BIOGRAPHY : Truly special bands take risks. It is a proven fact. And in an age where hardcore has reached almost laughable proportions of oversaturation and repetition, finally a band has come along which has not only pushed the envelope, but completely shredded it. On Healing In Surrender, the debut release from At The Onset, we find a band which has captured authentic-scene metalcore sounds alongside soaring pop/rock hooks. An ambitious undertaking? Absolutely. But 100% intentional in its schizophrenia. Passionate, emotional and universal, this is a record with a broad base of influences. Tracks like “Anthem” (the first radio single) are as catchy and commercial as anything you will hear on active rock or CHR radio, with sounds that will sit well with fans of bands like Switchfoot or TFK. Whereas tracks like “Ruin and Rebirth” are raw, ready for the primal dances of kiddies typically found en masse at Demon Hunter or UnderOath shows. Healing In Surrender is a dynamic and genuinely surprising journey in which the listener will be intrigued at every sonic turn.
