[Adv 29/02/2004] FRANCISCA Y. ABELLA 97 years old, died peacefully at home in Kailua, Oahu on March 14, 2004. She was born on March 5, 1907. As in life, she was surrounded by her loved ones during the time of her death. She was a °loving mother° to° 10 children; 21 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She is survived by her 4 sons, Pedring Abella of California, Alfredo Abella, Leonardo Abella and Albert Abella of Honolulu; 4 daugh- ters, Trinidad Oliva and Conchita Guzman of Cali-fornia, Helen Bactad and Anastacia Weldon of Hono-lulu, and a brother, Alfred Yagyagan of California. BURIAL: AT THE HAWAIIAN MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY IN KANEOHE. [Adv 22/03/2004] Vera June Abercrombie was often seen accompanying her son U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie to political events and was known for her "Vera's Cookies," which she handed out to political supporters, friends and neighbors. She died Dec. , 2004 in Florida at age 96. Abercrombie was a retired kindergarten teacher when she and her husband, Don, moved to Palm Springs, Calif., from Buffalo, N.Y., in the early 1960s. After her husband died, she moved to Honolulu, where she lived at the Lagoon Apartments on the grounds of Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel in Waikiki in the 1980s and '90s. After a short stay in a retirement community in California, she spent her final years with her son Hal and his wife Shirley in Wellington, Fla. Besides the Hawaii congressman and his brother, Abercrombie is survived by grandson Timothy and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Malcolm. A memorial service will be held at the waters adjacent to the Hilton Lagoon, where some of her ashes will be spread. The rest of her ashes will join those of her husband in the mountains near Palm Springs. [SB Dec. 22, 2004] PETER ABERILLA, 64, of Kane'ohe, died June 16, 2004. Born in Kailua. A heavy equipment operator retired from the City and County of Honolulu. Survived by wife, Shirley; sons, Timothy and Nelson; daughters, Bernadette Terry and Melanie Nakabayashi; 11 grandchildren; sister, Jane Pelangka; brothers, Domingo Nazara and Daniel and William Aberilla. [Adv June 20, 2004] LORETTA OSURMAN ABIVA - Loretta Osurman Abiva passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at St. Francis West Hospital into the love and promise of Jesus Christ, her savior. She was 69 years old. Born in Honolulu on June 18, 1934 to Victor and Balbina Osurman, Loretta was raised in Kalihi Valley, attended Kalihi Uka Elementary, Kalakaua Intermediate and graduated from Farrington High School in 1952. In the early 1970's, Loretta danced for the Kodak Hula show at the Waikiki Shell under the direction of Anti Louise Akeo Silva. She went on to work for Kaiser Permanente at Waikiki and in Moanalua as a laboratory aide.
