no, I U I A RHETORICAL ANALYSIS OF THE SERMONS OF DAVID ELTON TRUEBLOOD Frank H. Cooley A Dissertation Submitted to the Graduate School of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY March 1973 Approved by Doctoral Committee / Advisor Graduate School Representative SAcfo> 545355 ''Yto .Ibi ABSTRACT David. Elton Trueblood is professor at large at Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana. As founder and president of Yokefellows Inter national, he is an internationally known writer and speaker. The methodology employed included the traditional canons of rhetoric, a biographical sketch, his theories on preaching, and his mode of speech preparation. The study was based upon interviews with Dr. Trueblood and his associates, his personal file (1920-1972), publications, and correspondence. The inquiry revealed Trueblood as a Quaker, Yokefellow, theologian, philosopher, and a preacher. He reflected his precepts and ethical profile by preaching with a genuine concern for others. His mode of speaking is extemporaneous. Trueblood's arrangement indicated thorough preparation. There was no definite pattern exhibited toward the parts of a speech, but his sermons characterized his awareness of the value of audience contact. He provided variety in an orderly manner. The inventive characteristics of Trueblood indicated he relied heavily upon source credibility, but he used logic, and to a lesser extent, emotional proof. His sermons promoted the ecumenical move ment of the Christian faith. Figuratively language was utilized to enhance the audience's understanding. Narrations, descriptions, definitions, comparisons, and contrasts were Trueblood's primary tools through which he presented vivid images of his thoughts and ideas.

Azeroth Updated 08-15-19 Version 1.0 By: Silentcrypt ─ Welcome to Azeroth, a land of magic and endless war. A world where dragons soar and demons prowl the night. The two major factions, The Horde and The Alliance, battle for, well honestly no one knows anymore, they just like killing one another. But don’t let the magical nature of this world fool you, for there is evil lurking everywhere, even in the heart of the planet itself. The Old Gods, the Twilight Cult, 1 the Scourge, the Burning Legion, the Cult of the Damned, and many, many other threats abound on Azeroth. This Jumpchain assumes the Jumper has, at least, basic understanding of World of Warcraft before taking this Jump. If you are not familiar with WoW, the expansions, the races, classes, or items listed within, I implore you to look up videos on youtube or subscribe to WoW yourself and check it out. I will not spend too much time covering well-known things like classes or the playable races, and most of the attention will be focused on items and races you can’t get in the game or there is little knowledge of even within the game. Again, if you are new, I encourage you to check out Youtube (Nobbel87 is a pretty good source for lore) and do a bit of research on your own. As with all Jumps, you start off with 1000 CP to spend on whatever you like. 2 Location You may choose any location on Azeroth that was available during World of Warcraft Classic and on the two major continents Kalimdor and The Eastern Kingdoms.

HOMOPHONIC TRANSLATION, APPOSITIONAL WRITING, AND THE MONSTER Ryan L. Clark 235 Pages December 2013 This dissertation features a combination of critical and creative work exploring the ethics of appropriative writing and the reparative potential of homophonic translation. The opening essay examines the ethics of appropriation-based poetry and introduces the concept of what I call “appositional writing,” a term to describe ethically-minded works of poetry that make use of appropriative writing methods. The next three parts of this dissertation are each appositional writing projects that make use of homophonic translation as the primary method of composition. “Arizona State Bill 1070: An Act” is a homophonic translation of the anti-immigration bill of the same name. In this work, I investigate at various points the idea of borders, the necessity of migration, the politics of race and language, and xenophobia.
