The most valuable historic and cultural heritage is concentrated here. During excursion You will visit: Vilnius Cathedral and its square, Gediminas Castle, the University campus, Pilies street with historical and architectural monuments dating back to 16th –18th century, Gothic corner of Vilnius with St. Anne's and Bernardine churches, the former Town Hall square, the Dawn Gate with a miraculous icon of Virgin Mary. You will be taken to the observation deck with panoramic views. Trakai is one of the oldest Lithuanian settlements spreading over unique glacial terrain and the ancient capital of Lithuania. Trakai features moraine hills emerging from water like islands and numerous lakes. Located 28 km from Vilnius, the ancient capital of Lithuania is now famous for its 15th century insular castle housing an exhibition on prehistoric findings and 17th-18th century applied arts, the way of life of the Lithuanian Grand Dukes and Karaites, a Judaist sect brought by grand Duke Vytautas from Crimea. Car rent – from 52 Eur/day Sightseeing Tours: - Kaunas and Pazaislis Monastery tour (full day) Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania, first mentioned in an old manuscript of 1361. It is situated in the valley of two longest rivers of Lithuania, the Nemunas and the Neris. The town itself became an example of a confluence of people and cultures, an attractive blend of architecture and nature. The town has seen many ups and downs, but has stayed a source of forces for resistance, a guard of national identity, and has once actually been the temporal capital of Lithuania. Pazaislis Monastery and Church - located in splendid isolation among the fields and woodlands of the right bank of Nemunas river is a striking Baroque ensemble in Northern Europe founded in 1662 by the Great Chancellor Krzysztof Zygmunt Pac ordered by the Camaldolese Hermits. The main construction has been built in 1674 when the entire ensemble was finished in 1712. The building and the dome was founded after 1755 by king’s chamberlain Michal Jan Pac. Prices include: transportation services, guide escort, entrance to Pazaislis Monastery. - Druskininkai, Grutas Park and Liskiava tour (full day) Druskininkai, Lithuania’s premier spa and southernmost town lies some 140 km from Vilnius. Picturesquely set on the Nemunas river and surrounded by pine forests with wonderfully fresh, scented air is a delightful place to spen a restful few days. A one day trip to the town features its main attractions: neo-gothic Church of the Virgin Mary of the Scapular, Ciurlionis Memorial Museum, Jacques Lipchitz Memorial Gallery and Grutas Park, a unique park in which pompous statues of soviet revolutionaries and political leaders, once dominating squares of Lithuanian towns and villages, have found their shelter after being removed more than 15 years ago. Liskiava is mentioned in historical sources since 1044. Liskiava is located on the astonishingly beautiful left bank of the Nemunas river, 8 km from Druskininkai. Liskiava has 4 archeological monuments: the Alka mound, the Church hill, a stone with a bull’s heel and the so called "the stone of witches". Liskiava is also famous for 17th century sacral ensemble (church, former Dominican monastery and outbuildings). Prices – 72 Eur/min. 6 persons; 64 Eur/min. 10 persons. Prices include: transportation services, guide escort, entrances: Grutas Park, audio guide in Grutas, Liskiava Church and Museum. - Rumsiskes (half day) Covering a total of 176 hectares the Open-air Country Life Museum offers acquaintance with the 18th-19th century architecture, traditions, crafts and the way of life of farmers at the end of the 18th – 19th centuries. The museum boasts a collection of old houses, farms, schools, pubs and mills representing the major regions of the country, complete with the flora specific to these regions. This is the adventure of a lifetime indeed. As well as the architectural splendor, this is also a living museum, featuring men and women in traditional costume. Prices include: transportation services, including entrance fee for the transportation, guide escort, entrance to Rumsiskes museum. - Open Air Art museum Europos Park and Europe Centre Golf club tour (about 6 hours) The park is located 20 km from Vilnius in picturesque surroundings of Vilnius outskirts. Every year since 1993, the artists from Lithuania and all over the world (Japan, USA, Ireland, Greece, UK, Hungary etc.) come here to contribute with their creations to the Park. The result of which is a collection of over 50 sculptures including the ones created by M. Abakonowitz, D. Oppenheim, and Sol de Witt. The sculptures are permanently exhibited amidst rolling hills and woodlands dotted with natural springs. After You will visit Europe Centre Golf club, which is set just next to the geographical centre of Europe. There You will have lunch and presentation. Historians maintain that a settlement of ancient Balts stood on the coats of the Kursiu Marios lagoon in the 1st century A.D. In 1252 Klaipeda was captured by the Livonian Order. As a result, the brick castle of Memelburg was erected on the estuary of the Dane river. All until the beginning of the 20th c the town was under German control. At the present time Klaipeda is not only one of the largest fishing ports on the Baltic Sea but also a major cultural center of Lithuania. TOUR TO CURONIAN SPIT. After a short crossing the Curonian Lagoon by ferry, you reach the Curonian Spit (UNESCO site), a sandy stretch of land, 98 km long and varying in width from 400 m to just a few kilometres, between the waters of the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea, a great holiday site, full of the sweet scent of pines, water and ozone. Tour of the Curonian Spit will include a walk on the Hill of Witches in Juodkrante, a stop by biggest and oldest colonies of grey herons and cormorants in Lithuanian, visit to Thomas Mann Museum, the Mizgiris Amber Gallery, an ethnographic cemetery, the grave of the forester G.D.
