[email protected] Abstract: In the article is investigated the literature of Southern Azerbaijan generally. The author comes to conculution like that at the end of 90s national language, literary and spritual values were under constant pressure in Southern Azerbaijan. That’s why the created literary works reflected the themes of awakening and resistance, separation and longing. P.Mammadli notes that after Islamic revolution in 1978-1979 it was opened ways for the development of ashug, epos art and ghazal genre. Literary process started to recover in 90s. New generation, new wave came to literature. The author concludes that Azerbaijan throughout history has been leader conductor of progressive ideas in Iran. This mission continues both in the last centuries and today. New literary generation has saved the rich literary heritage and multiplies by the opening new stages. Key words: Southern Azerbaijan Literature, new generation, leader conductor of idea. INTRODUCTION. A border has divided the Azerbaijani people for nearly two centuries. To the north of the border lies the independent Azerbaijan Republic, while to the south lie the Azerbaijani provinces of Iran. The Azerbaijanis, or Azerbaijani Turks as they are also known, constitute the largest ethnic minority in Iran. The language, art and spiritual values of the people of Southern Azerbaijan have been under pressure for the last 80 years.
