Masteroppgave2016djounzohm Empowerment Strategies of Participants and Volunteers in the City Mission (An example of a Diaconal Institution dealing with challenges Regarding drug addiction, SAFIR) VID Diakonhjemmet Høgskole Master in Diakonia and Christian Social Practice Author: Djounzoh Melanie Ngwah EMD 300 -Master Thesis Supervisor: Marianne Rodriguez Nygaard i Semester: Spring 2016 ABSTRACT The aim of this thesis is to discuss and explored the strategies used by a diaconal institution in the empowerment of volunteers and participants in Oslo, Norway. This study examines, SAFIR, a diaconal project of the Church City Mission that provides assistance to persons that have decided to put an end to drug consumption. During the past decade, a lot of persons have stopped the consumption of drugs and we hardly know which strategies are used by the institutions to rehabilitate these former addicts. Until recently, less attention has been devoted towards understanding the strategies used in the rehabilitation of former drug addicts. Therefore, the research gap is the point of departure for this study. This thesis develops on qualitative in-depth interviews with four former drug addicts who engage or have been engaged as volunteers or participants with the said institution. In addition to literature review, this thesis is influenced by my position as a student carrying out research under this field of study. The thesis has centered on empowerment as a tool of diaconal work. Following the acknowledgement of a gap in the literature, this thesis seeks to shed light on the strategies used by a diaconal institution in the rehabilitation of former drug addicted persons, as well as the challenges faced by these institutions. Preface Drug-induced deaths, or overdose fatalities, are a serious health concern in Norway. In 2013, the Norwegian Parliament adopted a proposal mandating the Norwegian Directorate of Health to implement a five-year national overdose strategy. The Norwegian Directorate of Health regards the need for measures in this area as imperative. The aim is to gradually reduce the number of deaths. The Norwegian Parliament also decided to step up efforts to prevent overdose altogether by establishing a Vision Zero. Since the parliamentary resolution, the Directorate has implemented measures in association with a widely representative working party. The Directorate will be strengthening the overdose prevention focus in existing measures. In addition, it will be implementing new measures. The Directorate intends for the strategy to result in permanent changes to Norwegian public services.

Derved aksentue- res en kontinuitet mellom disse to som eliteregimer. I sentrum står de politiserende embetsmenn: politisk agerende embetsmenn som ut fra en mer eller mindre vitenska- pelig forankret ideologi bedrev radikalt reformarbeid. I en avsluttende del reflekterer jeg omkring tradisjonen fra de politiserende embetsmenn i den nye styringssituasjon med dens spenninger mellom sosialdemokratiske og postsosialdemokratiske tenden- ser.1 I Det var i embetsmannsstaten en nærhet mellom den politiske og den byråkratiske elite – landets politiske elite var gjennom et langt tidsrom nærmest identisk med byråkratiet. Posisjonen som statsråd var høydepunkt i embetsmenns karriere. Det var embetsmenn som infiltrerte politikken – og ikke politikere som infiltrerte embetsver- ket. Embetsmannsstaten berodde på »en eiendommelig maktstruktur« som falt uten- for »vest-europeiske forfatningstyper«, hevdet Jens Arup Seip i sitt legendariske foredrag »Fra embedsmannsstat til ettpartistat« i Det Norske Studentersamfund i 1963: »Administrasjonens folk besatte både regjering og storting, bemektiget seg tøylene begge steder, og red dem i sine beste øyeblikk som to innkjørte parhester. Gjennom denne kontroll over regjering og storting var all makt samlet hos det jeg vil kalle de tusen akademiske familier.«2 Historikeren visste hva han snakket om – han kom selv fra en av disse familier og var lommekjent i embetsmannsstaten.

    REGNUM EDINBURGH CENTENARY SERIES A Learning Missional Church Reflections from Young Missiologists REGNUM EDINBURGH CENTENARY SERIES The Centenary of the World Missionary Conference of 1910, held in Edinburgh, was a suggestive moment for many people seeking direction for Christian mission in the twenty-first century. Several different constituencies within world Christianity held significant events around 2010. From 2005, an international group worked collaboratively to develop an intercontinental and multi-denominational project, known as Edinburgh 2010, and based at New College, University of Edinburgh. This initiative brought together representatives of twenty different global Christian bodies, representing all major Christian denominations and confessions, and many different strands of mission and church life, to mark the Centenary. Essential to the work of the Edinburgh 1910 Conference, and of abiding value, were the findings of the eight think-tanks or ‘commissions’. These inspired the idea of a new round of collaborative reflection on Christian mission – but now focused on nine themes identified as being key to mission in the twenty-first century. The study process was polycentric, open-ended, and as inclusive as possible of the different genders, regions of the world, and theological and confessional perspectives in today’s church. Schweigaard featured the attempt of approaching the Law with the society by setting the legal framework free of the chains which linked an empty conceptual universe of real referents. In doing so, he criticized those methods that embraced the juridical fact within an airtight logic system through challenging the previous and well-known theories such as idealism. That doctrine headed the course of the German philosophy in the first half of the nineteenth century. His contributions were key for theories such as pragmatism, empiricism, and utilitarianism which were addressing the future development of the Norwegian Juridical Science.

    20 jul 2017 Den yngre Fredrikshaldske slekt Stang Side 1 1. Generasjon 1. Thomas Andersen, f. ca 1660 (sønn av Anders Tomesen), d. 1725 (før 1 okt). "Hvor han skriver seg fra, vites ikke, og det er heller ikke meget sannsynlig at hans herkomst noensinne vil kunne bringes på det rene, dertil er navnet for alminnelig, og savnet av kirkebøker, skifteprotokoller og andre hjelpemidler for Fredrikshald dessverre altfor følelig" . Thomas Andersen dukket opp i Fredrikshald omkring 1700 og søkte og fikk borgerskap i byen 12 april 1704 som nyansatt skipper på skibet "Norske Bjørn" av Fredrikshald og derfor måtte ha sitt skipperborgerskap i orden. Han seilte som skipper i mange år, fortrinnsvis mellom Fredrikshald og England. Ved krigsbegivenhetene i 1716 fikk han titel som løitnant i det "frivillige kompani" og er nevnt for at han 3 og 4 juli 1716 under svenskenes angrep på Fredrikshald førte kommandoen over byens "defensionspram" og med dens kanoners kraftige ild jaget svenskene bort fra torget. Han fikk en erstatning på 350 riksdaler for at huset hans brant ned under krigen, Etter krigen vendte han tilbake til sitt gamle yrke som skipper, på "Dorothea Maria" av Fredrikshald, som vanligv is seilte til La Rochelle med trelast - da hans gamle skip var gått tapt. Thomas Andersen regnes som stamfar for den yngre Fredikshaldske slekt Stang. Gift 6 aug 1706 v/ kongelig bevilling, med Gjertrud Cathrine Christensdatter Bähr, f. 166? i Fredrikshald (datter av Christian Bähr og Margrethe NN), skifte 24 mar 1754 som "gammel og skrøbelig", d. ca. 1754 trolig mer enn 90 år gml.
