Tournament Update Our next EMGA Tournament will be on 22 May. This is the Individual Modified Stableford Tournament with a 0800 shotgun start on the Silver course. Sign-in will be between 0645 and 0730 in the EGC Snack Bar. Many have indicated members with whom that they wish to play with and when possible, we will try to make it happen. Remember, this is a flighted tournament with optional skins. Net Skins will be for the field. Gross will be by tee. The signup sheet is in the EMGA book in the Pro shop. You also can sign up using the EMGA website. The EGC pro shop has been advised NOT to sign up members by telephone for tournaments, as in many instances they do not always find time to do it and members are left off the player list. It is the member’s responsibility to sign up, not the Pro Shop. Reminder, no-shows will not be allowed to participate in the following tournament. Members must participate in two EMGA events in order to qualify for the Kregel Championship. Match Play The 2014 EMGA Match Play Tournament is underway. It has been a good start in 2015 with an increase of $60,538 which is just over an 18% growth in revenues. Cart fees are up $14,157 to prior year mostly due to the $1.00 increase. Operating expenses are up 4% to prior year due to the increase in labor as a result of better weather and more play through April. Triple Crown has increased by 10 members. Alec asked what the current membership is at this point. Jamie reported that it is 78. The IGA is now at its highest number ever at members. On a monthly basis we hold golf tournaments for this group with about 50 men participating, some of which is a result of some of the closures of area courses. The PGA TOUR ranked first in overall satisfaction among the 16 major sports. This is important as we continue to raise the exposure of our tournaments, provide significant value to our sponsors and showcase the widespread excellence of our athletes. The competition level on the PGA TOUR in 2003 was at an all-time high, with season-ending honors going down to the wire. Tiger Woods recorded a season-high five victories and the lowest stroke average on TOUR and garnered a fifth consecutive Player of the Year honor. Vijay Singh won four times and captured his first money title. Davis Love III won a career-high four times, includ- ing THE PLAYERS Championship, making 2003 the first time in 30 years where three players won four or more times in a season. However, the depth of the TOUR was never more evident. Eleven players age 40 or older combined to capture 15 PGA TOUR titles.

With her two-stroke victory yesterday over the three golfers who tied for second, Sorenstam again stepped into the company of the legendary Mickey Wright as one of only two golfers who have reached 10 or more wins in an LPGA season. Sorenstam's round of 3-under-par 69 Sunday at the difficult Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach put her at 282, six under par for the 72-hole event. The win was her 66th and placed her third on the all-time victory list behind Kathy Whitworth (88) and Wright (82). For the year, Sorenstam won half the events she entered, compiling an amazing record of 10 wins in 20 starts. At her present pace, she would catch Whitworth early in the 2008 season. "I am still 22 wins away," said Sorenstam, who captured her sixth Vare Trophy for the lowest scoring average, finishing at 69.33, fourth best in LPGA history and more than 1.5 strokes ahead of runner-up Cristie Kerr. "It seems like so much but, again, I am on my way. That's what really pushes me -- to do what nobody else has done." As winner of the Rolex Player of the Year, the Vare Trophy and the LPGA money title with $2.6 million in earnings, Sorenstam takes the Triple Crown of women's golf for the fifth time, an unprecedented achievement in a career that has seen many.
