    Karelian Diamond Resources (KDR AIM) Mining –Initiating Coverage 17 January 2019 Stock Data Introduction Karelian Diamond Resources (“Karelian”) is an AIM listed diamond exploration Share Price 3.40p company operating in Finland. It acquired the Lahtojoki diamond mining concession in April 2016 from A & G Mining OY. Since then, Karelian have identified further Market Cap (£M) 1.2 diamond potential through the discovery of kimberlite boulders in till adjacent to the EV (£M) 1.3 Lahtojoki diamond deposit. In the Kuhmo area, Karelian have further defined the Seitapera pipe, the largest known kimberlite pipe in Finland which covers an area of 6.9Ha, and discovered a number of other kimberlite dykes in the vicinity. It presents various EU-funded star projects in North Savo. Leppävirta EU-programs may seem fairly distant but their effects are shown in multiple ways in the Varkaus daily lives of almost all inhabitants of North Savo. They promote the well-being of people,e, companies and the environment. North Savo uses three funds of the EU: the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Rural Development Programme for Mainland Finland. The province has received 379 million Euros through these funds between 2007 and 2013. Funding also offers significant benefits: the state, municipalities, companies, educational and research institutes and societies canalize co-funding to the projects. Project activities have created several new jobs and companies in North Savo. In addition, thousands of employees have received up-to-date education, various companies and organizations have received new research and education equipment and municipalities have been supported through building municipal infrastructure that helps industry and trade. All this promotes employment, competitiveness, innovation and production activities. Financial support from the European Structural Funds in North Savo are granted by the Regional Council of Pohjois-Savo, the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of North Savo and Finnvera. These organizations work in close cooperation with each other. Funding is aligned with provincial development programs.

The vision of the study was to understand the systems and processes involved in the flow packing unit, to find the performance barriers and to suggest possible solutions to increase the efficiency of the unit. The data for theoretical study was collected from books, lectures and internet. Theoretical data collection was focused on process management, resource management and analysis methods. The empirical data collection is based on company’s systems and processes. One part of empirical data was collected by interviewing company personnel and one to one sessions with workers, while other part was collected by quantitative data collection method for which a data collection form was designed. Qualitative data collection was used to gather the information regarding company’s processes for resource and quality management and to understand the worker’s knowledge about work. Quantitative data analysis was used to find the efficiency and problems of the technical side of the system. The major part of the information was gathered by observation and self-participation of the researcher in the actual system.

    Pohjois-Savon maakuntakaavan selvityksiä Luonnonsuojelualuevarausten nykytilan selvitys kesällä 2007 Kalle Ruokolainen POHJOIS-SAVON LIITTO 2008 Pohjois-Savon maakuntakaavan selvityksiä LUONNONSUOJELUALUEVARAUSTEN NYKYTILAN SELVITYS KESÄLLÄ 2007 Selvityksen tausta ja suoritus Pohjois-Savon ympäristökeskuksen ja Pohjois-Savon liiton edustajat neuvottelivat joulukuussa 2006 seutukaavojen ja Ylä-Savon seudun maakuntakaavan luonnon- suojelualuevarausten nykytilan selvittämistarpeista. Muutamien alueiden luonnonarvoja koskevat selvitykset arvioitiin siinä määrin vanhentuneiksi, että alueiden nykyti- lan selvittämistä pidettiin tarpeellisena. Neuvotteluissa sovittiin, mitkä alueet selvittää Pohjois-Savon liitto, mitkä Pohjois-Savon ympäristökeskus. Maastokäyntien tulos- ten perusteella arvioidaan alueiden rajaus ja mahdollinen kaavamerkintä Pohjois-Savon maakuntakaavassa. Selvitykset eivät koske Kuopion seutua, koska alueen luontoselvitykset on tehty Kuopion seudun maakuntakaavan laadinnan yhteydessä. Pohjois-Savon liiton selvityksen on tehnyt MMM Kalle Ruokolainen kesällä 2007. Hän on myös kuvittanut ja taittanut selvitysraportin. Suunnitteluavustaja Mikko Rummukainen on rajannut tutkittavat alueet ilmakuville ja maastokartoille. Työtä on oh- jannut kaavoituspäällikkö Seppo Laitila. Ensimmäinen oli aluekeskusohjelman arvioinnissa ulkopuolelta tullut paine saada ohjelmalle sateenvarjo, jonka alla voidaan ohjelman eri kokonaisuuksia paremmin strategisesti hahmottaa ja toteuttaa. Toinen tekijä oli vuonna 1999 laaditun Ylä-Savon tavoite 1-strategian uudistamisen tarve. Kolmas ja tärkein tekijä oli kuitenkin havainto siitä, että ohjelmatyöstä riippumatta tarve kuntien sekä keskinäiseen että seudun eri toimijoiden väliseen yhteistyöhön on kasvanut eri syistä huomattavasti. Ylä-Savon Talousalueen Liitto ry, jonka tehtäväksi strategian käytännön toteuttaminen annettiin, pyysi keväällä 2003 tarjoukset strategiaprosessin ohjaamisesta kolmelta alan toimijalta. Kilpailun perusteella seutustrategiaprosessin ohjaajaksi valittiin HAUS Kehittämiskeskus Oy. Strategian työstäminen tapahtui hyvin lyhyellä ajanjaksolla ja työskentely oli tiivistä. Prosessin eteneminen vaati sekä ydinryhmän osallistujilta että prosessin vetäjältä Timo Ojalalta valmiutta ajankäytölliseen ja henkiseen panostukseen.

E-mail: [email protected] Little is known about changes in the abundance and species composition of dandelions (Taraxa- cum) in Finland. However, Eastern Finland, the biogeographical provinces of Karelia ladogensis and Karelia borealis, has been explored again since 1985. Carl-Erik Sonck collected dandelions there mainly in the 1940s and published his results later (Sonch 1964a). The comparison revealed that changes were considerable over this 60-year period. Species of the section Taraxacum had become more frequent, while those of the sections Borea and Erythrosperma had declined. After Sonck, 88 species were found to be new to North Karelia and 24 to Ladoga Karelia. Respectively, 16 and 33 species were not re-discovered in these provinces. The figures are approximate, particu- larly concerning Karelia ladogensis, because a larger part of this province has not been studied since 1945 when most of its territory was ceded to the former Soviet Union.
