rules in these Regulations will be reported to the Rector of Bocconi University for disciplinary provisions which could lead to permanent eviction from the residence, loss of the security deposit and referral to the Disciplinary Board, and for the revocation of scholarships or any other financial assistance.

Article 20 Internet connection is a common service for all Bocconi residents. A proper use is recommended, avoiding overuse with a connection for too long and/or over-download. This in respect of everyone’s right to use it equally. Therefore, in the event of excessive traffic both for academic and personal reasons, internet connection may not be guaranteed in full and/or some sites may not be available. Regarding the use of internet: - in residences a maximum of two devices receiving data is allowed (e.g. PCs, smartphones and tablets) for each guest; - it is strictly forbidden to connect routers or other devices with a similar function to the residence network: any devices with router functions discovered in housing units will be sequestered and the student responsible for the housing unit will be subject to a fine of 100 euros; - any improper use of the network and in particular, illegal downloading and use of content covered by copyright, will amount to cause for referral to the Disciplinary Board;

The University reserves the right to prohibit use of the residence internet coverage for defined periods for students who are responsible for violating these regulations or uses that penalize other guests in the residence in the use of available network.

ATTACHMENT E: ISEEU parificato Certificate

International students with or without residence in Italy who are not independent and with family members who are residents abroad must have an ISEEU parificato Certificate in order to request access to benefits for equal access to university studies for the 2018-2019 a.y.

This document may only be requested at the Centro Servizi Fiscali (CSF) of Milan, which has an agreement with Bocconi University, in Corso di Porta Vittoria 43.

Informational support is available to students by phone at the number +39 02540211, Mondays through Fridays from 9:00am to 12:30pm and from 1:30 to 5:30pm. Students may also request an in-person appointment using their weekly electronic agenda (appointments can be made by phone or on the website). It is therefore the student’s responsibility to schedule a meeting with the CSF in a timely manner. The “ISEEU parificato” certificate will be issued during the meeting, unless the documentation provided is incomplete or non-compliant.

The following documents are required for the issuance of the ISEEU parificato certificate: 1. Copy of a valid ID (i.e. passport, identity card) and fiscal code; 2. Document attesting the composition of the student’s family household; 3. Income tax declaration for the 2016 calendar year for each member of the family household (the document must clearly attest the incomes referred to the 2016 calendar year. If during 2016 one or more members of the family household of age have not earned any income, a document certifying this is required; 4. Official document attesting ownership of real estate of any family household members as of 31.12.2017 with indication of the square meters (the document must be released by the relevant authority on this subject). If in 2017 no real estate was owned by the family, it is necessary to provide a certificate attesting the absence of properties for every member of age of the family household; 5. Official documents attesting movable assets of the family household as of 31.12.2017: • balance of bank and/or deposit accounts, • account balance of shares, dividends, shareholdings, • financial statement provided by Bocconi University attesting equity of business activities to be filled out by the accountant in charge of tax assistance

The abovementioned documents must be: • Issued by the relevant authorities of the country where income was earned; • Legalized by the qualified local Italian diplomatic or consular authorities of the given country or with the Apostille stamp; • Documents mentioned above, issued in foreign language, must be provided together with a compliant Italian translation, certified by qualified local Italian diplomatic representatives or by an official translator.

The calculation of the parameters will be carried out only if documents submitted by students are issued by the competent authorities in the country where income was earned. Please note: the CSF will not calculate the “ISEEU parificato” should one of the following situations occur: - Income documents not referring to the 2016 calendar year; - Documents attesting real estate ownership not referring to the 2017 calendar year; - Documents non translated into Italian by an official translator; Documents released by private entities and not by the competent authorities in the country where income was earned. 40
