Such a definition is established and theoretically justified by the theory of electromagnetic fields. This article uses the methodology of this theory, in particular, a method for power balance estimation in electromagnetic fields based on Maxwell’s equations, as well as methods for the analysis of running and standing electromagnetic waves based on the theory of reflection, propagation and transmission of plane harmonic waves.

ISBN 978-966-921-163-7 The monograph substantiates the existence and determines the origin of the constituent element of the resistance to the movement within rail carriages; the constituent is determined by the control of the wheel pairs within the railway track. In this book, we suggest the method to analyze closed power circuit in mechanical power transmission applied to rolling stock. The method of mathematical modeling for two- point contact of the wheel with the rail has also been developed. The characteristics of the kinematic resistance to the movement for a number of types of rolling stock have been obtained. There are power factors which control the rail carriages and their analysis is very important, therefore we address to it in the book as well.

As a result, it is locomotives’ operation and define main opportunities proved that feasible level of value-added use of to increase its efficiency. The main objective of the locomotive up to 75 % of total time versus 49 % study is to reveal factors influencing the increase in nowadays is possible. It is shown that reduction of reliability of locomotives. time and cost of technical maintenance and repair of Data of the sample of 40 locomotives of main locomotives (TMR) is an important opportunity to series operated in Russia for the period of 400–500 increase efficiency of locomotives’ operation. days are used, which ensures accuracy of results Besides, it has been proved that one of the reasons obtained. The method of the study is mainly statistical of over-downtime of locomotives under repair is a processing of data. Besides commonly statistically significant volume of violations of operating modes, analyzed positions like «in operation» and «faulty» new which is also confirmed by statistical data used in positions «at the head of the train» (effective work) previous publications.
