D.O. RIBERA DEL DUERO Ribera del Duero is one of the most important wine areas in Castilla y León, Northern Spain. Its reputation is largely thanks to the high - unique - delicate - quality of its red Tempranillo-based wines, the best examples of which are renowned throughout the world.

2015 Bodegas Matarromera “Melior” 48 - Tempranillo - This polished red shows black cherry, licorice and leafy flavors, offering hints of smoke and chocolate. Light, firm and fresh, with good focus.

2012 Lleiroso 80 - Tempranillo - This intense red has a toasted oak and ripe red fruits, with a well-integrated taste of wood, balsamic, leather and licorice notes.

2012 Bodegas Valduero "Unacepa" 80 - Tempranillo - Bodegas Valduero named this wine Unacepa because each bottle is made of one single vine. The wine is well balanced between fruit and earth, with notes of unsweetened cocoa powder and coffee.

2015 Dominio de Pingus "PSI" 85 - Tempranillo - PSI wine offers dark berries, bitter chocolate, light spiciness with blue fruit flavors, subtly tannic finish, which leaves a juicy pastille notes behind.

2013 Bodegas Matarromera, Crianza 88 - Tempranillo - Black cherry and blackberry flavors form the core of this red, accented by cacao, toast and mineral notes. Firm tannins and orange peel acidity are balanced, giving way to a spicy finish.

2012 Bodegas Matasnos "Bosque de Matasnos" 90 - Tempranillo & Merlot - On the nose it is intense and pleasant with cherry and blackberry aromas. On the palate, it is powerful and robust accompanied by tobacco notes.

2009 Bodegas Frontaura "Nexus" 90 - Tempranillo - Earthy and espresso notes frame the dried plum and tobacco flavors of this thick red. Nexus is powerful and rustic with a great density and muscular tannins.

2014 Pago de Carraovejas, Crianza 100 - Tinto Fino, Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot - In the palate, this wine is elegant, with silky texture, prominent fruit concentration, chocolate hints and a lengthy pleasant tannins developing pleasurable flavors of spices leading to a finish of caramel and mocha.

2015 Bodegas y Viñedos Aalto "Aalto" 120 - Tempranillo - Reticent bouquet of dark fruits, pine wood, and tinge of white chocolate. Palate is full of ripe dark fruit, expansive tannins.

2008 Bodegas Frontaura "Nexus", Crianza 1.5L 120 - Tempranillo - This rich red has a plush texture supported by firm tannins. The dried cherry, roasted plum, tobacco and underbrush flavors are harmonious, in the traditional style.

2009 Bodegas Emilio Moro "Emilio Moro” 1.5L 120 - Tinto Fino - Intense aromas of mature ripe black fruits, integrated with well-balanced toasty touches. Powerful on the palate with powerful tannins and vanilla accents.

2014 Bodegas Protos "Protos Seleccion" 150 - Tempranillo - Cherry and boysenberry flavors mingle with black olive and smoky notes in this plush red. Features light, firm tannins and balsamic acidity. Great depth.

2014 Pago de Carraovejas “Reserva” 180 - Tinto Fino, Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot - Smoky sanguine and loamy notes give this big red a savory character, featuring a rich core of plum and blackberry flavors, with licorice and floral details emerging on the finish. Dense but balanced, presenting a long, smoky finish.

2015 Flor De Pingus 180 - Tinto Fino - This wine is deep and sweet. Offering and explosive dark berry compote. Dark cherry, plum, cedar, spice and mineral flavors mingle to keep a fresh acidity.

2001 Bodega Matarromera “Pago de las Solanas” 400 - Tempranillo - Lively and expressive, this modern red balances toasty, chocolate oak notes with ripe plum and black cherry fruit. Tannins have rounded beautifully with age and balanced acidity keeps the wine fresh on the finish.

Along the Ebro River, the region is practically divided in three. Rioja Alta which has a great deal of rainfall and a mild climate. Rioja Baja which is hotter and more arid. Last but not least the Rioja Alevesa home to some of Spain’s finest red wines.

2013 Bodegas Muga “Muga Reserva Unfiltered” 72 2013 Bodegas Muga “Muga Reserva Unfiltered” 1.5L 144 - Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano & Garnacha - Juicy and expressive, this lively red shows coffee and licorice notes that frame black cherry and currant flavors. The tannins are a bit chewy but resolve gracefully on the fruity finish.

2011 Cune "Contino Reserva" 90 - Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo & Garnacha Tinta - A classic Rioja that's elegant and refined, with lovely perfumed aromas of ripe red fruits with hints of cedar and leather. Medium-bodied, velvety texture, super balanced with well-integrated oak & fine tannins.

2012 Marques de Caceres "Gaudium" 90 - Tempranillo & Graciano - A powerhouse of a Rioja, with finesse & sheer intensity doing their glorious dance. Saturated berry, cassis and black-plum aromas are densely packed onto the nose of this tightly built iron-fisted Rioja.

2011 Bodegas Muga "Selección Especial" 90 - Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano & Garnacha - This is one of those vintages which is great to drink from the start without detracting in the least its potential for laying down for the future. These wines amaze you with their great freshness of their “Atlantic” features interwoven with the mature “Mediterranean” character.

2011 Cune "Imperial Reserva" 110 - Tempranillo - Black currant and kirsch flavors mingle with dark chocolate and espresso notes in this rich red. Smoky and tarry notes add a savory element. Firm tannins support the polish texture, while balsamic acidity lingers on the spicy finish.

1994 Bodegas Urbina "Gran Reserva" 120 - Tempranillo, Graciano & Mazuelo - Medium ruby colored with a lovely bouquet of cherry blossom and earth notes. The palate is multifaceted, elegant, concentrated, impeccably balanced, and holding strong. The mouthfeel is silky and creamy with a very long and full finish. A splendid old vintage.

2007 Marques de Murrieta "Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva" 130 - Tempranillo & Mazuelo - Grapes coming from La Plana vineyard with vines over 80 years old. Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Mix of black cherry and black mulberry fruit with lots of black pepper notes, leather and wet leaves with rich, supple, velvety and very classy.

2005 Bodegas Roda "Roda I Reserva" 130 - Tempranillo - Bold Rioja with cassis, plums, berries, tannic backbone of wood, cedar. Burnt Caramel, leather, slightly on the palate with a very interesting profile. Amazing finish with beautiful acidity.

2012 Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia “Macán” 150 - Tempranillo & Graciano - Licorice and graphite notes frame black cherry and dried herb flavors in this polished red. Balanced, with harmony and depth.

2005 Bodegas Ontañón "Ontañón Reserva" 1.5L 150 - Tempranillo & Graciano - This wine is a dark and inky red with an intense nose. Smokey notes frame a core of plum and cherry with accents of tobacco, minerals, and earth. Maturing gracefully, this wine has well integrated tannins and ample acidity that give way to a spicy finish.

2010 La Granja Remelluri "Gran Reserva" 190 - Tempranillo, Garnacha & Graciano - Coffee and chocolate notes from oak dominate this muscular reed, but there is a solid core of plum fruit, and notes of mineral and tobacco add complexity. Impressive concentration.

2013 Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia “Macán Clásico”1.5L 190 - Tempranillo & Graciano - Black cherry and plum flavors mingle with chocolate, loamy earth and leaf notes in this firm red. Has great density, and the sweet-tart acidity keeps this lively.

2010 Bodegas Roda "Cirsion" 350 - Tempranillo - Selection of best bunches of the coming from different parcels of old vines. Deep, inky ruby with purple highlight, initial notes of milk chocolate with a sweet kick on the palate, full, round and so supple with a strong velvety tannins.
