2015 UNITED NATIONS INTER-AGENCY GAMES (UNIAG)

Dear Colleagues,

The 2015 UNIAG Organizing Committee, on behalf of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) staff, is pleased to inform you of the XLII (42nd) United Nations Inter-Agency Games (UNIAG).

Building on the success of previous Games held in Spain, the organizing committee has decided to hold the XLII Games at the PortAventura Resort in Salou, Tarragona, Spain, 29 April to 3 May 2015. However, please note that we are still in the final stages of negotiations with the venue, service providers and possible sponsors, so more detailed information on costs, transport, visas and other information will be provided as soon as possible, but at least by the end of the year, and your patience is much appreciated.

In addition, this year you will help us to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of ITU. Since 1865, the International Telecommunication Union has been at the centre of advances in communications – from telegraphy through to the modern world of satellites, mobile phones and the Internet. As part of the events held throughout the year, the ITU staff will be delighted to welcome our colleagues from around the world to celebrate with us at the 2015 UNIAG.

Salou is a municipality in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia, Spain. The city is approximately 10 km from Tarragona on the Costa Daurada and 112 km from Barcelona. Aside from its string of beaches interrupted by rocky coves, and its landscaped promenade, one of its main attractions is the PortAventura resort. The Dutch movie Costa! and the television series with the same title were both filmed in Salou.
