The Boston Globe recently launched a new Ticket to The Arts self service system. We have streamlined the ad ordering process and introduced new features and functionality. One of those features is the ‘Subordinate\Client’ functionality. This new feature allows agency representatives to create, edit and delete ads on behalf of their clients. Other features of the new self service system include the ability to upload color images, receive immediate proofs and price quote, and invoicing options.

The Boston Globe Boston.com Created 2013 Subordinate\Client Functionality Concept

In an effort to streamline the ad ordering process, and make it easier for our Agency customers to manage their client’s ads, The Boston Globe has introduced the ‘Subordinate \ Client’ functionality to the self service system. This functionality allows agencies to create, edit, and delete ads on behalf of their clients.

In the example below, the company Performing Arts is the agency, and clients A and B are subordinate clients to the Performing Arts account. Please note: An agency account can have more than one client, since most agencies have more than one customer.

As an agency, you have subordinate (Client accounts) linked to your account with the ability to select any one of those subordinates and log in as that account and create an order in the system. Your subordinate users (your Client accounts) are available in the menu below. You can also type characters to filter a long subordinate list.

Step 2 – Take note that you are logged into the system with your agency account. Next, highlight a customer (Client account) that you would like to place an ad for, and select the ‘Switch user’ button.

It is important to NOT place an ad directly using your agency account. You must first log into your agency account, then select the appropriate client account to place a Ticket to The Arts ad on their behalf.
