The Bachelor of Science and Laurea Magistrale programmes in Mechanical Engineering are accredited by the Ministry of Education, University and Research according to the procedure of Self-evaluation, Periodic Assessment and Accreditation (AVA). It is certified that the contents of the course are implemented within the ministerial schemes corresponding to the name, and that the institution that provides the course has adequate capacity in terms of infrastructure and management. The courses have also obtained the EUR-ACE (European Accreditation System of Engineering Degree Programmes) label: this is a further accreditation compared to the ministerial one, and involves comparison with training and educational standards according to parameters established and recognised at European level.

POLIMI SPORT

The PoloSportivo project, a sports service for students enrolled at the Politecnico di Milano, is in operation at the Piacenza Campus. Students can take advantage of agreements, operational within the PoliMi Sport University project, with several sports facilities in the city. By subscribing to the POLIMI SPORT CARD, students have free access to gyms and swimming facilities. They can also take advantage of discounted subscriptions at some facilities. The card, which has an annual cost and expires on August 31 of each year, can be obtained from the Registrar’s Office of the Piacenza Campus.

EXPERIENCE ABROAD

The Politecnico di Milano offers its students various opportunities to carry out recognised periods of study abroad at foreign universities: • period of study at partner universities in EU and non-EU countries (e.g. Erasmus, bilateral agreements, etc.); • double degree projects with Euro- pean and non-European universities; • special programmes: Unitech, Alliance4Tech, Idea League; • internship in companies or university laboratories. All students of the Politecnico di Milano can participate in the annual Call for International Mobility and can be selected to spend a period of time abroad, which generally varies from six months to a year. The educational credits acquired abroad are then recognised as an integral part of the student's curriculum.
