1 PEREKRESTOK WINS CUSTOMER FOCUS AWARD Moscow, 24 October 2014 — X5 Retail Group, One of the Leading Russian Food Retailers PEREKRESTOK WINS CUSTOMER FOCUS AWARD Moscow, 24 October 2014 — X5 Retail Group, one of the leading Russian food retailers, has announced today that its Perekrestok retail chain has won the annual Customer Focus Award in Retail. The award ceremony was held at the Sokolniki Convention Centre during the 2nd Congress of Customer-Oriented Business Professionals run by the Customer Loyalty Association. Perekrestok received the award for proactive management and development of customer loyalty and customer service programmes in retail. Other winners included businesses from other key industries of the Russian economy, such as Alfa-Bank, Megafon, Lukoil, Ingosstrakh and Sberbank. The key criteria for winning companies were innovation, outstanding customer service achievements and national consumer recognition of the brands. The winners in each sector were selected based on the popular and expert voting results. Michael James Atkin, a world-renowned loyalty expert, was invited as an independent observer for the event. This is not the first award received by X5 Retail Group for development of client services. In June this year, X5 won a national Loyalty Award for the Best Food Retailer Loyalty Programme with its Perekrestok Club. Perekrestok Club is a points-based loyalty programme run in Perekrestok supermarkets since 2006. The points awarded for each purchase are automatically credited to the cardholder's personal account to be further used by the customers at any time and for any purchases at their discretion. Over 6 million frequent buyers are already using the Perekrestok Club card. The customer base is growing by 10–15 percent a year on the average. Perekrestok Club partners over 20 companies. The annual Customer Focus Award is granted to businesses for their contribution to development of customer services that enhance company performance and improve living standards of Russian people.     An Overview of Boards of Directors at Russia’s Largest Public Companies Andrei Rakitin Milena Barsukova Arina Mazunova Translated from Russian August 2020 Key Results According to information disclosed by 109 of Russia’s largest public companies: • “Classic” board compositions of 11, nine, and seven seats prevail • The total number of persons on Boards of the companies under study is not as low as it might seem: 89% of all Directors were elected to only one such Board • Female Directors account for 12% and are more often elected to the audit, nomination, and remuneration committees than to the strategy committee • Among Directors, there are more “humanitarians” than “techies”, while the share of “techies” among chairs is greater than across the whole sample • The average age for Directors is 53, 56 for Chairmen, and 58 for Independent Directors • Generation X is the most visible on Boards, and Generation Y Directors will likely quickly increase their presence if the development of digital technologies continues • The share of Independent Directors barely reaches 30%, and there is an obvious lack of independence on key committees such as audit • Senior Independent Directors were elected at 17% of the companies, while 89% of Chairs are not independent • The average total remuneration paid to the Board of Directors is RUR 69 million, with the difference between the maximum and minimum being 18 times • Twenty-four percent of companies disclosed information on individual payments made to their Directors.
