The On-Demand Pricing system is a useful communications tool to Lowe’s customers. Along with vital information about each item (selling price, item number, item description, verification bar code, rebate information, if applicable, and bin locator information if applicable) the system is capable of displaying item specific feature/benefit copy, brand logos, promo messages, etc. Many formats are available for use and can be used in a variety of merchandising sets. The format that is most appropriate for use in one area of the store may not be appropriate in another depending on how the product is merchandised and/or displayed. This system must be used whenever critical information needs to be conveyed to the customer in order to make an informed purchasing decision. Vendors should consult their Lowe’s Merchandising contact, their assigned Product Mar- keting Manager, and their Lowe’s Point-of-Sale Specialist (704 757-SIGN) to determine the best use of the On-Demand system for their individual needs. Definition: Labels produced by Lowe’s Corporate which specify product information including price, model number, item number, UPC code, etc. SIZE: Varies–see previous page for size and usage SOURCE: Lowe’s Corporate maintains the database of information. On-Demand Pricing Labels are printed at store level. One of the most obvious new features of the system is the introduction of the aisle number into the product location logic. By giving our customers not only the bay and shelf location but also informing them of the appropriate aisle, Lowe’s has eliminated confusion in categories where displays are either in the cutback areas of a department, or cases where stock product must be housed on a separate aisle from the display. Extensive research was conducted on this system and, in conjunction with Lowe’s- provided explanatory signage and the locator marker signs, our store personnel and customers rated our new system easier to use because it steps you more logically through the process of finding the take-with product. B Corporate Bay Locator Marker Corporate Bay Locator Marker Proper use of the Product Locator system is essential so that our customers can easily navigate each department. The system also saves operationally in the stores, eliminating the extra time required to use the old handwritten product locators. This operational advantage frees up our employees to better service our customers and focus efforts on our core business. However, it is imperative the Product Locator system not be overused. Note: Product locators should only be used when the take-with product is located away from the display. When take-with items either have no corresponding display, or are located directly below or adjacent to their display, product locators are not necessary. 39 Signage Guidelines Lowe’s 2007 POP | On-Demand Pricing and Product Locator All vendors must use the Lowe’s Product Locator System, which is integrated into the On-Demand Price Label System, in lieu of a proprietary “easy find” system.
