Guidelines for Using the VolunteerMatch TrademarkTM

These guidelines apply to your use of VolunteerMatch™ (the “Trademark”). The Trademark is owned by Impact Online, Inc, dba VolunteerMatch, a Calif. public benefit (“VolunteerMatch”).

1. You may use the Trademark in connection with the online promotion of community service.

2. You may not alter the Trademark in any manner. For example, you may not change the proportion, color, design, or font of the Trademark.

3. Except as expressly provided in this Agreement, you may not display the Trademark in any manner that implies sponsorship or endorsement by VolunteerMatch or Impact Online. You can use our marks to promote a link to the VolunteerMatch website.

4. You may not use the Trademark to disparage VolunteerMatch, its products or services, or in a manner which, in VolunteerMatch’s reasonable judgment, may diminish or otherwise damage VolunteerMatch’s goodwill in the Trademark.

5. The Trademark must appear by itself, with reasonable spacing (at least the height of the Trademark) between each side of the Trademark and other graphic or textual elements. See the VolunteerMatch Brand & Logo Guidelines.

6. VolunteerMatch is a registered trademark, please do not remove our proprietary notices if any.

7. You acknowledge that all rights to the Trademark are the exclusive property of VolunteerMatch, and all goodwill generated through your use of the Trademark will inure to the benefit of VolunteerMatch.

8. Subject to VolunteerMatch approval, if your service from VolunteerMatch involves a data feed or the VolunteerMatch SearchLite appliance, a version of the Trademark that includes the statement “Powered By” must be placed in a prominent position such that web site visitors would recognize VolunteerMatch as the source of the data.

VolunteerMatch reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify these guidelines at any time and will provide written notice to Company prior to releasing said modifications. VolunteerMatch reserves the right to take action against any use of this or any other trademark owned by VolunteerMatch that does not conform to these guidelines.

VolunteerMatch Brand & Logo Guidelines

Our Name & Web Service

The name of our is “VolunteerMatch,” spelled as one word with a capital V and M: Correct: “VolunteerMatch” Incorrect: “Volunteer Match” or “Volunteermatch” or “” Our popular web service is “VolunteerMatch.org,” which can be reproduced as follows: Correct: “VolunteerMatch.org” or ““www.volunteermatch.org” or “www.VolunteerMatch.org” Incorrect: “VolunteerMatch.com” or “Volunteer Match.org” Example in context: VolunteerMatch is a nonprofit organization in San Francisco whose Web service, VolunteerMatch.org, helps good people and good causes to connect.

Web-ready and print-ready VolunteerMatch logo files can be downloaded at: http://media.volunteermatch.org/docs/img. There are three elements to the logo.

Five Hands Company Name Tagline

The company name stretches to match the width of the hands. There are two variations of the logo with the company name: VolunteerMatch and VolunteerMatch.org. If the logo is not presented near to our URL (www.volunteermatch.org), use the logo with “VolunteerMatch.org” as the company name. The VolunteerMatch tagline reads “Where begins.” It is slightly smaller and centered beneath the brand name. The tagline is optional, but preferred if the layout permits.

Spacing The VolunteerMatch logo should have a hand’s width margin around all sides.

Background The logo may be used over a background color (ie, knockout or reversed). The logo may be used over imagery only if the imagery provides enough contrast to enable all the logo elements to be easily distinguished by the viewer. For this reason, primary colors and midtones should be avoided.

“Powered by VolunteerMatch” Logos VolunteerMatch’s preferred method of attribution for API and widget users is to accompany all instances with an approved “Powered by VolunteerMatch” logo. • Please do not edit the images, colors, or text. • Maintain the integrity and proportions of the text and logo. • The logo should have spacing equal to one “hand” surrounding it on all 4 sides. • Please ensure all logos link to http://www.volunteermatch.org.
