AUTOVIA PADANA TO OPERATE THE PIACENZA–CREMONA–BRESCIA

MOTORWAY CONCESSION

- The concession comes into effect as of March 1, 2018, for a 25- years period

- The deal reinforces Sias’s strategic commitment in Italy, positioning the Group as one of the country’s major private investors in the transport infrastructure sector, and its role as the leading motorway operator in the North-West of the country.

Tortona, 28 February 2018. Sias announces that an agreement was signed today between the company Autovia Padana (70% owned by the subsidiary Satap and 30% owned by the associate Itinera), the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) and Centropadane (the outgoing concession holder) for the take-over of the A21 Piacenza–Cremona–Brescia motorway concession by Autovia Padana.

As required by the tender rules, Autovia Padana has paid €260 million plus VAT on the taxable amount, and the price of €41 million for the concession to the MIT.

The 25-year concession now held by Autovia Padana will come into effect as of 1 March 2018.

The A21 Piacenza–Cremona–Brescia motorway runs for 88.6 kilometres across the two regions of Emilia Romagna and Lombardy, connecting the A21 Torino–Piacenza motorway to the A4 Brescia–Padova motorway and with a traffic count, in 2016, of approximately 27 million passing vehicles.

The deal reinforces Sias’s strategic commitment in Italy, positioning the Group as one of the country’s major private investors in the transport infrastructure sector. With around 23% of the Italian motorway network under its management, it is the second biggest motorway operator in Italy and the leading operator in the North-West of the country.
